Hidden Valley Resort is really beautiful! Our room was lovely.. the decor - all hard wood, solid furniture with real charm, nice floors, red brick hearth and a separate sort of entry way area where you could put your purse, keys etc. I sat with a coffee (free from the lobby) and just looked out the window at the spectacular view (fall colors, lake etc). There was a deep bathtub with really hot water, which was wonderful! I didn't really want to leave :-)
I loved that there was a very nice pool - I ended up not using it, but the threat was there.. :-) Glad to have it available and it had a beautiful view of the lake.. really lovely.

It’s become very dated
Very old, not well-maintained building and pool. The staff did their best and worked hard, but the owners definitely need to do renovations in every aspect.

Poor housekeeping, rooms were not cleaned, floors were not swept in the rooms. Even with visible dirt on the floor. Poor breakfast choice. Food was not refilled once empty, had to make do with what was left at breakfast but charged full amount. Food temperature cold.
The money we paid just for one night staying was really too much for what we got. Even though the breakfast is not included and we paid for that separately, it was really poor with very limited choices. The coffee was terrible and the staff were not well trained for their job. The room stinks since the carpets and furniture probably not cleaned for a long time.
Loved the outdoor vibes, reminded me of like dirty dancing. The renovations are beautiful.
Use of outdoor activities great, beautiful little beach. Salt water pool and hot tub were wonderful! Obsessed with heated bathroom floors now!
I wish there was a clear path from the facility to the beach from both sides of the building would be ideal. As well as clearer directions down at the beach for using the outdoor amenities. I had to keep calling front desk to ask where things were and where to sign it out etc.

Price and cost to use amenities despite fact that we did not due to weather and the one day our kids wanted to take a kayak out at 4:15 (when the weather cleared) we were told they could not as all boats had to be back in by 5.
