We stayed here previously as its close to the theatre and had a great night.
On the second stay we had an issue with the restaurant so I emailed the manager and got a very quick response, after a few emails back and forth we decided to stay again and this time it was perfect, no issues, the rooms spotless as usual, the food is exceptional, definitely a hidden gem in Liverpool.
I cant speak highly enough about this place, the staff, the rooms, the restaurant and the way our issue was handled.
Already booked stay number 4.
We had our dinner in the restaurant for Easter Sunday. Staff went above and beyond to cater for us and especially for my toddler who has a dairy allergy- they had even bought him dairy free chocolate bars and a dairy free Easter egg, as well as other Easter crafts to keep him entertained- which was such a thoughtful touch. The food and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much!
Very nice stay and friendly helpful staff. Could do with a little updating. Had Sunday lunch in the restaurant which was beatifu
Room clean breakfast spot on can't fault it.but stayed in room 351 the noise at 5 in the morning not really good rattling from the train station so if you want too get a good sleep thats probly not the room for you.only letdown can't fault breakfast nice food.
Stayed in a triple room which was actually a double double with bathroom. Really large, spacious and comfortable. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. Bathroom was spot on with a good shower.
Hotel bar area is pleasant and reasonably priced also.
Hotel is literally adjacent to Lime St Station so is ideal for a city centre stopover.
Slight downside is external noise early morning as the Station gets busy. Wasn't overly disruptive to us and we had a pleasant and comfortable stay. Would be happy to stay here again.
The mattress in room 404 needs changing, its had it day, springs kept pinging every time you moved. Please use a different coffee Nescafe is awful
The Liner Hotel Liverpool 5🌟
Terrible. Let me pay the difference!
Asking whether I could check in at the front desk, the clerk said no. Waited and then said I’m just joking. Promoting happy hour in the bar, which looked dreadful.
The TV was constantly restarting due to low memory, can’t even put something on to drown out the noise. People coughing next door.
Best aspect, close to the station. Worst aspect a hugely load hum all night long. Tannoys call out and you’re in the moment. High winds whistle around the building. Road noise and rumble. I’m literally feeling the rumble on my pillow. This isn’t the first time. My work booked this place last time because it was cheap. I bet you won’t sleep either.
Staff are incredibly rude and rooms are of a very low, poor standard. Room had a jammed window so couldn't get fresh air in the boiling hot, over heated rooms, wallpaper peeling off the walls, and none of the bed side lamps worked. Reception wouldn't answer my call and I had to get a colleague to call, which they answered first time because they didn't want to change my room. They told me they had no rooms available that evening, despite options being available for check in online. At check in, they ask you to fill in a form with all your personal details, which are then stored in the pigeon holes behind the counter. Very poor data handling of personal data and very easy to have identity theft. Upon complaining about the service and poor data handling, the person behind the desk said I could email her if I wanted to complain. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
Clean hotel right in the centre of Liverpool. Good value for money. Has a decent bar with good prices and happy hour. Few downsides - it is right next to train station so expect some noise. Rooms were roasting. Pillows were like bricks. Breakfast imo wasn't worth £14. Although it is unlimited, I felt the price a little steep. Would we return? Absolutely! For the price we paid and the location the pros definitely outweighed the cons
We stayed here on the 6th March 2026, for my husbands birthday, the hotel looked lovely, the staff were fabulous, the food was gorgeous, the Excecutive Suit we booked for a good price was nice and clean, but when we were in it there was a wearing noise, we could put up with it when the TV was on, we had to close the windows for the sound of the loud speaker in railway, I asked a lady who was going down the service lift what the noise was as it was even louder in the bathroom, she told me it was the lift motor. When we went to bed we had hardly any sleep all night. I dont understand any hotel putting their Excecutive Suit right opposite the service lift and two other one's, is beyond my comprehension. When we went to breakfast which was lovely, a few people i spoke to said they had the same noise also. When we went to book out I told the lovely lady about everything i have said here, she was very sorry and said "if we wanted to come back and try again, she would give us a complementary upgrade with food." When i asked what rooms dont have noises in, she smiled and asked us for our car number so she could help us out of the car park. so im sorry we won't be coming back 😔
We stay here regularly when visiting Liverpool, and always stay at The Liner. The staff & rooms are excellent, it’s such a friendly hotel and in a great location.
We’ve had a couple of issues over the years, and what makes this hotel stand out is its excellent response and customer service. Things occasionally don’t go to plan - not always anyone’s fault as such - but it’s the way in which it is dealt with that is so important. This hotel know how to handle such matters - their customer service is excellent!
I had the most wonderful dining experience and just have to share how fantastic Chef Leon was! I ordered the steak, and he went above and beyond by preparing a completely different accompaniment to suit my preferences. It was such a thoughtful touch and complemented the steak beautifully — you could really taste the care and creativity in every bite.
To make the evening even more special, dessert was absolutely fabulous. Not only was it delicious, but it arrived with a beautifully written birthday message on the plate, which was such a kind and personal gesture. It truly made the celebration feel extra special.
Chef Leon’s attention to detail, generosity, and talent made the whole meal unforgettable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Valentine weekend so we wanted it special and it ticked all my boxes fabulous hotel room 5th floor overlooking the city and the staff were amazing 👏 well done I will definitely book again
We stayed overnight, bed & breakfast, as we went to a show at the Empire. The Reception lady was excellent , informed us about the inclusive car parking(just up the road) and gave us a room upgrade! Room was excellent, very comfortable and clean. We booked a pre-theatre meal in their Seven Seas brasserie which was also great, with plenty to choose from. The breakfast next day was in 1st floor area, a self service style, with hot and cold food to choose. The staff were great, met you at the desk to explain everything and they constantly cleared up tables after people had left. The hotel is definitely value for money , right in the City centre next to the train station and has plenty of offers on rooms/b&b/dinner stays. We will be coming back again!
Hello everyone at The Liner! Just a note to say a massive thank you for making our stay so special. Your hotel is gorgeous. The staff are amazing. So friendly and welcoming. Our room was fabulous, it had everything we wanted. Perfect layout and so comfortable. We went into the bar and the restaurant several times during our stay and were not disappointed. Delicious meals. Good choice of beverages. Lovely Service. The breakfast was excellent. Really tasty, plenty of choice. And again, lovely service from the staff in there. Location was spot on. 100 meters from Liverpool Lime Street. A steady walk to the centre of town. We are definitely returning. We highly recommend this hotel.
We had a fantastic stay at The Liner Hotel and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff were absolutely lovely from start to finish and really went above and beyond to make our trip special.
We were kindly given a complimentary upgrade to an Executive Room, which was beautiful, spacious, and really comfortable. As we were celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday, the hotel also surprised us with Prosecco in the room, which was such a thoughtful and generous touch and genuinely made her day.
The room was spotless, the bed was super comfy, and the location is perfect for getting around Liverpool — especially for the M&S Bank Arena. We felt really well looked after throughout our stay and the service was excellent.
We’re both really happy we chose The Liner and would 100% stay again. Thank you to the whole team for treating us so nicely and making our trip extra special!
Absolutely love the liner and the location .free parking ... Danielle on the reception is excellent and always try and deal with her as nothing is to much trouble for her.. Told Danielle we were coming to the liner for our 25th wedding anniversary and we got an upgrade and a bottle of champagne 🍾. Topclass staff. Thank you x
Just back from The Liner hotel. A great location in Central Liverpool . And consider it great value for it's location. Spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly . Didn't avail of the breakfast option but had dinner two nights in restaurant and it was very good. A nice cosy bar is also attached to the hotel. The staff recommended The Key Lime cafe down the street for our breakfasts and it was excellent, with a great choice. The room was a superior twin. Had an inroom fridge with water and fresh milk supplied every day. Couldn't fault it and intend to come back again.
One of the loveliest (if not THE loveliest) hotels I have stayed in, in many years.
The location next to the station, the lovely rooms, staff, breakfasts - nothing to dislike.
Bathrobes, toiletries, fluffy towels and slippers were all provided, the room was comfortable and spotless.
We appreciated the fridge (with some goodies) and the coffee pod machine.
All for a very reasonable cost.
I would definitely recommend this gem of a hotel.
