parked in hotels car park early in morning as we were going to Anfield and asked if we could leave our bags till after the match but thanks to the girls on the desk they allowed us to check in early .thanks to carrie and rachel who were really friendly and helpful ,brilliant no complaints right next to lime street station and city centre but no noise issues never had the breakfast as witherspoons is 2 mins away and opens at 8 so cant pass judgement on it car park is next door and free for guests
This hotel is definitely more like a 3 star hotel than 3. Fridge in room with water and flapjacks. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturiser complimentary in bathroom. Robes and slippers. Huge bed. Could not fault anything.
The restaurant in the hotel was high end, top notch food. Highly recommend the steak and the duck. Staff friendly. Plenty of choice at breakfast from full English, to ham and cheese to pastries.
Free parking also. Couldn't ask for more
It is not often I write a complaint, however the experience I had with my family is worth the time,
Checkin was quick, the staff were polite, the cruise ship or liner theme was a novelty, and my daughter was impressed with the fish tank in the lobby. We were off to a good start.
We headed up to our room to drop our luggage off. As we were attending a theatre show at the Empire it was a quick in and out. Enough time for my daughter to complain to me that the bed ’smelled funny’. As we were in a rush I didn’t put too much thought into it. I wrongly shrugged off the comment of a 10 year old thinking she was just complaining for the sake out it. Kids right? Well as I found out later, I was wrong.
We returned to the hotel around 11pm. After taking a shower I pulled back the duvet on the bed closest to the door. Immediately I was hit by a foul smell. It wasn’t obvious what it was at first, but when I pulled back what looked like a clean top sheet, I found the mattress protector and the mattress largely stained with what appeared to be ’still wet’ vomit. The smell was overpowering and made us all want to throw up. I removed the sheets and called the reception.
On a positive note, someone came to the room within a few minutes. I can’t remember the chaps name but he was full of apologies (not this it was his fault) and he helped me remove the mattress from the room.
He did ask if we wanted to look at moving rooms, but it was close to midnight at this point and my daughter was already in bed in the adjoining room. I pulled the mattress and sheets etc from the unused bed in the adjoining room and into the main room.
I raised the issue with the reception staff in the morning and they told me that it has been handed over to them by the night staff.
As you can imagine I was less than impressed with my experience. How a damp mattress and badly soaked/ stained protector ends up covered with clean sheets and duvet, well that I do not have an answer for. The most important thing a hotel needs to offer is cleanliness. All other amenities are trivial if it is not clean.
First class food and service, amazing value for money and free parking in the city centre! We’ll definitely be returning.
Always a pleasure to stay at The Liner.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable.
The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help guests.
The bar and brasserie are very good too.
Highly recommend.
Great location and pleasant surroundings and very nice staff. I have booked again and I would recommend this hotel. Free car parking is a bonus.
Fantastic friendly hotel. Warm but professional welcome. Clean and comfortable room. The team were so helpful and made me feel so welcome looking forward to staying again.
The hotel is a 4 minute walk away from Line Street Station. We were allowed to book in early as there was a room (660) available. That was nice it ment we could have a rest before going out. There’s so much to see on the tv. YouTube, ITVX ,iPlayer & many more. I have never had a TV like this in a hotel room before . The pillows were soft the bathroom towels were soft. The Bed is huge . There was bath robes & slippers. The Room is modern and comfortable. The shower worked a dream. Toiletries were really nice. There was a shower cap. There was an Nespresso. Had to ask my siblings how to use it. The kettle had its own docking station. Under the station was a draw with coffee sachets, tea bags , coffee pods and sugar. Lots of power points to charge phones. I forgot our card for the room and was offered another so I didn’t have to go back up to the room. Breakfast was great. I had soya yoghurt. That’s a bonus. Never seen that in an hotel before. I was so happy I had to eat two. Soya milk I had to ask for it. I didn’t mind. They’ve got plant milk.
Me and my partner used this hotel for a get away and it was brilliant, we received an upgrade to a deluxe room and used the room service which was very spend u and had lovely food. All the advice was brilliant and they offered complementary drinks when we told them we got engaged whilst away. All questions were answer we with enthusiasm, from both me and my partner thank you so much h for such a lovely stay. We hope to come again.
stayed here for 1 night as we had a coach trip booked that had a early pick up
hotel is in a great location. did not hear much from the station even thought it was very closeby
rooms were good the onsite resturant seemed good but we had already booked elsewhere
got a good stay deal over the black friday
so great value
well worth a stay
Thank you, all the staff and entertainers. This event was exceptional. Every member of staff was professional and efficient. The meal exceeded our expectation and it was lovely to see everyone person attending had made a big effort to make the most of the evening. I don't like going back to the same place because there are so many other places on offer but this was the best NYE Event we have ever attended and are looking at booking early for this year! Plus a big thank you to the chef who took note of our requests even though the kitchen must have been mad!
Lovely hotel great location, excellent polite helpful staff.Very clean room.Would highly recommend.
Excellent for sightsighting and locality to lime street train station.
They make a big deal of trying to be like a liner but that doesn’t extend far.
The room we had was reasonably sized for a city hotel but nothing special, rather limited on power by the bed and lacking tea/coffee/toiletries.
My big issue is that most of the rooms overlook Liverpool Lime Street and as a result I became something of an expert on the movements of trains in the area from 6am to Midnight - loudly and persistently.
The “cocktail bar” was permanently in a state of “private party” and the Castaway bar a small rather naff styled room with permanent football on multiple huge screens. The only saving grace is the 2 for 1 happy hour offer.
We arrived for breakfast 30mins before end of service but the staff clearly saw us and turned and disappeared into the kitchen.
Usual faff at checkout.
Expensive for what it was and I would not use again.
We booked in the hotel for 3 nights, mainly just for a short break and to visit the Christmas Market. The price was very good, considering the location and free car parking. Checking in was very easy, and there was welcome drinks and mince pies if you waned them. Very friendly reception staff. We were in room 306, which was warm, very clean, comfy, and had the usual amenities. However it could have done with some sockets near the bed. The room was pretty quiet most of the time, but you could hear a bit of traffic noise in the morning and also the seagulls. The restaurant looked lovely, but was busy every night. The bar was located actually outside of the hotel, and was small, but had a small selection of food, and the bonus of Happy 2 hours every night... The location of the hotel was ideal for shopping, the Christmas markets, museums, theatres etc.. Will no doubt be stopping here again in the future.
The hotel is very shiny and new looking, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good. Our main quibble which prevented me giving 5 stars, was the dreadful noise. The pipes (presumably the heating) banged and clattered until quite late then woke us up at 6.00am. On top of that there was the noise of some sort of motor which went on all night. We also felt it would have been useful to have an information sheet in the room with things like the WiFi password, the times and place of breakfast etc, and more tea and coffee as there were only 2 of each.
I happened to leave something in the room and when I rang about it the next day they knew immediately what I was talking about and packaged and posted it the next day. Excellent service, thank you.
Booked 3 rooms as staying with friends. Stayed here last year no problem with rooms This year rooms 114 and 115 had a constant whirring noise that disturbed our sleep 😴 Came home shattered !
We had Afternoon tea 14th December it was lovely.
Food was fresh and very seasonal
Staff were MARVELLOUS and friendly.
We would all recommend and will return
I stayed her for 1 night on 4th December. First impressions were that it was dated but checking in staff were friendly. We were directed to a room on the 5th Floor which was dated, but clean. The heating appeared to be stuck on - it was absolutely boiling in the room but we were going out for the day and night and as we wouldn't be back until late, that the heating will have gone off by then; how wrong we were! The radiators could not be turned off or turned down, and the window only opened a couple of cm. There is no way we could have slept in that room. My husband went down to reception to ask if there was a way that we could turn the heating down - a really nice man came up to see us and I think initially thought we were maybe being slightly stupid, but soon acknowledged that it was stuck on and could not be turned off. He kindly offered for us to change rooms. He upgraded us to a superior room on the 6th floor which, upon first going in, was lovely. Again nice and clean and a VERY comfy bed, coffee machine, fridge with water - couldn't complain about that at all, however, the heating banged all night long, and I mean ALL night long. On top of that it sounded like there was a generator in the room but as it was 11pm couldn't bear the thought of changing room again! So a terrible nights sleep for both of us. We did have breakfast included - it was ok but I'd say poor quality ingredients. I'm not sure what the scrambled egg was made of but the smell was awful - almost bleach like - no idea what it was. Cheap jam and spread - for what i paid I could have stayed in a much nicer hotel. When checking out I mentioned the heating to a very grumpy lady who looked at me like I had 2 heads, and then said bruskly - I'll tell maintenance - no sorry or anything! So would I recommend staying here - sadly now, would I stay here again - most definitely not - sorry!
Very nice experience at this hotel. On check in we unfortunately hadn’t lucked out with a quiet room as requested however the receptionist was able to offer us an upgrade for a very reasonable cost, and a late check out which was hugely appreciated. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was good. Room was warm but not too warm.
My son loved the quirkiness of the hotel, and the breakfast was pretty decent as were the cocktails in the bar and general friendliness of everyone around - except for a waiter in the restaurant who is clearly in the wrong job. The restaurant manager could clearly see what was going on was about as useless as a chocolate tea cup. It’s a shame but I’ve still give the hotel a good review.
Good visit whilst in the area for the Christmas markets in Dec 25. Also Stayed here in Jan 25
Good location, price and friendly staff.
