Staybridge Suites Rockford by IHG

It wasn’t good circumstances that brought me to Staybridge Suites in Rockford. As soon as I arrived, Abby was warm, friendly, accommodating, and very helpful. It meant a lot to me, especially on a bad day, coming in from the pouring rain. She was able to get me into my room before scheduled check in, and on short notice. I could honestly write a book on how kind she was to me on my entire stay. She is amazing!!! The hotel is very lucky to have her working here.
Larcell is also amazing! He’s so incredibly friendly, personable, funny, and is always dressed sharp for work. He also made my stay here great. Anything I needed, he could produce. An uncommon charger for my headphones. A portable car battery charger. Had suggestions for car rentals and other needs. He always had just the thing! I appreciate his kindness so much.
Both of these staff are who I had the most interaction with. Both made me feel like family, at a time when I needed it most. Genuine kindness to strangers is a gift, and both have it in abundance.
Raven is also very kind, and professional. She greets everyone with a smile that makes your soul feel good.
All of the staff are wonderful.
I was confronted and accused by the head housekeeper, of hiding a dog. LOL!! She meant business. I had brought a blanket from home that apparently had dog hair all over it. She let me know it too. Every hotel needs strong women running things, and that one is a tiger! She has no problem standing her ground, and that is also an excellent trait.
The hotel is clean. The staff does an excellent job.
The food the provide is also great quality. They have excellent choices every day for breakfast. There’s always fresh fruit.
The social they have is also great. I loved the salad bar so much! Having good fresh produce available is something I really appreciated. Also that Easy Eddy IPA! Good stuff.

Things I feel could use improvement:
-The laundry facilities. The dryers take forever, like they’re clogged with lint. 2 hours to dry a small load. It’s inconvenient especially when other guests are trying to do laundry too. You could use more, and better machines.
-The pool!! It’s actually kind of gross, to be honest. The water looked kind of green. The ceiling paint is so damaged, hanging, and ready to fall into the pool. Rust everywhere, and gross looking windows.
-The TV in my room, I did not enjoy at all. Every button you push, it says out loud. I mean loud! You can’t turn it off either. It irritated me so much, I gave up and just watched my phone instead.
-The furniture in my room was also very old and dinged up. The tables were all chipped up. The box spring cover looks yellowed and off putting. My couch had what looked like a blood stain, so I never sat on it.
I feel if the hotel updates a few more things, they will be well on their way to being a 5 star facility. I’m only pointing out things I noticed in hopes they reinvest into their wonderful hotel.
I enjoyed my stay here very much. I would stay here again, and recommend it to others for sure.

The room was very comfortable and large. The bed was also comfortable. The breakfast was very good and very organized.

I truly liked everything about it

I wold have like the employee to investigate where the noise was coming from instead of calling us and tell me that there was a noise complaint because I had children on the same floor. I did enjoy the the hot bk
