We had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the Kahana Falls Resort from March 28 to April 4. Everything was excellent (even the weather was great unlike Honolulu earlier in the month). The most impressive and appreciated experience was from our interaction with Hannah, the consierge. She went out of her way to ensure that our week was totally enjoyable. Her intervention in my wife's medical situation will always be remembered with thanks.
the room was overall clean, the pull down bed was uncomfortable, enjoyed the washer/dryer, the front desk allows cats in and out of front desk area, not sure why they charge extra fees for staying there, I feel like we should get that refunded. the overall cleanliness of the property is ok. they are really strict on pool towels, so don't lose them, make sure you return to the front desk are you will be charged,,,,,
Staff was friendly and very accommodating rooms were dated but everything worked well. The hot tub was great and the pool was perfect. It made a rainy windy trip to Maui very well worth it. Beds could be more comfortable but it was a great value so no complaints there. Great location, close to the beach. Parking in maui is extremely expensive so having the proximity to the beach would save a lot of money. They also have sand toys for the kids. Would be great if they had a restaurant on site but they do have restaurants just a walk over. Would be great if they did bike rentals and hula classes but otherwise we had a fantastic time.
This place is infested with German roaches and management is dismissive and offers no recourse. Do not come here unless you want to sleep with the roaches
We (a couple) stayed in a studio unit equipped with all the kitchen and bathroom appliances needed, AC, and television with everything being functional.
We were greeted by two kitty cats in the lobby, and given informative instructions regarding our stay.
We walked across the street to sip our coffee every morning, and even saw a big Hawaiian green sea Honu (turtle).
The hotel room at Kahana Falls is a lock-off from the larger room. Clearly hear the occupants of the larger unit. Worst of all is the smell when they cooked in their unit. If you need to stay at a Kahana Falls hotel unit have solid plans that keep you out of the unit for the majority of your stay.
Overall, the hotel was clean. They have a nice gym, the pool and jacuzzi set up is very nice. Close to beach and shops. Now the negative.
I was very disappointed. First off there is NO Internet. We could not watch TV a single night. We literally watched a movie on our phone using T-Mobile data. “ supposedly because of the fires” when I asked other people in nearby resorts, they did not have this problem . Nobody answers the phone to the front desk. Just a busy signal. The TV was ancient. The room look like a basement and the window was tiny.
Average location, room very small, some furniture out dated, location of my room was unacceptable, met couple of nice employees,
This is not the big fabulous Hawaii resort style hotel. If you are looking for a clean, well-maintained, small, home away from home with a well stocked kitchen, in room laundry facilities this is a good place. Lovely pool area and grounds. Plenty of free parking. Beach is across the street. Very nice staff.
After reading other reviews and seeing photos, I had low expectations. However, upon arriving, the room was more spacious and cleaner than I expected. They just renovated the bathrooms which is appreciated. They mentioned they have plans for more renovations. It is at a similar level in quality to the other resorts in the area. It is a really great value stay. I was hoping for somewhere decent to sleep and be able to allocate more funds to excursions and meals. It definitely exceeded expectations. The beds are slightly harder than what I have at home. This lead to sore shoulders. I’m sure others like firm beds, so that’s a personal preference. There are certainly more luxurious places to stay on the island if you’re willing to pay for it. I would consider staying here again.
Roaches Everywhere.. Had to leave as this place doesn't even pick them up when they're dead. My wife and I tried to stay here and just could not.
Our room was in the back in a two-story building that looked like an old Motel 6 with no balcony or view. When we booked on our trip we should have been told that our room was not in one of the two main towers. Very disappointed in the accommodations and location. What a terrible waste of our RCI points.
Kahana Falls is a great place to Vacation, their pool is beautiful and the location to the perfect float all day with turtles beach is the most!
Laundry, safe friendly,
Older room had a bit of a musty smell to it wifi was not that great. The outside was beautiful pool area. Loved the cats and the chicken. The concierge was annoying kept sendjng invodes to rw ook everyday. Even though i stated i was not interested.
We had a week RCI exchange for a hotel room and it was the worst exchange of our 20 years in RCI. The room was at the base of a loading dock with one small window viewing the public elevator = no privacy. The room was extremely small, would barely get around queen bed. Dingy bedding, smelly. Bathroom was small but remodeled. Do not book this place it is not at all worth the fee or points!
Location is decent. Staff is friendly. The facilities are just ok. The rooms are small and felt a little dinghy. The shared laundry space has broken machines and was not clean. The exercise room is hot but the equipment is fine.
Love the Customer Service!
We had the worst experience- do not stay here. It’s not along the water- First and foremost do not trust the pictures on the Expedia listing which I have no doubt the property provides. We got put in the tiniest room- looked like a motel room. The bathroom was bigger than any other area. When I contacted Expedia and they reached out to the property they told me I could “pay more to be moved.” The room was awful you are below ground level. Just awful. I would never stay here again and we go to Maui 1x a year.
In addition we had to rent beach chairs which is fine except the one I rented was completely broken the metal was broken…. So when I brought it back I told them they should retire it’s which they acknowledged but said nothing else. Not sorry for the inconvenience nothing.
Then Hannah from the front desk reached out offering a package and gift card for our troubles which was the same offer if you sat through the seminar….so I was like wow that’s very generous…but the watch was I still had to sit at the seminar! Every guest gets this offer so this was nothing being offered to me for my dissatisfaction with the accommodations.
We checked out on Sunday, and came home- within the week Hannah did say she was approved to give us the gift card and package without the seminar - and I texted her back that we had already checked out. Haven’t heard from them since and I feel I have adequate time for anyone to try and rectify the situation and they didn’t.
This was our first trip to Maui. The resort wa easy to find and located in a lesser traveled area. Not on the beach, but less than a minute walk to a gorgeous one. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had everything needed to sustain us for a week. The photos were a true reflection of the resort. Great time.
