I liked the rooms and location although my mother-in-laws room smelled like a dog.
I would not stay at the Westin National Harbor again.
The hotel now charges a mandatory $25 per room “destination fee” that was not clearly disclosed beforehand. While they say you can use it as a credit at the hotel bar or restaurant, the catch is that it must be used on the day you check in. If you arrive late or already have dinner plans outside the hotel—as many travelers do—that credit becomes essentially worthless.
In my case, I had two rooms, so I ended up paying an extra $50 for a benefit I couldn’t use. It felt more like a hidden fee than a value-added amenity. Hotels should be transparent about these charges and provide a more reasonable timeframe for guests to use any credits they’re forced to pay for.
Very disappointing experience, and it’s enough reason for me not to return.

Everything was great
There's always so much to like about any given Westin but the highlights are:
- the night time view of the harbor is just stunning
- they're added perk packages are good although you'll see below check on the added fees and the times when you can use them
- this is any Weston but I love the lavender oil at the bedside and the tranquil designs
- Sauciety is also quite good and rather reasonable for a hotel restaurant
I liked everything about the location and the hotel. There were a lot of hidden charges that could have been explained up front. It's already expensive to stay in National Harbor so it was surprising to have an extra $25 in fees.

When we arrived we were informed our reservation was not in their system despite the fact I was able to pull up multiple confirmations in my end.
Very comfortable bed - slept great. Good size room. Excellent river view. Good water pressure in the shower. Nice gym with a nice view. Pretty decent restaurant with good service. Superb location right next to a Starbucks and plenty of other restaurants and shopping.
TV didn't work. Hotel is showing its age. Limited toiletry amenities.
