Secluded and clean
Great location. Next to everything! Very clean! Pool was open 24 hours. Very friendly staff.
Nothing
Prachtige locatie! Vriendelijk personeel
Verbeterpunt: een leuk ontbijt!!
The spa
Nothing, everything was amazing
Everything. The staff is friendly, the room is clean and cozy, the bathroom is comfortable, there's water with lime for everyone to use in public areas, the tv in the room has a good selection of channels... what's not to like?
The AC in the room could get a bit a colder.
What a great start to our stay! Staff was very friendly and helpful when we arrived earlier than expected. The facility is well appointed with nice touches throughout: water, and pool attendant with drinks and complimentary coffee and candy bar in the lobby. The room is clean and updated with a roomy interior and a lot of charm. The poolside courtyard is lovely with flora and fauna well maintained.
Very friendly staff and a retro vibe. They have a great pool and hot tub.
The boxed breakfast was not great. You don’t really have a window in the room unless you don’t mind people being able to look in when they walk by the outside corridor.
Our stay at the Andreas Hotel was our worse ever, and my husband and I are well-travelled people. The Andreas Hotel cannot avoid being noisy as it is sandwiched between two heavy trafficked streets (and when I called to make reservations I pointedly stated that we needed a really quiet and restful getaway). But the noise issue is compounded by the Hotel's insistence to loudly pump music throughout the hotel and pool area from 10:00 AM through 10:00 PM...when we asked them to turn this music off they refused although we and one other couple trying to relax by the pool asked for the music to be turned off. The Andreas Hotel advertises that breakfast is included but they do not have an onsite restaurant and the breakfast breadbox is full of highly processed sugar-laden junk food. The decor of the Hotel is dark and dated. To add insult to injury, the Andreas Hotel charges a resort fee although this is a tiny hotel with an unappealing pool as the single amenity (spa services for a fee in dark and equally unappealing rooms). Within a few hours of our arrival we observed everything I state here and asked to be permitted to check out without being charged for the remaining days of our stay,..The Andreas Hotel refused!!! Don’t believe the hype as that is all it is.
This Hotel & Spa should advertise as a “Hotel and Occasionally Open Spa”, even though the GM Gina will lie to your face about it. Just look at their website where it doesn’t mention anywhere that the spa closes typically on Wednesdays and sometimes on Tuesdays if they are having a slow week. No one would mind booking if they actually understood that as it was stated somewhere as opposed to simply deceiving everyone.
The same goes for their Rare-find Poolside Bar…Rarely open even though the GM proudly boasts that it is open daily until 5pm….just not every day because it’s only open Thursday to Sunday….but you know…”daily” to Gina means something different than what all the rest of us might think.
So if planning a midweek trip to enjoy the spa and poolside bar, ya ain’t gonna be happy. Even if you plan it like I did, researching properties weeks in advance, yet not place the booking until a day or two before due to a very busy work schedule, the staff will be happy to blame the lack of amenities that they are deliberately deceiving people with, on the fact that you booked last minute. The front desk person, and the GM both stated “that this is what happens when you book last minute.” What? So you are saying that you are allowed to grossly misrepresent your establishment and the customer has to just suck it up due to your cancellation policy? Well surprise Gina…that’s not how it works in CA. You didn’t deliver on your end, thus voiding out the contract. Good luck getting paid on it!
Great location downtown.
Excellent customer service. Krystal and Kiki were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Small boutique hotel.
Simple continental box breakfast included.
Highly overrated and expensive for a 3 star hotel.
- Tissues are not offered in rooms.
- $3 charge for bottled water, something that most every hotel in the area includes in the room rate. Very disappointing.
- Poor housekeeping. The one time the staff performed it, they simply threw the bed together, pillows thrown by the headboard, not placed. They also didn't bother to open the coffee cabinet to clean the area, discard used coffee pods and refill and wash the used coffee cups.
-Access to second floor somewhat difficult. The stairs seem to have been built slanted, not flat, making walking up a balancing act. No elevator appears to be available.
-Pool area very small with limited number of unbrellas available to guard from a strong hot sun. This was my first time staying at this hotel and the last time. Considering the booking.com rating of 9.1 and "wonderful' and the over $400 per night rate, I expected a truly excellent stay. My experience was far from wonderful..The hotel is old, though well-maintained, but just a decent 3 star hotel that should cost $200 or less per night. I've stayed in various hotels downtown that offer a superior experience and are reasonably priced in the 200 - $300 range. The excellent location downtown is its real selling point.
Location was great!
Breakfast was prepackaged bagel/oatmeal/clementine/cheese stick - a lot of food which is nice but none very good and grows old fast!
The staff were very helpful and tried their best to accommodate our requests. Our first room was lovely and spacious, but the second room had no privacy as there was no wall separating the bathtub and the bedroom.
Our biggest complaint is the "breakfast box" which served as the "breakfast included" in the hotel rate. The box was an insult and better suited to a handout for a hike at a summer camp. "Breakfast included" should be deleted from the hotel description.
It is very charming, beautiful and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and accommodating
We had a beautiful suite—unfortunately the French doors that overlooked the main street did not keep the street noise at bay. A lot of noise coming up from the street all nightht
This is the worst hotel experience I ever had. I reserved and canceled far in advance of mg reserved date and they still grabbed my money and refused to return it. They were rude and obnoxious to deal with. Awful horrible hotel. Also the grounds at the hotel are claustrophobic, enjoy swimming in a tiny pool with all the guests at all the rooms right up close watching you. Not a good property or location.
Perfect, downtown location. Staff was great, rooms delightful.
The resort was absolutely beautiful, we had a balcony overlooking Palm Canyon rd, could barley hear the traffic, the Spa was top notch. Would recommend to anyone.
The from desk receptionist was able to switch our room to the first floor rather easily, which I thought was very great.
The bagels are good but breakfast can be improved. Adding eggs and bacon 🥓 to the menu would be nice!
