**Beautiful Hotel, Terrible Guest Experience**

We were really disappointed with our stay. The location is excellent, and the hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. Almost every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, one person managed to completely overshadow all of that: Karl.

Karl seemed determined to micromanage our entire experience, particularly around the pool. No outside food or beverages. No floaties in the pool. And, apparently, guests are not allowed to move the umbrellas—even when the temperature is 112 degrees and you're simply trying to create some shade. During the off-season, when the pool area was far from crowded, it was especially difficult to understand why the umbrellas were apparently there for decoration rather than shade.

Karl would literally come out of his office if he saw you holding food or a drink while walking through the pool area. At one point, we were leaving to go to dinner with an unopened bottle of wine in our possession. We stopped briefly to talk to friends who were still in the pool, and Karl came out of his office to tell us we had to leave the pool area.

When we questioned the reasoning, his response was essentially a grin, a shrug, and repeated variations of “That’s the rules.”

To be clear, the rules themselves are not the problem. Hotels are entitled to have rules, and guests should respect reasonable policies. The problem was HOW Karl chose to enforce them. His constant monitoring and condescending manner made us feel less like paying guests and more like children being watched for misbehavior.

A beautiful hotel with a great location and otherwise wonderful staff should be a place where guests feel welcome. Instead, our experience was overshadowed by one manager who seemed far more interested in enforcing every minor rule than in making guests feel comfortable.

Fortunately, there are plenty of other hotels in Palm Springs. Based on this experience, we will never stay here again.

Beautiful atmosphere and loved the welcome and thank you cards! A bit of nostalgia goes a long way! Staff were also super friendly and welcoming, we will be back (but hopefully in the spring instead of summer) lol.

This is a boutique hotel that’s really quaint. The staff is really excellent and I love this place. I come back here every time we come back to Palm Springs.

I was visiting Palm Springs alone and felt very safe. The property was in a perfect location. Parking was free and convenient. I loved the charm
of the property and how spacious the rooms were. This is a perfect space for a quiet weekend. The staff were friendly. They actually walked me to my room and showed me around the unit. The coffee bar and candy bar are an added touch.

Was hit with hidden fees, an animal living in the walls kept me up all night, and no one asked how my stay was.
