Great location and reasonably priced for Brighton. Staff were friendly and helpful
parking around there is expensive. The hotel was clean but dated, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty sub standard, very basic and limited.
Excellent location and very polite and helpful staff.
Our bedding was very clean but we did have a hole in the sheet. The shower door had a broken roller which meant we showered with the door open (not a huge problem).
Excellent staff and location! Amenities were also fine
Great location
No air conditioning
Excellent little hotel in a great location opposite the i360 - short walk to the beach, bars and restaurants and opposite a green space - our room had sea views which was nice. Very friendly staff, on reception and in the breakfast area and having read some of the other reviews i was anticipating a few problems but really nothing too much to complain about - we will be back next year!
I always prefer a shower but there was a handheld shower head in the bath but not the end of the world. No AC in the rooms but fan provided so for a 2 star hotel this was really good value
The location was excellent and we had a ground floor room which was perfect as my husband has difficulty in walking the breakfast was really good a good choice of food
The room didn’t have a fridge which we could have done with
The lift was scary!
The only positive thing was the location. The hotel is very close to the beach, which made it easy to enjoy Brighton on foot.
Unfortunately, almost everything else was disappointing. On arrival, our room was not ready because the staff had not finished cleaning it, even though check-in time had already passed.
Our room was located in what felt like a basement. There was a strong musty smell throughout the room, and by the end of our stay all of our clothes smelled of dampness.
The Wi-Fi was extremely poor, and there was almost no mobile phone signal in the room.
The first time we left the hotel, we couldn’t lock the room door. After asking at reception for help, the receptionist immediately brought out a special door handle and said many guests had the same problem. If the hotel is aware of this issue, guests should be informed or shown how to use it during check-in.
The windows could only be opened with a screw. When I opened one, my hand became covered in dirt. The windows and door handles looked extremely old and outdated.
Two electrical sockets in the room did not work. The shower was another major disappointment – the water only came from the overhead shower, there was no proper control, and adjusting the water temperature was extremely difficult.
Overall, the room felt old, poorly maintained, and uncomfortable. If someone likes very basic and outdated accommodation, this hotel might suit them, but I certainly would not stay here again.
