Good unit with enough space for two couples

Good location, easy 10 minute walk to Main Street shops and restaurants. Easy 10 minute walk to beach.
Friendly management.
Decor is tired and needs a refresh. We had issues with dripping tap, which was fixed, but the compressor noise from fridge was not.
Shower head is old leaky and low, so you need to stoop to get head under the shower, bathroom generally needs refresh - old fashioned and worn.
Good pool.
Overall good location, good pool but rooms are tired and not what I’d call 4 star more like 3.

We have just completed 4 wonderful days at the Freestyle. We arrived with a friendly and informative welcome from Anne who made sure we got settled in and got the most from our time in Port Douglas. Throughout our stay Anne was always available & willing to answer any questions and went beyond by checking our pick up times for all our trips. The facilities are brilliant, a super swimming pool, clean rooms and added benefit of a kitchen area. It was so nice to stay in a resort that was so personal, and genuine outstanding customer service. No hesitation in recommending this establishment. Thank you Anne Ian & Gaynor

We stayed at this hotel in early May as our last stop after travelling around Australia.
Anne was very welcoming and helpful upon arrival. She recommended local restaurants, places to go, and offered to call and reconfirm any of our trips and transfers. She also offered advice on the weather conditions which helped us to move our reef trip to a much better day.
The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Beach towels were provided, which we were also able to take on trips.
The location was excellent and only a short walk to Macrossan Street and all the local cafes and restaurants.
We had a 6pm flight on the day we left and were kindly offered a late checkout so we could enjoy the last of our time there without having to worry about our bags.
We would definitely return!

Nice room

Anne on recption gives a wonderful welcome, advising best trips, places to eat , drink etc. The apartments are spotless and very roomy. Lovely pool. Very quiet setting, though very close to beach and town. Loved it.

Great spot, just a 5 minute walk to the Main Street. Close enough to not have to have a car and far enough from the noise. Beautiful Aussie rooms, Anne was lovely, with some great recommendations for the time to spend up here. Would definitely return on my next visit.

Ideal for its location, close enough to the shopping centre to be practical, for enough away to be peaceful.
Excellent value for our 5 night stay.

Lovely stay at the Freestyle. The owners are super helpful and very passionate and knowledgable about the area too. It was super quiet when we stayed so we had the pool to ourselves most days which was great. Our room was looking a little dated and and maybe in need of a little upgrade. (I think some roos were being done whilst we were there). However, I wouldn't let that put you off staying. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 6 nights over Christmas.

Ann gave us a very friendly welcome, providing us with lots of information on the local area.

We had a room overlooking the back of the hotel, as Ann said it would be quieter than overlooking the pool as families staying. The view was into the trees and into the next property, not the best views, but appreciated the sentiment for the allocation.

Furniture and mattress in our room all recently replaced, so fresh and clean.

The kitchen has a small hob and combination microwave, we would have preferred to have a small oven, but that is our personal choice.

There is a BBQ on site, we didnt use as it didnt look very clean, plus wasnt sure how it would work if lots of guests wanted to use at a similar time.

About 10 minutes walk from restaurants and marina. 5 minute walk to the beach.

Swimming pool was nice, and a good way to cool off on return from day trips.

Overall enjoyed our stay, slightly better kitchen facilities would have made it a 5/5 for us, but would recommdend as a good place to stay.

The location is great. Walking distance to the shops, cafes and bars. The pool was nice and the staff friendly.

The owners were absolutely lovely and really helpful. The pool was beautiful and the rooms were nice and clean.

I had a lovely relaxing stay at the Freestyle Resort. Anne was very welcoming and arranged my airport transfers for me and organised for my Coles online delivery to be put away before I arrived which much appreciated. Was very nice to have some food waiting for me when I arrived. My apartment was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The pool area was beautiful and inviting and the water was like a warm bath. Absolutely lovely! Great location too, just a 10 minute stroll from the main street and about 7-8 minutes from the beach. A great place to stay that's not super expensive.
