The property is perfectly located for anyone visiting the thunder basin national grassland. The grassland is a historic and unique part of our environment. It is kind of a cross between dances with wolves and Lonesome Dove!
The room was very clean and we were able to park very close to the doorway. There is a 24 hour restaurant. We will definitely be returning.
Horrible place to stay… will never stay here again
Good quality food
Soft and comfortable beds
Room was decent, beds are ok. The little cafe out front was neat.
Great property
In a very area
Bill Wyoming…
Clean and quiet. Good price. Full beds, no kings. Check in to the hotel at the 24 hour diner. Ate at the diner. Good food and great service.
Working class motel. Next to a working railroad track servicing the largest coal mines in the USA. So if you are looking for an industrial dystopia this is the place for you. The hotel could use a refresh but then again we got the sense that the weather in Bill WY near the Thunder Basin is brutal. The staff was incredibly friendly and well intentioned. Travelodge should provide them with snappy uniforms. The dress code could be upgraded.
Very clean
I give this 5 stars because for a two star hotel they did a really nice job! This is in the middle of nowhere and we were so happy it was there. The roads were in bad shape and this wonderful hotel saved us from a terrible night. And we got to have dinner which was a huge plus as the closest restaurants are 15 miles away.
Did not appreciate being double charged. Still trying to get refund.
It was perfect for a one night's stay with easy check-in, good wifi, a convenient 24-hour diner, free cold waters, a Precor Elliptical, and quiet night's sleep at a reasonable price.
Nothing.
1. The lady in the reception lobby in the diner, she gave us two double beds when our reservation is for a two queen beds. She found the name in the reservation, printed the form for me to sign, I saw it was for two double bed, we are 5 in the family, can’t fit in two double bed. She said they don’t have what the online reservation gives. Why she didn’t mention the beds before printing out? Glad I read it before I signed. I said we won’t check in if it’s not two queen beds. Then that’s the time she arranged for us to have a two queen bed room. What kind of service is that? Is she trying to trick us? It was reserved November 2023, if they don’t have two queen bed room, then why wait until the check in time Aug 5, 2024 before letting us know so we can make changes early? She almost check us in, giving us a two double bed room that we didn’t reserved for and not letting us know.
2. They ask for $25 deposit upon checking in. It’s been 5days since we left and the deposit is not returned. We took a photo before we left. Everything is there, no stains whatsoever and we are not smokers, we didn’t even use their hotel’s shampoo and soap. They didn’t return our deposit.
3. Very weak wifi.
4. This hotel is a Wyndham hotel but unlike other Wyndham hotel, they don’t offer free breakfast.
I’m not coming back in this hotel for the next Gillette pathfinder camporee.
Nice property in the middle of no where
The hotel is amazing
People are amazing
Also the food ❤️
The Staff was very helpful, and went out of the way to ensure we had all we needed. It was convenient having a 24 hour diner service, and the food was good and cooked fresh quickly.
The location was one hour plus out from where our main activities were taking place in Gillette. It made driving back and forth a challenge. However availability was scarce in Gillette and we were grateful that we even found lodging.
Dawn is beyond amazing as manager. I felt welcomed and supported. She is friendly and knowledgeable. Peaceful, middle of nowhere on highway. Loved my room. Penny's Diner is open 24 hrs. Cute
I want to stay longer...
The location is unbeatable as it is on the way from Salt Lake City to the Black Hills of SD. We've stayed here twice now and although it is pretty standard with no fancy ammenities it is always clean, functional and quiet. The staff is very friendly.
The bathrooms could stand to be updated some day and being able to enter from the sides of the building would be a nice upgrade (rather than merely exiting from the sides).
