Location poor
Arranged a taxi for us at airport . 3 times the normal price
Business hotel . Japanese Restaurant closed . Limited places to eat
Очень вежливый персонал.Максимальный комфорт
Все было отлично
We stayed 2 nights with a 10-month old as an Intercontinental Ambassador Platinum Elite and had a wonderful stay. The service was efficient and friendly. The hotel even had a real, non-travel crib for my baby setup in the room upon arrival, which was the best crib we have ever received in a hotel! My baby slept the best he did across the 5 hotels we stayed at in Japan. As an Ambassador, we received the nightly turndown service. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, with both Western and Japanese options as well as made-to-order omelettes. The hotel is conveniently located just a short stroll on the skybridge to Shinagawa station.
Just checked into the Strings and everything feels a bit meh. I’m a IHG ambassador & platinum member and was told at check in that my room was “upgraded” but it doesn’t feel like an upgrade. Room is ok and the bathroom is tiny. Both spaces feel dated. Location is still a big plus and it’s handy to be steps away from Shinagawa Station.
I recently completed a brief one-night stay at InterContinental The Strings Tokyo. From a service execution standpoint, the front desk team operated flawlessly. Communication was highly efficient due to their fluent English, and their professionalism was evident. I specifically stress-tested their patience by repeatedly confirming the complimentary mini-bar policy, and they responded consistently with a professional, "shokunin" (craftsman-like) demeanor every single time.
I want to highlight three key personnel who significantly elevated our user experience:
Miss Ishida: Demonstrated excellent logistical care. She handled our luggage storage with high attention to detail, provided a clear overview of the hotel’s key features, and proactively managed the seamless transfer of our bags to our room.
Kenny: Provided outstanding customer engagement. He clearly outlined the terms of use for the meal vouchers, offered valuable local weather insights, and recommended the hotel’s signature dining options. I also appreciated his proactive assistance in escorting us to the elevators, ensuring we understood the lobby's keycard security protocol—a great security feature I hadn't seen in other IHG properties.
Miss Honda: I must formally apologize to Miss Honda. Due to a momentary oversight, I ignored her initial service prompt and went straight to the IHG priority lane. Despite my error, her service recovery and attitude remained exceptionally polite and professional. Moreover, she provided excellent "technical support" by patiently guiding me step-by-step through the IHG mobile app to successfully activate and confirm my digital meal voucher.
The team here delivers a perfectly optimized balance of efficiency, security, and warm hospitality. I would return without hesitation.
It’s a beautiful hotel, very well located next to Shinagawa Station, on the upper floors of a 36-story building with stunning views over the city. Despite its central location, it is remarkably quiet and very comfortable. The rooms are of a high standard and equipped with all the amenities you may need. The hotel team is exceptionally helpful and friendly. I highly recommend it.
Very much a business hotel. A very nice one though.
Decore is lovely.
Views are good especially from the lobby.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Very convenient for Haneda, taxi was about £40 and took 30mins.
The website lists loads of restaurants but they dont seem to exist. There is just one area in the lobby for food and drinks.
Not a huge amount of things locally. We stayed for our last night to be near airport so took a taxi for dinner in Minato city.
Absolutely lovely, from the room, to the pyjamas, the Club Lounge, and the staff.
Highly recommend.
Everything was perfect, as always. What truly sets this hotel apart is the remarkable sense of silence, tranquility, and calm throughout, combined with discreet yet highly attentive service.
The location is unbeatable: right next to Shinagawa Station, offering seamless access to all areas of Tokyo as well as direct connections to the rest of Japan via the Shinkansen.
Occupying the top six floors of a very tall building, the hotel boasts stunning views, and the interior design is simply beautiful—elegant, refined, and impeccably maintained.
The culinary offering is also excellent, with a wide variety of high-quality options to choose from.
If I had to mention one minor drawback, it would be that the duvet can feel a bit too warm unless the room is kept at a relatively low temperature. This can easily be adjusted, although it’s not entirely to my personal preference.
That said, this is truly an exceptional hotel, and I will definitely return.
We loved our stay ❤️ it was our 2nd stay and the service, staff and professionalism is always appreciated 👏 you went beyond making our stay very memorable 💙
We love the lounge. Everything is clean, well decorated and you made my friend's birthday!
Unfortunately he had a health problem and thank you again for helping with everything.
See you soon 😊
A very nice peaceful hotel. Good restaurant.
Schönes Hotel mit guter Anbindung an Shinagawa Station.
Grandiose Aussicht und sehr freundliches Personal.
I have stayed here multiple times while in transit through Haneda Airport as it is a 15-minute ride from the airport on the Keikyu line if you take the express train, or a shortish cab ride that will not break the bank.
Booked a premium king club lounge room for 2 nights. Not a big room but OK for a short stay. A lot of space is taken up by the bathroom, leaving the bedroom quite cluttered and poky. Unremarkable urban views - this time we faced another building so blinds down all the time.
The buffet breakfast in the main restaurant never disappoints, and the ambience of public areas is nice.
This was the first time splurging on club lounge access and it was not worth it. While the club lounge was a nice space, I did not experience personal service or helpfulness with simple requests, afternoon tea is ho hum (stale food) and the short happy hour is quite basic food wise - showy presentation but not tasty or generous. However, there was a decent variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drink options.
If your benchmark is a US hotel club lounge you will probably think this one is fabulous, but by international 5-star standards it is not. Rice crackers, peanuts and chocolate bits are all you will find in the lounge for much of the day.
