Relaxing week ☀️
Pros:

I just arrived from my holiday in Fuerteventura. I had a nice and relaxing time in this hotel.
The best thing about this hotel is the Staff. They will do everything to make your stay special and they do it with the smile. They are doing a great job!
There was a nice surprise left in the fridge on my birthday, which made my stay even more special. Thank you!😊
The food was lovely. Lots of variety and very tasty. Lots of fish food options and salads that I like. Freshly pressed juice selection on breakfast was my favourite!
Cleaning service is every day, rooms are clean and in good size.
The only downside is that the room is dated, but this is not what I came for.
My room was with the ocean view and plenty of sunshine.
If you need to take a break from the busy life in the relaxing atmosphere with the beautiful views, glorious sunshine, good food and fantastic service & spa, this place is perfect for you!
I would definitely come back.

Perfect if you are German
Pros:

Perfect if you are German!! If you are English think twice before you book. The hotel caters for the German nobody else gets a look in. Very unhappy customers

Nice vacation
Pros:

I am finishing my 14 days stay from 12 till 26 January 2026, room 316 in the main building. All-in-all I would gladly recommend this hotel !
Positives:
Location in a small quiet village, just by the beach with black sand. Hotel just for adults.
In my opinion it is very clean, all areas and gardens are very tidy and well maintained.
Entertainment is not overloaded, disco every evening till midnight. Very professional staff, working fast and still being kind and helpful.
I wonder about some remarks on food; for me it is really delicious, lots of variety, I especially enjoyed all types of see-food and Spanish specialties like jamon and cheese. Also very nice fresh fruit drink during breakfast. One of the outdoor swimming pools is heated.
Small remarks:
Nicer welcome of the reception staff would be a kind improvement for hotel's image 😊
In my opinion the fee of 3 euro/day to rent a safe is by far exaggerated as well as the payment for using the thermal pool at the spa area.
Drinks are just on the edge of acceptable, the genuine drinks are to be paid too much.
And a small advise to the cooks: please check
any video how to prepare pork lion (for example in Poland) and not to damage it as you currently do.

Christmas break
Pros:

We went for a Christmas break, on arrival our experience with reception etc was great, our room was not ready which was understandable as we arrived about 1:00 pm, We found the hotel to be a little tired here and there, room cleaning was a bare minimum, the hotel lacked an atmosphere all
though effort was made regarding decorations and lights, we felt it was soulless, I’m guessing the time of year decided the food choices which wasn’t a great deal, don’t think we will go again.

Birthday Holiday
Pros:

Defiantly book the romantic suites if you can’t get a sea view room as the area and the rooms make the experience so much more special.

Disappointing
Pros:

We have just arrived back after spending a week there for Christmas, the hotel was clean but tired, the food choice was limited and boring, there was burnt pizza available every day whether it was lunchtime or dinner time. The room safe was charged at €3 per day and the spa/jacuzzi was €20 per person for 1.5 hours.
There was absolutely NO effort made to create a Christmas atmosphere, the cleaners were very loud from about 07.30 in the morning, we go abroad almost every Christmas and I must say that this was our worst experience. There simply was no effort at all by the hotel management to organise anything!!!

Sadly disappointed...
Pros:

Our stay at this hotel was hugely disappointing. The day we arrived they could not even find our booking. We were told "you're not booked with us" even though my husband had the email confirmation. Finally they realised that someone had misspelled his first name and that was what they saved our booking under.

The noise outside the balcony went on throughout the day, and the smoking area was directly below our room, making it extremely unpleasant to sit outside. We had specifically booked a junior suite with a sea view—the only reason we chose this hotel—only to be told on arrival that none were available. Instead, we ended up with a balcony facing a brick wall, right next to the smoking area. When we complained, we were simply told, “there is nothing we can do.” Plus we requested a double bed and was given 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single bedding and 2 separate single thin sheets to cover ourselves with. We thought this was just us, but turns out this is their standard "double". Loss count of the times we feel in-between both beds.

The room itself was very basic. It was relatively clean, but places like under the bed, chairs, and tables were covered in dust. There was no coffee machine and no water provided beyond a single bottle given at check-in. Reception informed us it was our responsibility to refill it every day if we wanted drinking water - quite unbelievable in a hot country.

Although all drinks were included, hot drinks were served in paper cups, and proper glasses were only available in the dining area. Most of the staff were lovely, especially the cleaning team, but the reception staff were the complete opposite—miserable, dismissive, and shockingly rude. One of them even commented, “she is a cleaner and probably doesn’t understand English,” which was not only disrespectful but completely wrong, as she understood me perfectly and was far more pleasant than the receptionist who said it.

The food was mostly cold, though there were several fish options which seemed popular with the older guests—around 90% of whom were over 70. We also saw a few roaches around the property; most were dead, likely because of the many cats roaming the grounds. No snacks available between meals... many guests were seen making sandwiches during breakfast and packing them away to have by the pool.

Overall, this was a huge letdown. This is more like a 2* highend hotel (with a beautiful sea view - if those rooms are available). We would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

Mixed feelings
Pros:

We are here now staying in room 344 and have mixed feelings. The food is good quality and choice, the restaurant staff are all friendly. The reception are also friendly. There are some very rude staff, in the SPA a receptionist Paola shouts at arriving guests with a unwelcoming tone, telling them its €20 to use the indoor pool, she is very abrupt and doesnt make you feel welcome, so we left and will not return. There are other problems at this hotel, the main one being the pool area is very small with sunbeds so close together, only a small number get sun due to shade from the buildings. Its made worse by the hotel allowing German guests to reserve sunbeds with towels the night before/early hours of the morning, but don't use the beds until lunchtime. The hotel reception know this is a problem, but don't want to upset the German clients, telling us they worry if they move towels they cause problems. So, each day, despite being up at 8am we have sat on the rocky beach because there is nowhere in the hotel to sit. Previous reviews the hotel management comment they are making improvements with sunbeds - but clearly nothing is being done. The pool attendants do nothing to help this situation. The rooms are clean and good standard, our maid Jessica does a brilliant job keeping the room clean and the views of the sea are beautiful. However, be aware this is a very very quiet resort, there is nothing here other than the hotel and a short promenade walk with no cafe bars, we do like this, however with nowhere to sit by the pool in the sunshine, it's spoilt the experience. The rooms are nice, some staff are friendly but the negative points with rude Paula at the Spa and the hotel not managing the sunbed situation means we wont return - because there is nowhere to relax. Book somewhere else and have yourself a brilliant trip.

Amazing
Pros:

I can truly say I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It’s definitely an adults-only resort, which I love. The beach is right in front of the hotel, and there are plenty of pools to choose from. The food options were top tier — no complaints at all.

Our room was very comfortable, with great AC and a large bed. You can even bring your Firestick to plug in, as the WiFi works perfectly in the room. They also provided space outside to hang our towels after using the pool or beach, which was really convenient.

There are cats around the hotel, but they were never an issue — they mind their own business if you mind yours. The receptionist who checked us in was warm and welcoming, which made a great first impression.

My husband and I both said we would definitely return and stay even longer next time. We’d love to bring more adults with us so they can experience the warm atmosphere and hospitality we received.

A big thank you to all the staff for such a pleasant stay. It’s been a long time since I’ve visited a hotel and felt it was truly worth every moment.

Lovely break
Pros:

Home from a lovely relaxing weeks stay.
Yes it is remote in a quiet little village but hotel has everything needed for a relaxed break. Great staff-attentive and hard working. Lots of variety of food avaliable to suit all tastes. Varied entertainment. Well equipped gym overlooking beach.
We were in the Romantica section, unfortunately the pool was out of order but work in progress. Bonus of this area was having access to jacuzzi & sauna with snack bar and more chilled so no issue getting a sunbed.
Easy to get a bus to Morro Jable only 3.5 euros each way would recommend a visit.
Would recommend this hotel, don't be put off by negative reviews as I was, judge for yourself.

R2 Bahia Player Spa hotel-Fuerteventura
Pros:

My friend and I were so terribly disappointed with the Bahia Player Spa hotel on Fuerteventura that we asked to be moved almost immediately. The hotel posted pics of a lovely beach area but it was nowhere to be found. There was a beach with black sand and boulders, no loungers and nowhere to get a drink. Their pool area was taken over by the German clients who got up at stupid o clock to mark their sun loungers with their towels, claiming ownership for the rest of the day. The food was below average, no real care, no flavour, no real interest in their customers needs. No milk( in rooms or dinning room) no brown sugar. Many evenings we left the dinning room totally underwhelmed. The drinks( supposedly free with all inclusive) were often undrinkable, often from a tap( so called cocktails). When you complain, the whole attitude is, what do you expect for “all inclusive “. If you want named brands, you must pay. No one expected named brands but others that are considerably cheaper are available. The customers were seen as purely walking money. Such a bitter disappointment. Hotel refuses to compensate us. Told lies. Boycott this disgrace masquerading as a 4😂 star hotel.

Ok
Pros:

Overall nice hotel, however it’s noisy. Cleaners start cleaning the apartments from
6am.
We had to move rooms after first night as we were out next to cleaning office.
Rooms are tired and need maintenance we had a leak in our bathroom.
It’s mainly for Germans and French and very few English. Germans put towels on the sunbeds by 5am and by 6 am you cannot get a sunbed around the pool. They are also not friendly to the English!! If you haven’t got a junior suite with a great balcony would will not have anywhere to sunbath.
Alcoholic drinks aren’t great and by 11pm you have to pay.
Beach is volcanic sand and rocky to go out. But if you walk further down it’s better. We hired a car and went to some beautiful beaches. There is only a spa and couple of restaurants in the village. If you want to look around you need a car! We hired on from the hotel no deposit £186 three days The hotel is fine if you’re there for a nice relaxing break and the sun. It’s a must to book junior suite as you’ll be lucky to get a spot around the pool.

Will not return
Pros:

The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere, there is literally a Spar supermarket a few minutes walk away and that’s it. Take medical supplies with you as the nearest chemist is 5 miles away!
The entertainment is poor and unfortunately it takes place indoors inside a horrible dingy nightclub. There were groups of young teenagers drinking heavily and knocking over tables and drinks and being a nuisance, I thought it was adults only! Shall not be returning.

Food and drink dreadful. Do not recommend.
Pros:

Stayed 7 nights. Check in we were not told about cost of safe, how to change towels. Minimal exchange from man on reception. The room was ok, clean, but cracked floor tiles, dated and the glass into the bath room is strange. I don’t really want to see anyone on the loo!! Air con not cold enough. To get a bed in the sun you have to be down to put towel on bed by 8am. The food I would not serve to my dog! The bread is ok, and the pizza in the evening. The fish is cooked on the grill in the evening but we don’t eat fish. The food is freezing cold. We go away 3 times a year. Always 4* and never had food this bad. Meat is the worst quality you could imagine. Absolutely vile. The drinks coke etc fine but the alcohol is not great and worst of all cocktails from a machine, just pure sugar. Nothing else around the hotel, just a spar shop, and what looked like a back alley restaurant. No cafe or bar. Good bits hotel was clean and some days the evening entertainment was ok. The sun shone! Would 100% not go back or recommend. I read bad reviews before I went. I messaged the hotel they said none of this was true, but every bad review you read is 100% true!

A wonderful stay!
Pros:

I had a great experience at R2 Bahía Playa Design Hotel & Spa! The hotel was clean, modern, and perfect for relaxing. The food was excellent — plenty of choice and great quality every day. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the manager Pablo was especially helpful throughout my stay. The spa and gym were spotless and very well maintained. I also loved the evening entertainment — a disco and bar open until midnight made each night fun and lively.
Overall, a wonderful stay!

Pros:

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were warm, welcoming, and efficient, making check-in a breeze. The serving staff were equally impressive, friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile.

A special mention goes to the hotel Manager Pablo, whose leadership truly shines through the entire team. Their amazing and outstanding service made the experience feel personalized and exceptional.

Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be back!

Quiet area but we still had a good time!
Pros:

The hotel is lovely and clean, rooms are very spacious and cleaned daily with towel changes if required. Pool towels are provided and can be changed for €1 however, you can use your own. The gym on site is great with daily Pilates or Yoga for those who want to take part. The food is plentiful with a good fresh salad and bread selection. Cooking stations provide fresh eggs and pancakes at breakfast, with meats and fish provided at lunch and on an evening. The quality of the food is fair for all inclusive, we always found something to eat. Two pools are available, a quieter heated option or if you prefer music and activities the main pool complete with bar was our pool of choice. Sunbeds are limited though. The animation team work hard and want to get you involved, activities such as water polo and aqua gym are great fun! On an evening entertainment is available in the Discotec - it’s ok, following that there is a disco until around midnight. The all inc finishes at 11pm which was fine for us. The drink selection is varied however, the wines and spirits were awful but the beer is ok. We did purchase a couple of bottles of wine which were much better and the Aperol spritz cocktail (€6) were lush! The area is very remote with not much going on in the village, we did visit the zoo though and this was a great day out! Special mention to Tim, Ana, Emanuel all everyone else from the animation team who made our stay super fun! And to the bar staff also work extremely hard and will even dance with you when no one else will lol 🤣 The reception staff are also great and very welcoming and informative. Overall we had a lovely time, it was worth what we paid for a 5 nights stay. Personally it’s too quiet of an area for me to want to visit again but if you don’t mind this, give it a go!

2nd Stay This Year
Pros:

We had planned a visit for our Anniversary, but left it to late so booked our 4th visit for the weekend later.
Excellent Stay the moment we arrived.
Reception checked us in early even though our room wasn't ready, but this meant we could enjoy lunch as soon as we arrived. After our lunch our room was ready, a very nice Suite with the Bestest Seaview.
After that it was just 100% Relaxing, except for one day in the restaurant when the 'Cream of Vegetable' Soup (@ Lunchtime), & the 'Leek & Potato' Soup (@ Dinner) had Fish in them, alright we knew it was a Fish Day, but it should be made more obvious that they contain Fish, luckily we are not allergic to Fish, we just Don't Like It.
Apart from that our only other complaints were having to pay for the safe ( H10 in Corralejo was Free) & Glasses in the Restaurant are to small.
Another problem now is the old carpark is fenced off, so now parking is more difficult.
Still even with these little niggles we still highly recommend this place & hope to return again next year.

Stunning Hotel and amazing gardens.
Pros:

Liked - Beautiful hotel in Costa Calma overlooking the sea. The decor of this hotel is amazing. Staff very professional. Indoor pool and spa area are beautiful, also outdoor infinity pool, Stunning gardens, I have not seen Hotel grounds as good as that before. Food in the restaurant buffet is very high standard and never seemed overcrowded.

Disliked · No complaints with the hotel, but there is nothing much to do in Costa Calma itself, which is at least a 20 min walk from the hotel so its better to hire a car to see the beautiful surrounding areas.
