From the minute I arrived to the time I had to leave I was very impressed with..
Check reception great staff very attentive.
Room very quiet suited my requirements and kept well serviced by the staff.
Meals great choices from breakfast to lunch and finally dinner at night.
Staff again very attentive choice of food was very good if there are people finding things not to their liking them I find that extremely hard to accept.
Pools 2, 1 heated 1 not kept immaculate.
Entertainment I only went to the disco on 3 occasions during my stay and found no problem with the acts varied and bar staff very helpful.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, yes it's a little isolated but quiet kept spotless and relaxing suites me perfectly.
This is in my view a very true review of the hotel.
This was our second visit to the hotel. On our last visit a year ago, we didn't get our booked sea view room for the first night. The same happened to us this year as well. This meant that we couldn't unpack for the first night and then wasted the following morning moving to the room we had actually booked and then unpacking - a disappointing start to what was quite a short holiday for us.
As compensation, the hotel offered us free entry to the spa, but we were only able to use this for only one day, as our plans were to spend time away from the hotel during each day, seeing the island and walking. This wasn't meaningful compensation for us.
Not getting the room we booked once can be excused but twice in successive years, it can't. Such poor management of bookings is not acceptable. We are not sure that we will be returning because of this.
Apart from that, we enjoyed the same things in the hotel that we enjoyed the previous year. For us, the location in a quiet village was great (although we can understand why others who like different things might be disappointed by the lack of nightlife). We also liked the buffet food and the view from our sea view room, when we actually got into it, was lovely. We could hear the sea at night, which was a real plus for us. We would say though that the quality of the drinks in the all inclusive deal was really poor and noticeably worse than on our previous visit a year ago. The wine was out of a tap and, for us, was undrinkable. Fortunately, proper bottles of drinkable wine were available but at extra cost. The beer was good but our advice is not to try ordering one of the included cocktails - they also came out of a machine and are dreadful.
Such a friendly hotel. Stayed here as a surprise for my 60th birthday.
Hotel was in a stunning location looking out to sea.
Rooms were very spacious. Attention to detail with birthday cake and bubbles waiting for our arrival.
Swimming pools were great. Spa experience was amazing especially the hot beds.
We hired the Belanise beds which were wonderful.
Highly recommended this hotel.
The most friendly hotel ever stayed at. The entertainment staff are so lovely. Room was perfect . Balinese beds .. well what can I say so value for money waiter service absolutely spot on . My only minute negative was the overpowering smell of the air freshener in games room .
Good sized room. Great powerful shower. Balcony got plenty of sunshine. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. We took part in a lot of events that the animation team organised and these were all great fun. Francesca and Alessio were very patient letting me practice my Italian. A good choice of food in the restaurant and they made valentines night very special with lots of red balloons and a saxophonist. All in all a lovely stay. We booked two Balinese beds and this was a great experience with very good wine and fruit selection delivered to the beds.
Great food and drink, lovely staff. Fun animation team. Valentines night was special.Great stay with family. Balinese beds were special
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at R2 Bahia Playa Design Hotel in Tarajalejo. The hotel itself is a true gem—elegant, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, creating a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere from the moment you arrive.
The staff deserves a special mention—they are incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything you might need, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. The dining experience was equally impressive, with delicious food and a huge variety of options to suit every taste.
We were especially touched by the hotel’s thoughtful gesture for our anniversary: a bottle of champagne and a cake, which made our celebration even more memorable.
The location is perfect, right by the beach, offering stunning views immediately outside the hotel, especially during sunrises and sunsets—truly magical moments to start or end your day. If you choose to rent a car, the hotel is an excellent starting point for exploring the entire island, making every excursion convenient and enjoyable.
Overall, our stay at R2 Bahia Playa Design was unforgettable, and we can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for elegance, comfort, and exceptional hospitality.
A wonderful surprise, after only booking 2 days before and reading some of the reviews, whilst sitting at the airport.
Firstly the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were shown to our room and it was very pleasant.
We never had any issues with food and always found a great variety. The drinks and cocktails were of a good quality.
There are lovely walks around the hotel and a few shops and restaurants nearby.
I loved that there are smoking areas and no one can smoke outside whilst you eat.
We will definitely return.
Brilliant hotel food and drink was great can’t fault any of it staff all great went above and beyond to help you beautiful gardens and it was so peaceful
I just arrived from my holiday in Fuerteventura. I had a nice and relaxing time in this hotel.
The best thing about this hotel is the Staff. They will do everything to make your stay special and they do it with the smile. They are doing a great job!
There was a nice surprise left in the fridge on my birthday, which made my stay even more special. Thank you!😊
The food was lovely. Lots of variety and very tasty. Lots of fish food options and salads that I like. Freshly pressed juice selection on breakfast was my favourite!
Cleaning service is every day, rooms are clean and in good size.
The only downside is that the room is dated, but this is not what I came for.
My room was with the ocean view and plenty of sunshine.
If you need to take a break from the busy life in the relaxing atmosphere with the beautiful views, glorious sunshine, good food and fantastic service & spa, this place is perfect for you!
I would definitely come back.
Perfect if you are German!! If you are English think twice before you book. The hotel caters for the German nobody else gets a look in. Very unhappy customers
I am finishing my 14 days stay from 12 till 26 January 2026, room 316 in the main building. All-in-all I would gladly recommend this hotel !
Positives:
Location in a small quiet village, just by the beach with black sand. Hotel just for adults.
In my opinion it is very clean, all areas and gardens are very tidy and well maintained.
Entertainment is not overloaded, disco every evening till midnight. Very professional staff, working fast and still being kind and helpful.
I wonder about some remarks on food; for me it is really delicious, lots of variety, I especially enjoyed all types of see-food and Spanish specialties like jamon and cheese. Also very nice fresh fruit drink during breakfast. One of the outdoor swimming pools is heated.
Small remarks:
Nicer welcome of the reception staff would be a kind improvement for hotel's image 😊
In my opinion the fee of 3 euro/day to rent a safe is by far exaggerated as well as the payment for using the thermal pool at the spa area.
Drinks are just on the edge of acceptable, the genuine drinks are to be paid too much.
And a small advise to the cooks: please check
any video how to prepare pork lion (for example in Poland) and not to damage it as you currently do.
We went for a Christmas break, on arrival our experience with reception etc was great, our room was not ready which was understandable as we arrived about 1:00 pm, We found the hotel to be a little tired here and there, room cleaning was a bare minimum, the hotel lacked an atmosphere all
though effort was made regarding decorations and lights, we felt it was soulless, I’m guessing the time of year decided the food choices which wasn’t a great deal, don’t think we will go again.
Defiantly book the romantic suites if you can’t get a sea view room as the area and the rooms make the experience so much more special.
We have just arrived back after spending a week there for Christmas, the hotel was clean but tired, the food choice was limited and boring, there was burnt pizza available every day whether it was lunchtime or dinner time. The room safe was charged at €3 per day and the spa/jacuzzi was €20 per person for 1.5 hours.
There was absolutely NO effort made to create a Christmas atmosphere, the cleaners were very loud from about 07.30 in the morning, we go abroad almost every Christmas and I must say that this was our worst experience. There simply was no effort at all by the hotel management to organise anything!!!
Our stay at this hotel was hugely disappointing. The day we arrived they could not even find our booking. We were told "you're not booked with us" even though my husband had the email confirmation. Finally they realised that someone had misspelled his first name and that was what they saved our booking under.
The noise outside the balcony went on throughout the day, and the smoking area was directly below our room, making it extremely unpleasant to sit outside. We had specifically booked a junior suite with a sea view—the only reason we chose this hotel—only to be told on arrival that none were available. Instead, we ended up with a balcony facing a brick wall, right next to the smoking area. When we complained, we were simply told, “there is nothing we can do.” Plus we requested a double bed and was given 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single bedding and 2 separate single thin sheets to cover ourselves with. We thought this was just us, but turns out this is their standard "double". Loss count of the times we feel in-between both beds.
The room itself was very basic. It was relatively clean, but places like under the bed, chairs, and tables were covered in dust. There was no coffee machine and no water provided beyond a single bottle given at check-in. Reception informed us it was our responsibility to refill it every day if we wanted drinking water - quite unbelievable in a hot country.
Although all drinks were included, hot drinks were served in paper cups, and proper glasses were only available in the dining area. Most of the staff were lovely, especially the cleaning team, but the reception staff were the complete opposite—miserable, dismissive, and shockingly rude. One of them even commented, “she is a cleaner and probably doesn’t understand English,” which was not only disrespectful but completely wrong, as she understood me perfectly and was far more pleasant than the receptionist who said it.
The food was mostly cold, though there were several fish options which seemed popular with the older guests—around 90% of whom were over 70. We also saw a few roaches around the property; most were dead, likely because of the many cats roaming the grounds. No snacks available between meals... many guests were seen making sandwiches during breakfast and packing them away to have by the pool.
Overall, this was a huge letdown. This is more like a 2* highend hotel (with a beautiful sea view - if those rooms are available). We would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.
We are here now staying in room 344 and have mixed feelings. The food is good quality and choice, the restaurant staff are all friendly. The reception are also friendly. There are some very rude staff, in the SPA a receptionist Paola shouts at arriving guests with a unwelcoming tone, telling them its €20 to use the indoor pool, she is very abrupt and doesnt make you feel welcome, so we left and will not return. There are other problems at this hotel, the main one being the pool area is very small with sunbeds so close together, only a small number get sun due to shade from the buildings. Its made worse by the hotel allowing German guests to reserve sunbeds with towels the night before/early hours of the morning, but don't use the beds until lunchtime. The hotel reception know this is a problem, but don't want to upset the German clients, telling us they worry if they move towels they cause problems. So, each day, despite being up at 8am we have sat on the rocky beach because there is nowhere in the hotel to sit. Previous reviews the hotel management comment they are making improvements with sunbeds - but clearly nothing is being done. The pool attendants do nothing to help this situation. The rooms are clean and good standard, our maid Jessica does a brilliant job keeping the room clean and the views of the sea are beautiful. However, be aware this is a very very quiet resort, there is nothing here other than the hotel and a short promenade walk with no cafe bars, we do like this, however with nowhere to sit by the pool in the sunshine, it's spoilt the experience. The rooms are nice, some staff are friendly but the negative points with rude Paula at the Spa and the hotel not managing the sunbed situation means we wont return - because there is nowhere to relax. Book somewhere else and have yourself a brilliant trip.
I can truly say I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It’s definitely an adults-only resort, which I love. The beach is right in front of the hotel, and there are plenty of pools to choose from. The food options were top tier — no complaints at all.
Our room was very comfortable, with great AC and a large bed. You can even bring your Firestick to plug in, as the WiFi works perfectly in the room. They also provided space outside to hang our towels after using the pool or beach, which was really convenient.
There are cats around the hotel, but they were never an issue — they mind their own business if you mind yours. The receptionist who checked us in was warm and welcoming, which made a great first impression.
My husband and I both said we would definitely return and stay even longer next time. We’d love to bring more adults with us so they can experience the warm atmosphere and hospitality we received.
A big thank you to all the staff for such a pleasant stay. It’s been a long time since I’ve visited a hotel and felt it was truly worth every moment.
Home from a lovely relaxing weeks stay.
Yes it is remote in a quiet little village but hotel has everything needed for a relaxed break. Great staff-attentive and hard working. Lots of variety of food avaliable to suit all tastes. Varied entertainment. Well equipped gym overlooking beach.
We were in the Romantica section, unfortunately the pool was out of order but work in progress. Bonus of this area was having access to jacuzzi & sauna with snack bar and more chilled so no issue getting a sunbed.
Easy to get a bus to Morro Jable only 3.5 euros each way would recommend a visit.
Would recommend this hotel, don't be put off by negative reviews as I was, judge for yourself.
My friend and I were so terribly disappointed with the Bahia Player Spa hotel on Fuerteventura that we asked to be moved almost immediately. The hotel posted pics of a lovely beach area but it was nowhere to be found. There was a beach with black sand and boulders, no loungers and nowhere to get a drink. Their pool area was taken over by the German clients who got up at stupid o clock to mark their sun loungers with their towels, claiming ownership for the rest of the day. The food was below average, no real care, no flavour, no real interest in their customers needs. No milk( in rooms or dinning room) no brown sugar. Many evenings we left the dinning room totally underwhelmed. The drinks( supposedly free with all inclusive) were often undrinkable, often from a tap( so called cocktails). When you complain, the whole attitude is, what do you expect for “all inclusive “. If you want named brands, you must pay. No one expected named brands but others that are considerably cheaper are available. The customers were seen as purely walking money. Such a bitter disappointment. Hotel refuses to compensate us. Told lies. Boycott this disgrace masquerading as a 4😂 star hotel.
