Disappointing stay – far below four-star “superior” standards
We booked a “superior” suite but unfortunately the room felt basic and cheaply furnished. There were several cleanliness issues including a mouldy fridge, thick dust and a bathroom that appeared only superficially cleaned (smeared shower screen and heavy limescale on the shower head).
Small details were also lacking — no bin in the main room (only a tiny one in the bathroom), cheap mugs and a door that felt quite flimsy. We also had problems with the toilet three times and a broken bathroom heater. Maintenance did fix these after multiple trips to reception. We were offered a room swap but it was essentially the same room one floor down.
The lift situation was frustrating. The hotel separates lifts by odd/even floors but one lift serving the even floors was broken, which caused long waits in a 25-floor building.
The restaurant felt dark and canteen-like, with disappointing food and limited choice. We also witnessed poor hygiene practices near the food area which put us off eating the hot food entirely. Daytime snacks were also very poor.
On the positive side, the WiFi was excellent even on the 24th floor. The sauna and changing areas were also very clean and modern. Gym equipped with dumbbells, exercise bikes and treadmills.
Staff did try their best — 🌟 Eva on reception and ✨ Nicky in Guest Relations were particularly helpful. Nicky went above and beyond to assist us — offering another room, checking availability at their sister hotel and suggesting we speak with a TUI representative since that is who we booked through. We are very grateful for her efforts. Thank you Nicky ✨
Overall, this stay fell well below what we expect from a four-star hotel.
We usually stay at another 4* all inclusive hotel nearby and thought we’d try a different one for a change. We paid extra for the Select All Inclusive option. To be honest, the only extras you got were a bottle of Cava, two chocolates and access to the Select Lounge with international beers and spirits but you had to access it from the rowdy bar area which wasn’t ideal if you paid extra to get away from kids running around screaming etc. The restaurant was a free for all, no separate dining area for adults only Select customers which wasn’t ideal and disappointing when other hotels offer this. Food was the same everyday and not much to choose from unless you love salad. The lifts were terrible. Two lifts each for odds and evens rooms and one of the even lifts was out of order. Found it quicker to go in the odds lift and walk down one level of stairs. Select customers get a voucher to access the spa at their sister hotel, The Sandos Monaco, what they don’t tell you is that it’s half a mile away so we didn’t use our vouchers. Glad we only stayed 4 nights and so glad our future trips to Benidorm are already booked for the Flamingo Oasis Club rooms. If you’re wanting a quiet, adults only hotel, DON’T STAY HERE!!!
This was our second visit and we were disappointed. Our allocated room walls (1502) were paper thin and you can hear literally everything happening next door (and I mean everything)! The food was good - something for everyone- but sometimes needed heating up (hence the microwave). Unfortunately every evening there was a loud group of adults in the bar area, generally annoying people also using bad language - so people including us moved away. A manager did once go and tell them to quieten down but they were intimidating. We also, when checking in, were not told about facilities but fortunately we knew about them. Receptionists generally were good and helpful but when we waited patiently whilst they were chatting to obviously regular visitors - should at least make eye contact. Our room was not always cleaned immaculately so unfortunately, regretfully, we will not be back.
Stayed here from 23 feb to 28 feb, for our first break away for 15 years.
Our first impression is that is was beautiful, loved the decor and greated by very friendly and helpful staff on the desk. Allowed us to check in early as our room was ready.
Entered the room and could not believe how spacious it was, with sliding doors to the bedroom. Two sliding patio doors to the balcony, one from living room and the other from bedroom.
The balcony was also large and beautiful views from the 17th floor.
Shower was lovely and powerful.
Bar staff very friendly, to be honest all staff were friendly.
Breakfast was amazing, with such a huge variety and tasted great! Dinners were quite basic, could of had a bigger variety but overall okay. Had dinner at the indian restaurant, was busy with bit of a wait to table and long waits inbetween dishes. Food options not great, yet given quite a few courses. Taste ok, but very bland for a indian.
Lots of entertainment throughout the day and night.
Location really good, close to lots of shops, bars, restaurants and beach straight down road with 10 min walk.
Housekeeping could of been better , as during out stay our toilet wasnt cleaned nor our mugs.
Overall though would definately stay there again, was the best holiday we have had for years!
Thank you to you all at Sandos Benidorm Suites!!
They say your second stay is never as good as your first, but in the case of the Sandos Benidorm Suites our second visit was even better, From the moment we arrived we were reminded why we chose to return. The welcome at reception was warm, and check-in was quick and smooth. The staff genuinely make you feel valued as a guest, which immediately set the tone of our stay.
The hotel itself is immaculate throughout. Public areas, corridors and the grounds are spotless, and it is clear that a lot of pride is taken in maintaining the hote. Housekeeping deserves a special mention as the rooms are left spotless every day.
Our suite wa extremely comfortable, with plenty of room to relax. The bed was very comfortable, and we always had a great night’s sleep.
All that said the standout aspects of the hotel is the food. The restaurant offers a fantastic selection at every meal with something to suit all tastes. The quality is consistently very good and far exceeds what many people might expect from an all-inclusive hotel. The bar service and drinks selection are also excellent. What also makes this hotel stand out, however, is the staff. Every member of the team we encountered was welcoming, hardworking and clearly committed to ensuring guests have a great stay. It is obvious that the hotel is very well managed, and that attention to detail shows in every aspect of the experience.
Overall, the Sandos Benidorm Suites delivers everything you could want from a holiday, comfort, great food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. Our second stay confirmed exactly why we returned, and it certainly won’t be our last. We just booked to go back in September.
Nice place
We stayed here as a couple from the 22nd of February till the 1st of March. We were on the 14th floor room 1405. We both loved the hotel and all it's staff were very attentive. Room was cleaned everyday. Food was of a good standard and we always found something to eat. The the hotel has its own Indian restaurant and the food and staff were amazing. Would we come back again yes we would. Definitely a great hotel and brilliant weather. Dougie Whitefield ( Scotland)
