If ever I come back to Cologne, I would still consider staying here.
Pros:

Perfect location, quiet, safe place, affordable, no problem about the shared bathroom, free bottled water, free slippers, polite staff.

Cons:

It could be cleaner though but still contented with the room.

Pros:

Gute Lage (5 Minuten zu Fuss vom Bahnhof) in einer ruhigen Strasse.
Sauberes Zimmer und Bad.
Nettes Personal.

Dirty, dated and dusty.
Pros:

Location to the station and in a quiet side street. Staff helped me carry my case to the 3rd floor.

Cons:

Extremely old, dated, in desperate need of renovation. Shared bathroom was mouldy, dusty and dirty. Doors loud. Plug socket in room looked so broken I didn’t dare use it. Bedroom also very dusty. Suspicious stains on walls and carpets.

Die fußläufig kurze Entfernung zum Hauptbahnhof (ca 5 Min.) kam mir als Bahnreisende sehr entgegen.

Cons:

Licht und Schatten liegen beieinander: Mein Zimmer lag im Souterrain, d.h.ich blickte aus dem Fenster auf eine Mauer.
Aber ich kam zum Sightseeing und nicht zum Dauerwohnen.
Unerwarteter VORTEIL: Ungemein ruhig - auch nachts! Und das in Bahnhofsnähe.
