Sophien Hotel

The hotel was having some work done so the corridor was a little untidy but the room was like an oasis in the desert. The staff was very helpful and the room was very clean, comfortable and had some interesting features such as a little circular light in the bathroom mirror which provided excellent illumination at night. Very easy to get to from the U station and a conveniently located Rewe store.

"Parking limité" : comprenez l'équivalent d'une boîte à chaussure qui sert de parking. 4 pauvre place dans un petit cube de pierre.
Le couloir de l'hôtel ressemble étrangement à un corridor d'hôpital. L'insonorisation est médiocre et la propreté de la chambre n'était pas au rendez-vous, si ce n'est pour la literie et la salle de bain.
La chambre se présente bien de visuel, mais de la poussière se trouvait sur les murs.
L'accueil était ok.
Ce n'est pas un lit double, mais un double lit : deux lits recollés ensemble. Pour les couples qui souhaitent finalement dormir séparément, c'est parfait.
L'hôtel se veut initialement 3 étoiles, je ne sais pas sur quels standards se sont basés les évaluateurs.

The hotel is basic, but in a good location. Good for business. I had trouble with the check-in.

It is situated in a desirable neighborhood and is conveniently close to supermarkets and train stations. There are good restaurants nearby. I didn't like the cleaner who harassed me for not wanting my room cleaned and yelled at me. I don't like the repeated cleaning of hotel rooms - can she keep leaving a bunch of towels and toilet paper when there were plenty in the room?

Für uns (Messebesuch) perfekt. Zimmer und Bad sehr sauber, ruhig gelegen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants in ca. 5 Min. Entfernung, 20 Min. zu Fuss zur Messe. Taxis durch die Rezeption bestellt sind innert 4-5 Min. da. Personal höflich und hilfsbereit.

Room is spacious and clean but staff is not professional

One of the affordable hotels in Bockenheim. Great if you have business in either Bockenheim or Westend of Frankfurt. Walkable to every kind of shopping and dining you could imagine. Great access to public transit. Walking distance (though, a long walk) to the Goethe University of Frankfurt. My hotel room was small and basic but newly renovated and clean. Two challenges with the room were 1)that the WiFi connection was almost non-existent. The staff was very helpful. They said it was because I was in one of the rooms far away from the router and offered that I could change the room. 2) while there was a water cooker in the room for tea and instant coffee, there was no tea or instant coffee. The room was also super cold when I arrived. I turned on the heat and it was fine when I came back a few hours later. The downstairs bar is quaint. You can get drinks there. Just order them at the front desk. This is a good hotel if you are passing through and need a place to rest. On the day I was there, breakfast was not offered and I got the impression that it was not offered regularly any longer.

My room was exactly as show on the internet. Hallways are a bit dark and cold but room was new and clean. Location is good for the Messe Frankfurt

Nur Kaffee vom Kaffeeautomat und teuer dazu. Lift laut. Lampen kaltes Licht, ungemütlich. Sauberkeit gut, Lage auch. Personal ging auf Wunsch ein, ein Zimmer zur Hinterseite heraus zu vergeben.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang, gemütliches renoviertes Zimmer.

The property looks a bit older and is deceiving since the room was very good. It looks like they were working on improving areas. It is on a main street so expect traffic noise. Told parking is included but they only have 3 spots that get taken very quickly. Otherwise it is street parking or a parking garage a few blocks away.

Very small rooms. Bad WiFi. They charge EUR 40 as "deposit" to give you the room key and TV remote. The heater in the suddenly gets cold and then very hot. Hallway outside the room reminds me of a hospital rather than a hotel. Very shady entry through the side entrance door. The actual front room serves as a storage dump
