Nothing I didn't like
I originally posted this review where I post restaurant/ food & small business reviews but decided it was importance to post here because I definitely check here for hotel reviews when needed. Having to travel extensively for work, I could count on any Marriott brand of hotel to provide a consistent level of quality until my recent visit to this location. Unfortunately, this hotel was noticeably subpar. We were assigned room #625 initially. In the bathroom, there is a board covering in front of the sink. It looks like a drawer and when we pulled on it, this cover fell and nearly hit my foot. There was no hair dryer that we confirmed after searching the entire room. I called the front desk twice and then housekeeping consecutively letting it ring about 10x each call but there was no answer. I went down to the front desk and to the staff person on duty’s credit, he did as he said and went to check some rooms to find and deliver us a hair dryer. But that was the minor problem. The major problem was an odor that my wife complained about. I smelled it as well and confirmed it was not coming from the air conditioning unit. Instead, we found it came from a mattress in one of the beds. Initially, I suggested that my wife sleep farthest away. I tried to sleep facing it then away from it and then realized I would not be able to sleep with this odor. It was so putrid, sharp and acrid. It smelled like feces! The bedding smelled fine but even that could not overcome this smell. I knew if I tried to endure it, I would eventually get a headache from the smell. After an 11pm arrival after a 6 hour drive and facing a 10 hour drive the next day, we needed to make the effort to pack up and move to another room. Thankfully the front desk staffer came through again! He found us another room, #741 which did not have an odor issue and it was easy to sleep through the night. Not deal breakers but for completeness, I will note that room #741 also did not have a hair dryer but wasn’t an issue since we used the one the gentleman already provided us while still in #625. The next morning I took a shower and when pulling the “arm” to switch the water from bath to shower, it looked like only half the water went to the shower head; water was still gushing out of the main bath “spicket.” This property seems to be the recipient of a renovation but it gave me the impression of a polished turd…the smell reinforced that impression.
The modern clean atmosphere
Na
The room was large and clean
Nothing. The stay was pleasant
This was the second hotel I stayed at on hotel circle (the other being the doubletree Hilton) and it’s by far a superior hotel and much quieter. Happy hour is served in the lobby if interested but outside of happy hours expect more expensive glasses of wine.
The room was fine and clean.
