Old Motors Club Raduno
Pros:

We organised a raduno for the Old Motors Club with 30 vintage cars. We stayed at Regent Beach Hotel. We even had dinner at the hotel. The rooms were very clean, service excellent and staff friendly and helpful. We recommend this hotel. Nino was great to meet all our demands. Thank you

Relaxing stay and good base
Pros:

We stayed here for 4 nights/3 days as a mother-daughter trip.

Hotel had good amenities, lovely pool area with lots of sun loungers and waking through the apartments you are the beautiful private beach (cost €6 a day to hire a lounger).

Staff were great, so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Everyone said hello and particularly shout out the the two ladies on reception who went out their way to book us train tickets, arrange taxis to/from airport (including a refund after being overcharged - should be €35 each way).

We had a standard twin room. Enough space for us and appreciates the fridge, tv and balcony. Air con was noisy so didn’t tend to use it, but was good for what we needed. Nice view of the town and could see the sea and the mountains. The room comes with some many complimentary toiletries, inc razor and cream, shampoo, shower gels and toothbrush/toothpaste, which was more than standard so was very impressed.

Breakfast was a buffet. No hot food. Just breads, cereals, cakes, pastries etc. lady serving was very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us.

Great location to explore the Reggio Calabria area without a car (train station is a 10 min walk) so we took a day trip to Scilla (a must do!) and Messina. Please note, the trains that stop at Catona station were typically every 2 hours.

Hotel and general area were very quiet, could be as we came to end of season so there is only really 1-2 places to eat. We ate in the restaurant one night, good food but the servers were preoccupied with a private function so they never asked if we wanted drinks or dessert. We also had to pre book which was a big difficulty. The cafe at the lido was good value and tasty panins. I’d recommend the Garage Al Mare, the atmosphere and prices were great. Only a few mins walk from hotel but as there isn’t many options near the hotel, it’s a hidden gem.

Very clean hotel, with a good pool, charming staff and easy to get to airport
Pros:

We chose this hotel because we had a very early flight and a previous review had said that it was a quick trip to get to the airport (it was!).
But the receptionist was charming and let us check in early, the rooms were clean and very well equipped with toiletries, towels and pillows. There was a nice pool with loungers which was very welcome on a hot day as a break from seeing the lovely sights of Reggio Calabria. There was free parking outside. The 24 hour reception also made it very easy to check out.
I would definitely recommend it.

Pros:

The hotel was clean but the shower was so tiny, you couldn’t even close the door in order to fit in it. Nowhere in the description did it say there was no maid service. The mattress on the bed was so flat and probably the most uncomfortable thing I ever slept on. The TV has no service. They charge you for a beach chair. You have to carry your luggage to and from the room. This is far from a 4 star hotel and not worth the money.

Tad disappointing
Pros:

When we looked on trip advisor we were expecting a very good, proper four-star hotel and we were unfortunately disappointed.
The service was not good. An example would be when we had to move room due to a pungent smell coming from our bathroom. Usually this isn't such a big deal and we can just move to the nearest room with no stress. But this time we weren't offered any help what so ever.
Even though the room in general was clean we weren't offered enough shampoo and shower gel nor was there wifi in the room or a working safe.
The reason why I didn't rate it a two was the restaurant beside it. The food there is very good and I was not once disappointed. The waiter was super friendly and the atmosphere was great.

Not a four star hotel
Pros:

Regent Hotel is not a bad hotel: clean and nicely decorated with a private beach and a decent restaurant.
However it is not a four star hotel by far. Nice things like phone in your room, free wifi, safe etc. don’t work. The stuff is smiling, and some of them are even helpful. The ‘private’ beach charges you extra for entry and doesn’t even provide beach towels. Parking on the street is awkward. They also seem to have plumbing problems.
In short, it doesn’t worth the money.
Restaurant though provided a very good service and good quality meals.

False Façade!
Pros:

The hotel building is beautiful, but that is all. The grounds are dirty, unkempt and nothing like the pictures. The gorgeous pool in the pictures was full of bugs, leaves, tiles were missing, and the poolside bar was empty and torn apart. The dinner, one pork chop and a wilted salad, was disgusting. The walk to the beach was nauseating with all the garbage piled up on the beach. Be warned that this is a town that shuts down from 2pm (14,00) until 7:30pm/8:00pm (19,30/20,00) and there is nowhere to eat. My husband and I were supposed to stay for 3 days. We stayed for one night, forfeited our original train tickets, spent another 100€ on train tickets and went back to Rome. The staff was accommodating, but utterly unhelpful. Was not a picturesque place to spend our 25th wedding anniversary!

Pros:

We found this hotel very dated.. The hotel needs a good clean and renovation.. Carpet in our room was very dirty.. We had dinner at the Hotel restaurant on the beach and felt the service was very bad, food wasn't much better.. Breakfast was disgusting table clothes dirty, rotten fruit and nobody really cares about the customers at this hotel... Don't go there!!

Gewollt und nicht gekonnt!
Pros:

Not a 4 star for sure
Pros:

The reality has nothing to do with the information on the webside. We had garden apartment. The standard was terrible. Dark, dirty, furnished 30 years ago. Nothing to eat for breakfast except cakes. Aircondition only in the one room from 2. Staff very nice and friendly but still we were very disapointed by the standard.

Older Hotel with super staff
Pros:

We arrived after a long drive from Naples. Check in prompt and efficient. We asked about dining room times - 2000 hrs. She we arrived at dining room it was obvious we were not expected and they had a large convention group.
When we explained the managers set up a table must for us in another room and we had them dinner of the day served by a wonderful Eliana!
The e room was fine BUT the staff was so very fine dealing with a difficult situation😁

we had a pleasant stay
Pros:

Its a lovely property and they certainly tried hard. The rooms were big enough but not gigantic - and being a restricted mobility traveller was happy that i had a walk in shower. Although the placement of the shower head seemed odd.
The beds were 2 single which don't work particularly well for me and not what was requested however we only stayed 3 nites so managed ok
Breakfast was included and was certainly not the best we had on our travels but 'filled the spot' so to speak. Evening meals were good and the wait staff were fabulous. There was a mix up on check out with money and the english speaking staff werent on at that time so we had to wait until they arrived to sort it - however it was all sorted and we left happy. . . like others have experienced wifi was bad - and if thats an issue perhaps another hotel would suit better.

Great thanks to its vicinity to beach
Pros:

This hotel is nice for those who seek being close to the sea and sun. We have stayed in a room apartment out of the main hotel building which was just few steps from private beach. Plus is definitely the hotel location and a private beach. There is a lot of space for improvement in terms of breakfast and wi-fi coverage. The breakfast was quite repetitive, nearly every day the same choice, we were missing having bit more fruits, but O. K. if you don't mind eat every day the same. Wi-fi coverage is not good, the strongest signal is very near the reception desk, but forget about wi-fi if you are few meters from the reception, there was no wi-fi even in the breakfast room. If you want to switch off for a few days and just enjoy being literally on the beach, perfect choice. If you need to work a bit, you may have some troubles. People in the hotel are nice and always smiling.

Good value, friendly staff
Pros:

Staff were friendly and helpful. One of the receptionists went out of his way to assist us with finding bus times. Room was modern and clean. The hotel Pizzeria was situated on the beach which provided a lovely option for dinner. Would stay here again.
