Staff were very helpful and lovely.
The food was exceptional - we had dinner and breakfast there and both were brilliant. We had skrie cod and porcetta as mains with rhubarb and custard brulee and coconut pannacotta for dessert. Excellent value.
Room was huge and very clean and comfortable.
The grounds were extensive and great for a walk - we even saw a deer.
Nothing. It was all good.
The hotel as a whole.
Very limited menu in my opinion, lots of fish. Room a little chilly despite radiators on.
location was good.
cold eggs and bacon on buffet breakfast bar.
Breakfast was great and the overall experience was exceptional. Excellent venue for my sons wedding
Great property. Good location.
We enjoyed a really lovely anniversary meal with a large group. The food was really good (dirty burger is incredible) and staff were attentive throughout. It generally is quiet here midweek but still enjoyable.
Only thing that let down the night slightly was the strange barman. He wasn’t around for about 10 minutes so didn’t know where to go to order a drink. I went up the bar to order as he stood there inputting another table’s order into the till and proceeded to actively ignore me for 5 minutes. When he did eventually look at me, he didn’t say anything just stared at me like I was inconveniencing him. It was very strange. When he served our table he just slammed drinks down and didn’t say anything. It made everyone quite uncomfortable - not what you want when you’re celebrating a special night. Maybe he was having a bad day but still not what you expect and certainly not professional behaviour. Other staff were brilliant!
My family had a great relaxing stay.
Some confusion over room bookings.
An absolute jewel of a hotel.
Friendly, helpful staff. Amazingly clean and well decorated public rooms. Stunning grounds, we particularly recommend a stroll around the kitchen garden, beautifully cared for and immaculate, even at this time of year.
Our room was absolutely beautiful and incredibly spacious, double aspect. Huge bed and lovely large dressing area. Bath and a walk in shower, but this was difficult to control the temperature on, might need descaling!, Our only complaint was below us was a door which appeared to be used by staff at all hours and it slammed, so much so the bed shook. Not ideal at 0024 and 0500 during our last night it had happened periodically the night before, but that last night did produce a bleary checkout.
I did mention this issue at check out and the receptionist was incredibly apologetic. It’s a simple fix really, just add a soft close arm,
All in all though an amazing stay abd we will definitely return.
Lovely house and location, big comfortable bed, heated bathroom floor and nice shower/bathroom area.
Expensive food, drink, very few vegetarian/vegan options for food. Loud wedding music through the night, even though we were on the 2nd floor. Very expensive considering what we got in return, we could have flown to Europe for a few days.
The hotel is beautiful and set in a peaceful environment. The staff were lovely and had set a cot up for our baby and made sure we had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant and they were very accommodating to having a baby with us. The breakfast was great.
We have been coming here for nearly 20 years as we stayed here not long after I met my wife and we also got married here in 2020 which was a lovely day. We have always had lovely stays and the staff and rooms have been great but we stayed a few days ago and it seem to have gone more corporate, which I believe is due to new owners, buffet breakfast now instead of freshly cooked breakfast brought to you, no fresh milk in the fridge, menu not clear. All in all a disappointing stay for my 40th birthday and our wedding anniversary and we won’t be coming back whilst it’s in its current form, which is such a shame as it’s always been a lovely place. I also sent them an email expressing my disappointment and they just ignored it and didn’t even give me the courtesy of acknowledging the email.
Such a shame Oakley Hall! You have lost some loyal customers.
Superb because of the quality produce usef
Would have liked a bathrobe and slippers, seemed very tight on things like milk in the room and biscuits given the price paid
I wanted to write a review and say thank you so much for hosting my family hen do afternoon tea.
Our experience, service, food, area and staff were all brilliant and we had such a lovely afternoon.
Plenty of good quality food and catered to all our needs and dietary requirements.
I was a little sceptical upon booking, as none of us had ever been to Oakley Hall Hotel, but we were so impressed. The location was stunning and the restaurant was modern and chic. We will definitely be back again in the future.
Thank you!
