The room was huge and relaxing. It was well maintained too. The location is very accessible.
The price could have been lower.
Breakfast
Bed was not comfortable
This was in my reservation:
Please do not spray or add any fragrance to the room . I am extremely sensitive and under medical supervision. Thank you
When I arrived, I asked the desk agent about spraying and fragrance and she said no one read the note. She suggested I go to the room and see if it was OK. The hall had carpeting that was outgassing but I hoped that would not effect the room. The room did not have fragrance so we checked in.
When I went to bed that night I found the sheets and pillowcase had scent so I called the front desk and asked for a change in sheets. They were a bit better but I did have a tough time of it. Changing hotels and driving on a frigid New Year's Eve is mind blowing. The next morning I asked for a follow up. The agent knew of the incident as it must have been logged in. No one called. I reached out days later and spoke to Kevin who denied there was any fragrance used. I told him he needed to sniff the sheets they have. His lack of any knowledge and concern for the incident were drowned by his effort to cover himself. At no point did he ask if I was OK or apologize. Denying someone's disability is not what I would expect from a Hilton brand. The previous night we stayed at Homewood Suites Brandywine and the whole experience was spot on from check in to check out. Everyone was well trained and aimed at making the guest experience wonderful.
I am not sure why a property like Lancaster Homewood Suites did not actually respect and acknowledge a guest's request, especially if there are health and disability issues are involved.
Staff were very helpful and polite!
Clean and easy to get around
No lounge/bar area. Breakfast was good but needed to have just plain scrambled eggs. I can’t eat meat and there was ham in the eggs so I couldn’t eat them.
coffee was always hot and breakfast had good choices. staff was helpful when needed. would def go back
Loved our stay! Plan to come back again next summer!
Comfortable rooms, very nice for multiple people traveling together! Loved the pool, very relaxing at the end of a day of sightseeing. And great breakfast. Would stay again!!
The hotel is clean, but too noisy. We could hear everyone that walked by our room. It sounded like people were entering our room. It was hard to get any rest due to the thin walls and the uncomfortable beds. The hotel is currently under a much needed renovation and hopefully these issues can be addressed.
The breakfast probably was the best hotel breakfast I've had
We have stayed at the Homewood Suites before and it always has been a wonderful experience. This time as well. There are however a few things I would like to point out. When I checked in I wasn't told that there wasnt daily housekeeping. So one day when we came back after a morning of running around, we didnt have any clean towels to take a shower. I did go to the lobby and ask and they were provided. So if there isnt daily housekeeping that should be told upfront when checking in. The pillows really need updating. Too soft for me and I had to sleep on 4 just to get comfortable. One other suggestion, would be there should be more than 2 trash cans in the room. It would make it a bit better. Otherwise, everything else was good as usual. Always friendly staff and clean room! We will definitely be back!
Our stay was fine. The day of our check-in the two ladies in the lobby were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The next day when I went down for breakfast there was no one at the front desk. We got breakfast and I realized the front desk person was in the kitchen. When I was able to speak with her she was not as pleasant and friendly as the staff the day before. We decided to check out a day early (not because of this woman or the hotel). When I checked out she was again very short with me. I asked for a receipt, she said it would be emailed or she would have to print it. This was said in a rude way. I decided to wait on the email and I am still waiting.
As a Hilton Diamond member who stays at many Hilton properties, I would advise you to stay clear of this one. The manager, Nathan Wilcox, could not have cared less about our complaint the construction crew made loud drilling noises early in the morning right above our room. He told us "we understand that renovations can be inconvenient" but he would do nothing for us. He said the construction was posted with signage at all entrances. How does that matter that there is signage when you arrive and can no longer cancel the reservation and go to another hotel. This kind of management leaves a horrible impression of what Hilton is all about. Shame on Nathan and the hotel owner!
Great stay and super clean
