The staff is very friendly and helpful. The space is well maintained. We have stayed here for years when visiting my brother who lives nearby and the hotel remains spotless.

Excellent choices and enjoyed

It was excellent

This was my second stay in August 2025, at the Residence Inn, Hoover during my home kitchen total renovation this Summer. Earlier, in March, I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of my renovation.
On my March arrival, I asked for assistance from a short, gentleman who told me promptly on requesting assistance with helping with the elevator and my dog and bags. "THIS IS NOT A FULL-SERVICE HOTEL. This indicated to me that he did not wish to assist me and was poor customer service.
The staff could have be more friendly; I felt somewhat isolated at night unless Chantel was working. The night check-in lady was very Icey.
During this second stay, due to the front desk being so slow to help me and acting resentful, unless Maria, or Chantel was there. I learned to stay away from the front desk and ask at a minimal for towels, water, supplies. Walmart across the street makes it easy to avoid Hotel prices on sodas and ice cream. They did one thing right at five each afternoon they would make cookies, and usually I would grab me and Cosmo my dog one each afternoon.
There was one sweet, kind smiling lady on evening shift, Chantel Thompson (Cookie-Monster). She saved my stay with her conversation and laughter, and during the day a very pleasant Janet Hartmann, was there to help and her dog. I also enjoyed talking to Housekeepers, Dominga was my favorite, I highly recommend her services.
The attitude of the staff was well your here, except for Chantel, and Janet and the warm housekeeper Domingo who saved my trip.

Our television didn't work and the hotel staff couldn't help and didn't care. I would not recommend this hotel. Overall, in need of renovation.

As a frequent traveler along the East Coast, I've had the opportunity to stay in numerous hotels. However, Residence Inn Birmingham Hoover stands out as one of the best I've experienced.
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness and exceptional hospitality provided by the staff, particularly Michele, Chantel, and Chequetta. The hotel truly feels like a home away from home, and I always look forward to staying here when I visit Birmingham, AL.
The complimentary breakfast is amazing, and I greatly appreciate the added convenience of having free popcorn and cookies available throughout my stay. The hotel's location, directly across from a Walmart, Buffalo Wild Wings, and a gym, is incredibly practical and situated in a safe, family-friendly area.
I've never had any issues with car break-ins or concerns about the neighborhood, which is a testament to the hotel's excellent security and prime location. Overall, Residence Inn Birmingham Hoover has become my go-to choice for accommodations in the Birmingham area, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, clean, and welcoming hotel experience.

The unique thing about our room, which I love, are the doors that separated the sleeping area from the living room, bathroom, and kitchen areas.
