Henlopen Oceanfront Hotel

We booked our stay during Sea Witch.
I was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews. I can’t express how happy we were with the accommodations.
When I first inquired at the hotel, the desk attendant was overly friendly and helpful.
At the time of checking in Dee was very friendly and accommodating. Our family wasn’t arriving until the early morning hours and she made it extremely easy for them to arrive and hit the room. No matter how many questions I had she was very patient and always kept a smile.
The rooms were very clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable. They have the basics; refrigerator, coffee maker (k-cups) and extra sink in the ocean front rooms.
The only con I would make is the location as far as the festivities going on.. I figured it would be nice to be away from the crowd. If you don’t mind a couple steps, it’s fine. We didn’t find it a problem at all. Even the parking worked out on such a busy weekend.
I would recommend this hotel.

Both night had weddings, it was pretty noisy when trying to sleep.
Room was dusty and moldy in the shower.

This is a new frills,, close to the beach, hotel with great access to restaurants and other attractions on the Rehoboth Boardwalk.Great side view of the ocean from the balcony and easy access to get on the beach. Staff were super friendly and allowed us to check in early since the room was available. Would definitely stay here since it’s an incredibly good value for the money.

Ocean view great!!! Lovely room with lots of drawer space. Nice size table to eat and play games, good bathroom, sitting area with couch, and coffee table. Front Desk staff was very helpful. Comments/Suggestions: Toilet seat was a little too low. Light switch by the door did not work with any lamp. It would be nice to have a room safe. We had a lovely time and would recommend the hotel to others, and we would like to stay here again.

The location is great but the hotel is dated and the rooms are very basic nothing special.
The only thing is going for this hotel is the location.

The partial ocean view was nice. You can see the ocean from your room. Highly recommend this hotel for your beach stay!

We had a partial ocean view. Bathroom did not have exhaust fan. Only one wooden chair. No upholstered furniture!

Very nice hotel right on the beach and boardwalk. Wow. Beautiful place.

Our room was filthy and noisy. Desk staff shrugged when told how dirty the room was. Also, parking a pickup truck in the garage was only possible because half the spaces were empty.

Location is great, although stairs-only from the boardwalk; a wheelchair-accessible path requires a trip around the back of the building. Very nice ocean-facing patio with rocking chairs. Room itself could use a little maintenance love, with a scratched-up floor and a heating/AC unit that was both noisy and had a hard time keeping the whole room cool on a mildly warm day. Room furnishings were a bit spartan, with one tiny desk and chair - no second chair, and certainly nothing comfortable to relax in. Door lock card reader was finicky and sometimes just failed to work despite a visit from maintenance. Coffee maker in room was nice but not resupplied during four day visit; housekeeping in general was minimal with one bar of soap for both shower and sink, also not resupplied. Wanted to tip housekeeping anyway at checkout, but front desk lacks the ability to add a tip to the bill.

Convenient location right across the street from a nice dog friendly park. Staff was nice, room was clean. Partial ocean view was perfect.

Air conditioning units outside are loud.

AC very noisy! Bed could use new mattress! Had a room with courtyard view, which was nothing but a large concrete area! No flowers, no color, no tables and chairs! Absolutely nothing to enjoy out there!

The property was very nice, clean but one of the beds was why to soft and the parking was tight especially for a pick up truck.

Great view great room friendly staff

Very disappointing experience. Went with other couples for a wedding that was actually held in this hotel. We all booked rooms to stay. So many of the room reservations were totally messed up and manager. Izzy did nothing to accommodate people most of whom had pre-purchased rooms Upon arrival at our room. There was sand on the floor that as we walked across it for the first time got stuck in our feet and there was a huge clump of hair in the shower drain so when you took a shower, it would not drain properly would not recommend.
