Never have wanted to leave Jamaica until staying at this “resort”. Terrible in every way from check in to check out. Do NOT stay here. It was the biggest waste of 4 days we have ever spent. Please spend your money anywhere else.
I stayed at Negril Palms after booking through Expedia, where it’s rated around 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, my experience did not match that rating at all.
Upon arrival, check-in was delayed by nearly three hours, which was extremely frustrating after traveling. There was little communication or urgency from staff during this time.
The room itself was very bare and dated. There was no dresser or proper storage for clothing, just a bed and a few old tables. The refrigerator was very loud, and the room overall felt worn and poorly maintained. Towels provided were dirty, which is unacceptable. The space was not well decorated and did not feel clean or comfortable.
Dining was also disappointing. On one occasion, food took over an hour and forty-five minutes to arrive after ordering. That kind of wait time is unreasonable, especially when there was no explanation given.
What really stood out was the contrast after we later stayed at Country Country, which is rated lower but was a huge upgrade in every way. Country Country is gated, has beach security, bellhops to assist with luggage, and rooms that are clean, well-designed, and properly equipped (coffee maker, kettle, dresser, closet, shelving, luggage rack, etc.). That comparison made the shortcomings at Negril Palms even more apparent.
Based on my experience, Negril Palms does not meet the expectations of a 3.5-star resort. With better maintenance, cleanliness, security, and service improvements, it could be much better, but as it stands, I would not stay here again or recommend it. Those that stay here year after year are totally missing out on what other places have to offer.
Second stay at negril palms , love that place . Clean towels every day . The beach is what makes it special . Big up to the manager for letting us store our motorbike at the car park during our trip . Love the security guy what a nice polite man .
See you all soon definitely back this year
I have stayed on the property many times.always happy, no problems. Great staff right on the beach.
The scenery itself made it an experience for my Queen, she never been to Negril. The comfort of walking out our rooms to the beach, other beach restaurants was all convenient. I'm thankful all I spoke about the place came to the real LyFe experience. Thank You 😎
This is a very dirty hotel the customer service at the front desk Snap polite my room, smell like sweat the sheet smell, dirty like sweat. The bathroom was dirty very creepy looking room hotel. There was never anything at the restaurant to order. Very very scary looking hotel.
Travelling solo it was a great place to relax and unwind in September, the pool and beach were beautiful. Room was clean and the fridge was an added bonus. The grounds reminded me of a rain forest especially when it was raining I was still able to sit on my patio and enjoy it.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Will definitely be back again.
Negril Palms Review
Overall, Negril Palms served its purpose and offered great value for the price. The property provided easy parking, and I appreciated that the ackee and saltfish breakfast was both authentic and very affordable.
The main drawback was my room location. I stayed on the ground floor near the entrance, which meant I could hear guests coming and going throughout the day. Next time, I would request the same room on a higher floor for more privacy and quiet.
Rating: 4/5 – Excellent value and convenience, with room location being the main area for improvement.
First night went great love the location and staff
you get what you paid for
Nothing
The facility was very dirty. Reception was very creepy my room. The AC didn’t work. The sheet smell like sweaty. The bathroom was dirty stain all over the toilet the bed the dresser everything was horrible.
Can you believe they served instant coffee and not brewed. That was also without sharing such with me.
Bedroom area though small was ok. Bathroom very small.
Staff wasbattentive
I loved Negril Palms. It was so beautiful and peaceful. I felt like I made friends with the staff there…mainly Legion the bartender and Dania, the main waitress who was always friendly and helpful.
The location
Need update
Lizards made disturbing sounds during sleeping hours.
The location was excellent, right on the beach with easy access to the water and great views throughout the day. It was also very convenient being so close to Margaritaville, where there’s always a fun atmosphere, as well as plenty of restaurants, shops, and activities just a short walk away. It really made it easy to enjoy the area without needing to travel far. Breakfast seemed a bit cheap compared to other hotels, although we didn’t purchase it so I can’t comment on the quality
The sheets were torn, and there were so many ants in the bathroom that it wasn’t usable. The reception staff didn’t come across as very welcoming, and with all the furniture stacked at the entrance, the reception felt more like a storage space than a front desk.
Love the grounds
Loved the location and how the property is designed very nice hidden gem . Loved the fact that the beach was so close and the palm tree were absolutely beautiful. Very clean property and well mannered staff
I wish every room had access to kitchen it was disappointing that more money was required for that. Also for the kitchen on the property I think the prices for breakfast were too expensive
