Had a brief and very enjoyable stay here. Friendly reception, nice room with comfortable bed, coffee- and tea making facilities, and good shower. Great breakfast buffet with plenty choice, fresh produce and friendly staff. The 3-course dinner we enjoyed one night was also very tasty and of good quality. We were served by a charming young lady; I didn't get her name, but I asked her age and she was indeed very young, but did a great job 😊
We stayed here one overnight in combination with a visit to family in Ermelo.
The overall architecture of the hotel is beautiful, with its pond, fountains and sun-loungers.
Buffet breafkfast was extensive.
We made use of the hotel's offer to rent e-bikes, which costed €25 per day per bike, but was a very good experience.
The rooms look a bit dated though.
I stayed here two nights because of a two day training I had in the neighbourhood.
The feel Of the hotel is a bit outdated, and the rooms are a bit smaller than I am used to.
The breakfast was to be ordered a day before due to Corona rules, and therefor it felt a bit poor and there was little choice.
I also ate at the restaurant and a steak ordered “bleu / rare” came back as medium.
Also their choice of beers was rather poor.
4 stars? Really? It is beautiful nature around. Shame, that management is bad. Rooms are very dated and plain. No drink water in the room, no minibar and very dark. Restaurant is the horrible place to eat... Boiled pork belly with overcooked cold two spoons of rice is 24 euro on menu. I will like to see Gordon Ramsey coming here for a bite. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary here and it was a big disappointment for us. Wine card is small and overpriced. Tomorrow booked a 1,5 hour wellness, will see...
We decided to sleep at a hotel during Corona Crisis in order to have a nice little weekend away to get our mind cleared, it ended up in a DISASTER. I didn’t mind the aging room that was in a poor condition of maintenance, but what is absolutely shocking was the crazyness of the owner Mister Snellaars. This is literally what happened. We checked in around 1pm. Coming back from a walk in the forest around 4:00pm, we decided to go for a little walk in the garden of the hotel. Soon after, 3 men went out, including one watching us thoroughly. One employee came to us to ask us if we were sleeping here, which, in my mind, is not matching the level of a 4 stars hotel, which I told hi’. I saw he was a bit embarrassed but I knew his boss asked him, which he confirmed. So, in all honesty, I said that I had nothing against him and that he was only doing his job, but that I wanted to talk to his boss in order to have an open discussion about the do’s and don’t of a 4 stars hotel, and also to ask why he thought that we were not customers (I’m not walking in a forest with a Tuxedo and shiny shoes)
2nn after, employee came back, saying that he was sorry but his boss was “too busy” for us. At that point I became slightly agitated as there were literally 4 clients in the hotel, so we headed to the reception to file a complaint. The employees at the reception were absolutely lovely and earful, but at that point when I started to complain about the behavior of their manager, I heard shouting behind me. Guess who was hiding behind a wall listening to us? Yes, the so called busy boss, litteraly barking in my back that I was on the reception desk and I didn’t respect the rules. Fair enough, my elbow was on the reception desk, but I was 2meters away from the employee. But the funny part is that the boss was continuously barking at me...30cm from my face. When I raised my voice asking for distance and for explanations, he stepped back but this utterly disgusting man came back to my face, saying that “he doesn’t want people like us”. That’s it, out for nowhere. Then it escalated words-wise, and I asked my money back. Never seen that in my entire life, and I visited hotels....
PS: all the employees were lovely, I’d like to emphasize that: it must be really hard to work for somebody that is shouting all the time
