Hotel cancelled our booking less than 3 hours before our check in time!

Cons:

I didn’t like the phonecall I received at 11:15am on the day of check-in. I was advised of an alleged leak/flooding of the room, hotel at full capacity and they could no longer accommodate my partner and I for the evening.

While very apologetic and full refund to be provided, when I asked if they would be assisting us to find other accommodation given it was a hotel fault, I was told they were unable to help. After 10minutes of advising I would be providing a terrible review, they called back offering to assist however this only interfered with securing somewhere else with transition of staffing and phone calls diverting straight to the after hours service and no longer directly to hotel.

For additional context, this was the last weekend of school holidays and there was an international rugby match also being played in Brisbane this night so accommodation was at peak rates and difficult to find new accommodation & match our budget.

VERY stressful experience and we were just grateful we were not travelling from a regional area, interstate or even overseas! Would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

The location was by far the only good thing!

Cons:

Very overrated and in desperate need of a refresher. The apartment I stayed in had holes/rears in the flooring. Damaged walls. Loose mixer tap in bathroom. Shower head is brown along with bath stains and dirty discoloured shower curtain and the toilet roll holder falls off of fixture.
I stayed 2 nights which cost $509 Australian dollars. I’ve stayed in hostels that have been cleaner and definitely betterr value for money. Will not be staying here again!

You Get What You Pay For
Pros:

- A good location and close to many things, we walked everywhere.
- Size of the apartment was acceptable for 2 people.
- Has a small kitchenette, but we didn't use the facilities.
- Parking facilities ($15) were behind a secure gate

Cons:

- No curtains in the bedroom, only blinds and one was broken, so light impacts on your sleep unless you wear an eyemask.
- NOISE. You expect noise to a certain degree but this was beyond, I may as well have been sleeping on the path. Even with earplugs you could hear sirens, cars revving engines, people yelling - the noise didn't dissipate until around 3am. I thought I had read that there was noise reduction in the rooms, but clearly I was wrong.
- Bathroom was extremely musty and had a mouldy smell upon arrival. I couldn't see any mould, but the exhaust vent looked gross and needed a good clean. The bathroom is worn and tired looking.
- This was a last minute booking with limited choices, so I accept my decision but I won't be staying here again.
