Nice size room. Very comfortable bed. Service staff was great! About 0.8 miles from downtown, so kind of far to walk (especially in the heat). Downtown was disappointing. You have to pay to park in town, but it's cheap.
Southern hospitality at its finest. This Inn is a must visit when in Macon. Excellent rooms and beautiful surroundings. Chef Lakecia and Jess made us feel welcomed and at home. Their southern style breakfast was delicious. They also had great treats for our dogs, which they loved. We will be back!
One night stay on a road trip and what a treat!! Lovely place with amazing service. Sarah was such a delight to chat with. The happy hour was nice on front porch and breakfast was absolutely amazing! Get the French Toast for a decadent treat!! Stayed in Gresham room.
We arrived at this lovely 1842 home in the early evening. It looks magnificent from the street with large front porch, white columns and beautiful trees. The evening receptionist was friendly and helpful in getting our bags to our second floor room, the Mercer. It was a spacious room with a desk, couch and three chairs . The lighting was very poor for the room and bathroom. What was most disturbing was the black mold on the bathtub grout. The shower curtain was pretty bad as well. The breakfast in the parlor was served promptly and the cook was very accommodating. What was very annoying and unprofessional was the woman who was sitting at the front desk near us talking loudly on her phone which was on speaker the entire time. I did not care to listen to her friend’s medical problems with acid reflux etc.
the issues with this Inn could easily be rectified with management attention as it is a lovely historic home. Clean up the mold, buy a new shower curtain and train staff on how to interact with guests. We have stayed at numerous historic homes that get it right such as the Wentworth Mansion in Charleston.
This Inn is superb‼️‼️ parking easy; check in easy. Our room was spotless beautifully decorated very comfortable. We had the complimentary drinks and snacks; We had breakfast on the front veranda. Delightful❤️
Gloria who fretted us was very special. Shaneka ( I have probably mispronounced) who prepared and serve us a fabulous breakfast was so kind and engaging, what a delight she was/is. My sister and I will b back soon due to the wonderful experience and time we
had there . Love this place❤️
Had a lovely one-night stay at the Inn to break up a really long drive. Beautiful place, very calm and relaxing. I wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed the patio or the magnificent front porch!
Janet and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly and sweet. They really work hard to make sure you have everything you need and will do whatever they can to make your stay better.
Would absolutely stay again!
This is our 3rd stay here in 2025. We really like this B&B. It is old southern hospitality. From 5pm - 6pm they have happy hour and they serve some delicious home made appetizers. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfy. The bathrooms are a little dated, but everything works. The staff in the evening and afternoon have always been wonderful. Our breakfasts are always delicious. This past visit I had an egg souffle prepared by LaKeisha which was amazing. My husband had their scrambles eggs which were delicious. The inn is surrounded by several beautiful historic homes. In the summertime it's great to sit out on the big porch for happy hour. I highly recommend this place.
My husband and I spent 4 nights at this historic inn in Macon. Honestly, if we had spent one or two nights here, this likely would have been a 5-star review. We stayed in Lyman Hall. The bed was very comfortable. Shower was great. The room is in need of some TLC (paint, new carpet). The staff was lovely and very attentive. The porch was amazing and we spent hours on it over Christmas in the beautiful warm weather.
Breakfast was okay, but a little tiresome after day two…the menu doesn’t change although you have a few options. The evening hors d'oeuvres were also fine, but nothing special and the same every evening. Note, the inn advertises themselves as boutique hotel, not a B & B, and they only have a tiny kitchen, so they do the best they can! Again, if we had only spent a night or two, we would have been perfectly happy. The most important things (comfortable bed, good shower, great staff) were five star.
We have stayed 4 or 5 times over the years and generally enjoy the service and comfort of the place. This year we stayed in the building behind the main house and did not find it as convenient as the main house.
Very quaint little bed and breakfast with a nice bar in the historic part of town…we had a great stay, and recommend it! The breakfast on the porch was excellent.
Excellent breakfast- although it is an old building I felt the outside of the building could of used some upkeep. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The history of building is interesting. Very close to downtown
This was our third visit this year. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Sarah, Lance, and Lakisha are awesome.
Breakfast was great! Room was wonderful. Staff was friendly. Could not ask for a better stay!
Beautiful house with fine and comfortable furnishings.. Elegant.
The staff went above expectations! The breakfast was very good. Our room very comfy. The outside landscaping needs some attention though.
had a pleasant stay, and Charles helped to arrange/suggest place for golf.
Scones were fabulous!
We stayed at 1842 overnight to attend a concert . I would stay again just to hang out !
The staff were incredibly service oriented and everything was done with a smile . The front desk , the kitchen and wait staff, and housekeeping were the best . Cheers to all of you hard working people!
This is a wonderful property with an absolutely wonderful staff. Thank you 1842 for such a great visit!!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The 1842 Inn is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious! The gentleman that served us was nice and very informative about the Inn. I wish the girl that greeted us when we came in had been more informative and friendly. Generally at a bed and breakfast they give you more information when you check in. We couldn’t find her to ask about the evening happy hour or evening fresh cookies. So that was a bit disappointing. Overall the Inn itself was great.
