Stunning hotel, spotlessly clean, huge variety for breakfast
The bed was really poor, our ‘large double’ was two single beds pushed together and also dressed separately with two single duvets too it wasn’t great at all.
Food was exceptional lots of variety to choose from the buffet
Pool setting was always clean and beautiful setting. Facilities were great
Room was always clean always supplied fresh towels. Room well decorated fresh look.

Overall, the hotel did not feel like a five-star property to us – in many respects, not even like a four-star hotel. During the same trip we stayed at two other five-star hotels in Tenerife, and unfortunately Sábila did not come close to either of them. What made this particularly disappointing was the price: our stay here cost approximately twice as much, while in our experience we received considerably less for the money. It left us feeling extremely poor value for money and disappointed that we had chosen to spend five nights here.
The problems started immediately on arrival. We were given warm, damp refreshing towels as a welcome gesture, but they had a strong unpleasant, rotten smell. Unfortunately, I had already wiped my face with it before realising, and the smell was difficult to wash off. I found this astonishing at a hotel advertised as five-star.
One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the highly rated dinner buffet and the expectation of excellent variety, quality and live cooking. The reality was extremely disappointing. There was certainly plenty of inexpensive food such as pasta, pizza and rice dishes, but the selection of good-quality meat, fish, seafood and suitable salads was surprisingly limited. As we have dietary requirements and cannot simply fill our plates with pasta, pizza and rice, this was a major issue for us.
Many of the prepared dishes were simply not enjoyable. This was particularly true of dishes prepared for themed evenings such as Mexican or Tenerife/Canarian nights. Many side dishes were also poorly prepared. Rice dishes were sometimes excessively salty, fish was on occasions drastically oversalted, , 2 times resalted, and on one occasion even fruit or fruit salad had an unpleasant vinegar taste. In general, the prepared dishes were very inconsistent and frequently disappointing.
