If you have a booking with this hotel, rearrange now! The hotel is closed. We arrived 10th Sept 2025 to be told hotel is closed. 2 other couples and a family were in the same predicament. A few angry customers in reception. We were eventually found other accommodation having made several frantic calls to travel agent. People had booked via several agencies including Travelodeal and Loveholidays.
Whilst refurbishment was the reason given but having spoken to people I’m not sure it will re-open as the staff could not really give any information on the future of the hotel.
Our 19 year old son and his girlfriend arrived at this hotel yesterday (9th sept 2025) very late after a 3 hour delay at Bournemouth airport due to the weather in Palma I guess. Finally got to the hotel at 10.30pm their time, only to be told by reception that the hotel is closed due to a power cut, and will be closed all week. They were told they must go through their tour operator to rebook (Love Holidays). They did however let them stay last night thank goodness, in a dark room with no electricity, and no hot water, limited food as well which was stale and inedible. This morning, had to wait for Love Holidays to open at 9am, my sons girlfriend (will only speak to least passenger) got through to an Indian call centre after a painful AI wall. We listened in on the call, it took nearly an hour, finally they now have an email with a list of different hotels, they have to choose, then LH go back to their bookers to check availability, then let our kids know where they will be staying tonight. All in all it has been an absolute nightmare for them, this is their first foreign holiday together, and they are only there 5 days. 2 days so far have been travelling and now sorting out alternative accommodation. A claim for compensation will be coming LH's way as well as ryanair for making them sit on a mon moving plane for 3 hours with no free water, food or cool air. My advice, if you aren't on the island already, keep pestering your tour operators to get you moved before you travel. Good luck x
One week prior to my holiday a cancellation notice has been received.
Since than no answer on phone, no devolution - customer service is zero.
1. You have various expenses along with the booking which was 100% paid half a year in advance like plane, taxi, train, insurance etc. so having a cancellation one week prior is a disgrace
2. Offering a devolution in the original email but not complying with and ignoring the client speaks about the hotel customer service
To sum it up I will never try to book again and would advise not to risk an advance booking with this hotel
We just arrived in last night, only to be greeted with the news that there has been no electricity since Wednesday & it’s very unlikely that it’ll be reconnected any time soon. We have to charge our phones either in the bar, restaurant or reception. Takes forever too. If you’re booked in here soon, I’d get in contact with your booking agent & rearrange another holiday. Very little information forthcoming. Shocking experience for all concerned. I feel for the poor staff as they’re doing their best to power through this. What little electricity there is, is supplied by generators. The place is dead!! Avoid, avoid, avoid!
We had the most fantastic week at the Vell Mari Resort (stayed between 13 - 20 August) and would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the warm hospitality we received throughout our stay.
Before arriving, we’ll admit we were a little apprehensive after reading some negative reviews online. However, from the moment we arrived, we quickly realised we had nothing to worry about.
The reception team made us feel so welcome, a special thank you to Charlotte, who was always on hand to support us, and the other lovely lady at reception who went above and beyond.
The entertainment staff were also amazing people, Oscar, we absolutely loved your energy and enthusiasm (and the really sweet lady you work with too!).
The restaurant staff and cleaners were equally kind and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed.
Yes, the pool bar was closed during our stay, but the resort was only half full, so it made sense. The main bar is just a short walk away and it really wasn’t an issue at all.
The resort itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and has such a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. The beach is only about 15/20 minutes walk down 1 road & it really is lovely. Can definitely recommend getting up for a sunrise walk 🌅
Every single member of staff we encountered genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable, and they succeeded in every way.
We left with the best memories and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this resort for families looking for excellent service, cleanliness, and a truly beautiful setting.
Cancelled our booking with only 20 days notice. Stayed here in 2024 and loved it. Booked it again for this year but they cancelled it due to renovations. People are being sent to a different hotel. Do not book.
We had a confirmed reservation with Vell mari hotel and were looking forward to a family vacation. Everything was planned, including flights and activities for our kids. But just three days before our flight, we were shocked to receive a cancellation notice from the hotel.
They claimed it was due to renovations — but if that’s true, why were we only notified at the very last minute? Renovations are usually planned well in advance. This felt careless and incredibly inconsiderate.
The cancellation threw our entire trip into chaos, caused emotional stress for our kids, and made it extremely hard to find a replacement at such short notice.
Please be cautious if you’re planning to book this hotel. Even a confirmed reservation may not be secure. We hope no other families go through what we did.
We arrived at the hotel on 22.07.25 at 1pm to be told the hotel was being renovated and we did not have a room. The hotel reception tried to blame the suppliers despite me emailing the hotel directly 3 weeks before we arrived (where they said they would try to put our rooms close to each other, even though they knew we had no rooms). Luckily for us, the hotel they transferred us to was really nice and we still managed to have a nice holiday. I used Loveholidays and they were very helpful and booked us an uber back to the airport for departure as the new hotel was 35 minutes away from this one. I would avoid this hotel until renovations are finished. At which point, I think it would actually be a nice place to stay.
Been contacted today by my travel agent to say the hotel has cancelled our booking due to building and refurbishments being made, we were supposed to go in 3 weeks!! I cannot believe the hotel is doing this to people at such short notice. I have read reviews recently and the same has happened to them but cancelled 11 hours before their holiday, I think it is disgusting and they should not be taking bookings for families if this is what they do, I'm so disappointed and now I have to find a new hotel as the alternative i have been given is awful.
Avoid this hotel at all costs! After reading numerous reviews about people being left stranded or without a hotel days before departure I emailed the hotel and jet2 myself to ensure our reservation was secure and was reassured. A few days later only 5 days before flying with 3 young children I was told our hotel was cancelled. Thank goodness jet2 have been amazing and have moved us to a different hotel, but it’s in a different area an hour from where we were supposed to stay. Completely unacceptable. I understand renovations are taking place but the hotel should have things in place to avoid letting so many people down last minute. And should have been transparent days ago to let me know our booking wasn’t secure. Wouldn’t recommend not worth the hassle or anxiety it brings.
Me vietettiin ihanat 5 päivää tässä hotellissa nuorena pariskuntana. Ensinnäkin lentokentältä tuleva bussi pysähtyi heti hotellin takana, joten pysäkille oli vain noin 5 minuutin kävelymatka (hotellin ympäri). Samalta pysäkiltä lähti myös bussi Alcudiaan, mikä oli todella kätevää.
Koko henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällistä vastaanoton, ravintolan ja siivouksen työntekijät tervehtivät aina aidolla ilolla, mikä loi kodikkaan ja lämpimän tunnelman. Uima-allas oli todella kiva, ja sen vieressä oli allasbaari, josta sai paljon erilaisia juomavaihtoehtoja.
Hotellilla oli paljon tekemistä me nautittiin tenniksen ja pingiksen pelaamisesta sekä viihdetiimin järjestämistä hauskasta ohjelmasta, kuten vesijumpasta, vesipoolosta, tikanheitosta ja lentopallosta. “Oscar” viihdetiimistä oli erityisen energinen ja hauska, ja hänen aito ilonsa työtään kohtaan teki kokemuksesta vieläkin paremman. Pidimme myös iltaesityksistä. Kaiken kaikkiaan ihana kokemus ja suosittelemme kovasti.

We had an amazing 5 days at this resort as a young couple, to start off, the bus from the airport stopped right behind the resort, so there’s just a 5 minute walk (around the hotel) to this bus stop which also has a bus that goes to Alcudia, which was very convenient. all staff is extremely friendly including reception, restaurant staff and cleaning staff, always greeting people with genuine joy, which makes the resort have a cozy feeling, the pool is very nice with a pool bar next to it with lots of different beverage options, there was lots to do at the resort, we enjoyed playing tennis and ping pong, and doing fun activities provided by the entertainment team such as aqua gym, aqua polo, darts and volleyball, “Oscar” from the entertainment team was very energetic and fun with clearly genuine joy for what he does which made it even better. We also enjoyed the shows in the evening. The apartments are lovely and we had a nice view of the pool from our balcony, location is good with a lidl right by the resort, and an easy walk or bus ride to the beach, overall a really great experience and would definitely recommend!
Hotel cancelled less the day before departure, due to ongoing refurbishment. TC have arranged another hotel and we will still have a great time. But just beware! Had read other reviews with the same cancellation experience, so didn't come as to much of a shock!!

The room was very clean and beautiful.
The employees are very kind.
The food in the restaurant is very delicious, everyone can find something to their taste. The waiters are very attentive, professional and child-centric, I especially highlight Luis.
The animators are also fantastic. The programs are good, they take a lot of care of the children, the evening mini disco was also great. They lifted our child's inhibitions about the mini disco and gave him an experience of a lifetime. The best team Oscar, Osman and Beyza!

We were very happy that there was a ping pong table and tennis court. I found a deficiency in this one: more good tennis rackets and children's tennis rackets would be needed, with orange balls. The ping pong racket is also a bit worn out and the balls were always broken, there was no immediate replacement.
Overall, a very great place, I recommend it to everyone from the bottom of my heart!

We had read on here about reservations being cancelled at the last minute and other hotels being offered…….wont happen to us we thought as as we had booked our stay months ago………
Guess what? Less than 12 hours before we flew out……they cancelled our booking…….we await to see what the other hotel we have been offered is like……..

Arrived 29th may and left on the 8th June so we had 10 days.
We really liked the territory, the hotel was 1/3 full and that of course added positively to the experience as only 3 buildings worked so less people, more space. The buildings were refurbished and really nice inside. We had all inclusive. We always try to chose quieter time as our son is autistic and being in a very busy hotel would be difficult for him. So it seemed the timing and the amount of people was perfect. We really liked the indoor pool as it was quieter and warmer and I used the sauna several times too, you need to ask the receptionist to switch it on if you want to use it.
The cleaning was great and big thanks to the cleaning ladies, every time the rooms were cleaned really quickly and well. The restaurant is kept clean too.
We loved exploring local food, the restaurant really puts an effort into cooking local Majorkan national specialities: but doesn't explain it well. I had to use chatGPT to search the dishes and how to eat them but I did and it was a great cultural experience then. Food is varied. Just it would be great if the hotel cooked some chicken nuggets for fussy eaters like my autistic son: some chicken nuggets every day would be lovely, he, poor thing, mostly had chips and ketchup but it is difficult for him to try new food. So he lived on the diet of pancakes for breakfast and chips for lunch and dinner. Flies in the restaurant really bothered him. But most people will tolerate them fine of course. I and my daughter we definitely enjoyed trying the sea food , and the vegetable dishes and almond cake and that. Bar was also nice cocktails and alcohol were very drinkable
The staff is very polite and works hard!
We would like to return to this hotel in the future, definitely. Keep your cooks and your cleaning ladies and we will return. The territory of the hotels is absolutely beautiful by the way and Lidl is across the road in case you need something from a supermarket. Muro beach is fantastic we had a car and we drove there every afternoon, the sea was warm and lovely. With small kids if you are looking for relaxing holiday this is definitely a great place. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends a d family.
This is a scam!
We arrived late with tired kids and were told we had to move to another hotel because of renevation. They did not even inform us. And we were moved to an old hotel with less facilities.
Not even sorry for the trouble. Nothing. But of course we had to pay full prize for our stay. Watch out for this scam!

We were bed and breakfast which is a first for me but the marina was a ten minute walk away or 7 euros in a taxi and so many places to eat and drink

With less than 36 hours before we board the plane, the hotel emailed me to say our reservation is cancelled and to contact my booking agent. They have left a family with children including a disabled child without a hotel abroad. The agent knew nothing about it. We fly in almost 24 hours and have no accommodation. Our holiday is ruined. Do not trust this holiday to fulfil your reservation. I would not recommend or ever book again the Vell Mari. Complete let down, lack of compassion for families. Disgusting.

Malgré le peu d'enfants présents en ce début de saison, elle a su mettre en place des activités et ils ont su communiquer avec les enfants malgré qu'ils ne parlaient pas français.
Ce que je n'ai pas apprécié: les murs des chambres sont fins.
Les éléments aquatiques extérieurs étaient trop froids mais des courageux y ont été.
Le jaccuzi était trop froid ou trop chaud.
