Marriott’s Mai Khao Resort - Phuket

We had the most amazing time at Marriott Mai Khao!! The 2 bedroom apartments were amazing and so spacious and quiet. The pool area was relaxing and the staff so great. Our kids loved the kids club and made great friends. Nice to have a few shops and restaurants close by too. Overall we loved our stay and will be back!!

What a wonderful place to stay so relaxing and so well cared for. We have been before and this time was a good as ever. Right from the start we were greeted by Oil and Joy at reception. Such a pleasant experience after a long flight and delays at passport control.
Oil escorted us to our room where our luggage had already been transferred.
Around the pool the following day we met up with the recreation team who greeted us like friends. We had most contact with Gun, Lukling and O but all the staff there were fantastic delivering water and fresh fruit to our poolside location. There were also Izzy and Candy who were friendly faces.
Apple, the recreation manager, led the Friday morning bike ride to the airport beach with O keeping an eye on the group from the rear. Great fun enabling an insight to life outside the resort.
The cleaning staff, Teresa, Sonya and Layla, were also pleasant and efficient with some great skills in the art of towel folding.
Finally I must mention Delights the poolside noodle bar. Great food, a little different than most places in the vicinity. A different 'O' looked after us and guided us through the menu. A very pleasant and helpful gentleman.
Looking forward to our next visit already.

Great hotel for families with excellent facilities. Staff are lovely and go above and beyond to look after the guests. Highly recommend if you like playing tennis. I took many sessions with the tennis pro Nash who was charismatic, insightful, and really helped improve my game - i can't thank enough for his time, he is a real asset to the resort. I also had some great games with one of the staff Dua who is a good player and lovely guy too. We will be back for more next year!

We recently stayed for 3 nights and 4 days with our 5-year-old daughter after a week at Katathani in Kata Noi, and we absolutely loved every moment at Marriott’s Mai Khao Resort.

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed into this small, intimate resort, which is spotless, well-equipped, and perfect for a family getaway.
The morning buffet was a wonderful start to each day. While not huge, it offered a great variety of options, and the staff were incredibly friendly. A special shout-out to the lovely ladies at the egg and noodle station, who made every breakfast extra enjoyable.

The Pool Bar was another highlight of our stay. Bao and Jaew went above and beyond with their cheerful, attentive service, making our poolside time relaxing and fun. Their warmth and professionalism really stood out.

We were equally impressed by the pool and outdoor entertainment team, who brought so much energy and creativity to their activities. From feeding the fish, paddleboat yoga, and mini-golf to bicycle tours, there was always something fun to do. Huge thanks to Khan, Apple, and the rest of the team (sorry for forgetting some names!) for their outstanding service and dedication.

The kids’ playroom was a complete hit with our daughter. With just a pair of socks, she was happily entertained for hours, giving us a chance to unwind. May, Jennie, Kitty, Popcorn, and Minnie created such a fun, safe, and stimulating environment that we couldn’t have asked for more.

What really sets this resort apart is the intimate, personal touch. Despite being smaller than other resorts, the facilities and service are top-notch, and the staff genuinely go out of their way to make families feel at home. Our stay was truly memorable, and we can’t recommend Marriott’s Mai Khao Resort highly enough for families looking for comfort, fun, and exceptional service in Phuket.

This is my second visit to the Resort. I definitely prefer this site.
The staff at the pool, Aqua Bar and Zest restaurant definitely made our stay here so memorable that we are definitely coming back. Khan, Lukling, Tiger, Bella, Pon and Bao were fantastic. Thank you for making our holiday memorable even though it rained every day.

We recently stayed at Marriott's Mai Khao Beach Resort in early October, choosing the spacious 6-person apartment suite. This was our first time booking an apartment-style accommodation at a Marriott resort, and it exceeded all expectations, especially for a family traveling with children.

Superb Accommodation and Convenience
The apartment setup was a game-changer for our vacation. Having a full, well-equipped kitchen allowed us to conveniently prepare meals and snacks, which saved a lot of time and money. The absolute highlight was the in-suite laundry facilities—the washer and dryer completely eliminated the stress of dealing with dirty clothes and wet swimwear. This feature alone makes the suite highly recommended for any long-stay family vacation.

Engaging Activities for Kids
The resort offers a wonderful variety of activities for children. Our kids particularly enjoyed the cultural experiences, such as dressing up in traditional Thai costumes for photos and getting their hair braided. They also loved the simple yet charming fishing activity by the nearby stream. The dedicated children's water play area, complete with a small slide, was a hit for cooling off, though a slightly larger water park area would make the resort even more appealing as the children tended to get bored quickly.

Great Location and Exploration Opportunities
The resort is conveniently located just a short walk from Mai Khao Beach. We had a truly magical experience encountering an elephant on the beach during sunset, which was a huge, unexpected thrill for the children!

For off-resort options, there is a small shopping center and a few restaurants right outside the main gate, which provides a nice change of pace. We also utilized the shuttle service to the adjacent JW Marriott to visit their sea turtle facility. While guests cannot use the JW Marriott’s main pool and facilities, we found that combining time between our resort, walking along the coastline, and exploring the shops outside made for a very satisfying and varied trip.

Outstanding Service and Culinary Recommendation
The general service staff were incredibly warm. A special mention goes to Krabi, who was truly exceptional; he felt like a long-lost friend, engaging us in friendly conversation and taking wonderful care of our two children over the four days.

Additionally, we highly recommend trying the evening Seafood BBQ Buffet. Beyond the freshly grilled and stir-fried seafood, the buffet offered a comprehensive range of delicious local Thai and international cuisine. We appreciated the thoughtful detail of providing mosquito repellent, which made the outdoor dining experience very comfortable.

Five-Star Housekeeping Service: A Special Thank You!
The housekeeping team—Alice, Rachael, and Natacha—deserve their own recognition. After our first night, our children left a simple note expressing their appreciation for the cute elephant towel animal. The team went above and beyond: they left a thoughtful card and used the children’s own stuffed animals and towels to create an elaborate, adorable "zoo" scene on their beds! This personalized touch was incredibly heartwarming and made our children ecstatic. It’s this level of attention and care that truly elevates a good stay to a great one.

We highly recommend Marriott's Mai Khao Resort for any family looking for spacious, convenient accommodation, engaging activities, and warm, five-star service in Phuket.

The property is quite beautiful and well maintained. Everyone at the resort made sure our experience was hassle free. The apartment itself was great. It came with a kitchen that had all the necessary equipment. The property does not have a beach but that was easily compensated for by the shuttle service.

This was our second stay here, and it felt just as wonderful as the first! We travelled this time with family and had two apartments — both spacious, well-maintained, and perfectly located. The staff were courteous and attentive throughout our stay, always greeting us with smiles and making sure we had everything we needed. A special mention to the team who checked in on my husband multiple times when he was down with fever — their kindness truly touched us. They even arranged a buggy to take us to the pharmacy and helped us get the necessary medicines, which we really appreciated.

Room: The plunge pools on the ground floor are a treat. They are immaculately maintained, clean, well-ventilated with all amenities one could ask for. The master bed has a beautiful king-sized bed with wardrobe, television, etc. Its ensuite features a sep bath, shower and toilet area with toiletries provided. The guest bedroom has two double beds with an ensuite with a bathtub (smaller than the master).

Living & kitchen: Living room brings in the views of the splendid outdoors with a fab sofa cum bed, television, dining and open kitchen area. The foyer has umbrellas too and adjoining laundry area with washing machine, dryer, ironing board and laundry basket and stand. The kitchen features everything from rice cooker to pans, cutlery, knives, wine opener, bowls, jugs, juicer, coffee maker, electric gas, etc. There are wine glasses, whisky glasses, bowls, plates, mugs etc enough to have a party for 10-12 ppl. Attention to detail is commendable. There is also an oven with microwave, oven gloves, washing soap for dishes.

Property: The extensive vacation club sprawls across a huge area and kind of overlaps with the other Marriott properties (beach club & JW) and nearby Anantara vacation club -- which is great when you are cycling (available for free of cost and really well-maintained by the staff). There is plenty to keep you busy here including a kids club, snooker room cum lounge, tennis, pickle ball, mini-golf and restaurant Zest along with a pool bar.

Beach: The golf cart option to drop you to the beach is great on rainy days or when you don't want to walk. They are prompt and take you right to the beach. At the beach just a 4-5 minute away is a shower area and phone so you can call the cart when you are done. There is also a massage place right on the beach. The beach in itself is beautiful -- lovely waves and though not apt for swimming -- it is just right for bathing. Spic and span and so clean - we went in the low season so literally 10-12 to people were there across the sprawling beach.

Food: Turtle Village nearby offers plenty of great dining choices — from authentic Thai food at Basil to comfort bites at The Pizza Company and the lively Bill Bentley Pub. Every meal we had there was excellent. Overall, it was another memorable stay filled with warmth, comfort, and genuine hospitality. We’d happily return again!

Weather: Most ppl avoid the rainy season but October might actually work great - We hardly had few bouts of shower during this period and most of the day was sunny and spectacular.

The hotel is a bit old, but the rooms are really spacious — perfect if you’re traveling with family.

What I found a bit disappointing was the hospitality. The staff didn’t seem very friendly or welcoming, and information about hotel activities wasn’t clearly explained. It doesn’t really feel like the usual Marriott standard, especially for Marriott Vacation Club members.

They provide a buggy to go to the beach, which is nice, but there were no staff or signs around the beach area. Also, it seems like anyone can enter the property quite easily without much security checking, which made me a bit concerned about safety.

We had an excellent family holiday at Marriott’s Mai Khao resort. The staff were amazing, the room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. The private plunge pool was nice, but we enjoyed going to the main pool area.

We particularly enjoyed the activities on offer at the resort and the engaging pool and recreation staff of Apple and his wonderful team including Lean, Gun, P, O, Khan, Lukling and Issy. They were so friendly and made our stay truly memorable and so much fun.

The cultural bike tour of Mai Khao village was a highlight. We also enjoyed ping pong, pickle ball, water polo, mini golf and the aqua classes. The cultural activities including towel folding, vegetable carving and traditional Thai costume dress up were a nice experience too.

The shuttle and buggy rides to the beach and other Marriott properties were handy as was the close proximity to Turtle Village for restaurants, groceries and shopping.

We enjoyed drinks at the Aqua Bar by the pool and Tiger, Bao and Bella were great and even knew our drink orders without being told! Noodles at Delight restaurant were great as well.

Overall, the resort was great and the staff and service brilliant. We can’t wait to visit again!!

My 6 nights stay there was amazing with attentive and friendly staff who always exceed my expectations to take care of the needs of my family. Special thanks to the following staff for making my stay there with my family a memorable one! They are the staff from the Kids club Team (Kitty, Popcorn, Pia, Jenny, Candy) and the Pool & Recreation Team (Lukling, Lean, Gun, Man, Khan, O, Gorrie, Issy)

We enjoyed our stay at Marriott Mai Khao Vacation Club. The villa was spacious, very clean, and well maintained with detailed daily housekeeping. It came with a fully equipped kitchen, plus a washer and dryer that worked perfectly—great for families and longer stays. The resort environment was calm and pleasant, with easy access to a nearby mart for daily essentials. Staff were friendly and attentive. On the downside, there was a slight mouldy smell in the room, and the free shuttle service felt more like a truck than a resort vehicle. Overall, a comfortable and practical place to relax.

One star rating to the management of the resort and the way they handled the situation. For you to judge.

We had an unpleasant incident during our stay that I feel the resort must be aware of. During breakfast, my 2-year-old and 1-year-old were quietly eating with their nannies and watching an iPad. Another guest came over, told them to turn down the volume or shut the iPad off, and then touched the iPad himself to try to lower the volume.

This behavior is completely unacceptable. No one should approach or touch someone else’s children or their belongings, especially without speaking to the parents or involving the staff. This man poses a serious concern to children, particularly since the resort is full of families and kids everywhere. It made our nannies and children feel unsafe and very uncomfortable.

I strongly urge the resort to remind guests that any concerns should be addressed through the staff to ensure the safety and comfort of all families staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at Marriott Mai Khao Phuket. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and very family-friendly. The pool is great, and they offer plenty of kids’ activities, including a kids’ club, fish feeding and fun bicycle rides.

The staff were extremely friendly and considerate, which made our trip smooth and enjoyable with a toddler. The beach is just nearby, and the resort provides a shuttle service to their sister family resorts, which was very convenient.

Another big advantage is Turtle Village, located right outside, with shopping, restaurants, a convenience store, and some really good food options.

Overall, a fantastic choice for families looking for relaxation, fun, and thoughtful service.

This resort was great! There was no shortage of things to do on this resort it was packed with activities daily.

We had a 2bdrm suit and it was very clean and modern. The breakfast at the resort was very good I would suggest the French toast and the fried rice. The beach was so beautiful there are elephants that come on the beach every evening. The water had a lot of flying fish which was cool to experience. Only downside (not the hotels fault) is that we were unable to order food to the hotel on the apps I don’t think the food apps drive to that area. So we got food at the resort I didn’t find the noodle house the best nor the food surrounding the resort. Other than that Mai Khao was great and I would go back it’s very quiet compared to Nai yang which was packed with a lot of ppl.

We stayed as a family of 4. The room is big and equipped with everything we need. Special thanks to the housekeeping team for their excellent work. The concierge staff were amazing ( Siddiq , Joe , Alex , Nick and Por ) . The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful especially Don , George and Bella. Spa was amazing too . Kids club was a bit small but we loved the idea of adding switch devices. I hope to add more activities for kids ages 8+ .

The resort is Huge! It has everything that one requires to have a complete leisure time. It has options for all age groups. The two BR apartment is superb. Its just as shown in pictures. Ample of space, king room is big and has an extra large bed. Washroom is huge and well designed. Kitchenette has everything- fridge, induction, microwave, utensils, plates. U name it, they have it. Check in was smooth and so was check out.
We had a great stay at the resort. Highly recommend if you have a vacation club package which is very much affordable.

We were a family of 4 and we really enjoyed our stay at Marriotts Mai Khao Resort. The rooms were spacious, neat and well kept. The staff were polite and courteous. Over all we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend every one to visit this property

We liked the room we stayed in. It was so comfortable-from the beds to the kitchen, they thought of every detail. Our balcony felt very private. Loved having laundry in the room. The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond every single time we interacted with them. Excellent property and services! So well maintained. We also liked that there was a sister property that was walkable. We frequented the Turtle Island shopping center for dinner and shopping as well. The kids absolutely loved the pool areas. We would definitely stay here again!
