Location was good but the motel needs some serious cleaning and upgrades. Everything was dirty. Won’t be staying here again!!
Room was dirty. Mattress was horrible. Needs serious upgrades!!
The beds were comfy, room was clean, the temperature was perfect
That the sofa didn’t pull out into a bed. Our kiddo ended up sleeping on the floor and there was no extra bedding provided for the couch at all and this was the main reason we went with this hotel.
Terrible experience, from an establishment that uses the internet to determine whether or not they will discriminate against an individual’s rights. I answered their questions, and after they incorrectly googled the information I provided. I was informed they had a choice to not accommodate me. I was mortified & humiliated & in all my travels have never been treated like I was in Idaho. Definitely not the dignity & respect I have always received from best western.
The location
It seemed the carpet in the room was sticky
We stayed at the BW ‘Plus’ in Caldwell Idaho for a work trip. Their fitness center doesn’t open until 7. We had to leave at 7. When I asked a worker Kristie if I could use it she said she was sorry she doesn’t make the rules she has to follow them. She said I was welcome to run up and down the stairs. I’m sure that won’t bother anyone staying here! So ridiculous. Most places have 24 hour fitness centers. Give me a break BW Caldwell. I won’t stay here again or any other ‘Best Western Brand’.
Nice facilities. Clean
Breakfast, noise from truckers across street and freeway, pillows
Great
Everything was what we were looking for.
The price was perfect for our family and the accommodations.
The rooms smells very strongly of pinesol the whole stay.
This is not a Plus level Best Western in terms of facility and customer service.
If you stay here, do this:
Upon check in, ask to view the room to see if it meets your criteria
If the room is not up to your standards, ask for a different room before check in
If the room is not up to your standards and they cannot put you in a better room and you are forced to stay the night, then tell them you are checking out in the AM.
These tips are to avoid being charged for a room that you did not stay in if you leave because the hotel is sub standard.
The staff is not inclined towards customer service, they are all about getting the money for any room stays and 'cancelled' rooms if you need to check out early because the hotel is not up to par.
The hotel needs renovation.
The 'gym' is little more than a few machines and treadmill in a stinky room with little ventilation ...it was hot and gross in there.
There is construction debris in the hallways....not sure why in Jan 2026, I didn't see other construction notifications.
TLDR: Use Expedia to get a better deal and make sure to use their support for problems as they much fairer and easier to work with.
Arrived at midnight after making arrangements to check-in late. Staff tried to turn us away because my spouse was not there and booking was in her name. I had no idea that was a thing. Hotel staff said because we booked through Expedia they couldn't do anything. They said Expedia was shady to work with. I was exhausted after driving through 5 hours of rain and snow, so pretty much just sat there until they came up with something. Seemed like forever. They eventually cancelled our Expedia reservation and created a new one at a much higher rate. We didn't need the same size rooms anymore because my spouse wasn't there. The hotel didn't care about that, either. They booked us for the max.
I called Expedia the next day. Turns out Expedia has 24/7 support and if I would have called them they could have fixed the issue by changing the name. Expedia tried to work it out with Best Western, but Best Western wouldn't budge. Expedia at least refunded my money from them. If I hadn't called I would have been charged by them, too.
Turns out Best Western seemed like the shady ones to me. They could have just told me to call Expedia and everything would have been fine. I told them how Expedia had helped me when I checked out. They were argumentative and didn't seem interested in helping future guests. Even my daughters told me not to waste my breath with them.
It seemed like Best Western took advantage of us as much as they could. The accommodations weren't great. They're renovating RN. The only thing good about the stay was the location. Will be looking for something different next time.
The person at the front desk was rude. I was traveling with a disabled person and the hotel says it is pet friendly on the website. They refused to give is our room keys because she has a legal emotional support animal. I have the paperwork showing it’s a registered emotional support animal. And they wouldn’t refund our money or give us the room keys.
I don’t know, I wasn’t expecting to be turned away. They took my money quickly but discriminated against my disabled traveler
After a full day of moving out of our home and cleaning it, we were denied a room we had already paid for through booking.com. They said the reason was that we lived less than 20 miles of the hotel. I still don't understand this, and no one at the hotel or booking.com could explain it to me. We did not have access to our new home until closing and recording the following day, thus the need for a hotel room for one night. We paid, we did NOT get a room, and had to find another hotel for the night. They truly do not care and will not refund the money we paid for a room. Don't waste your time and money here. They do NOT care about you.
