Sehr gute Lage
Das Zimmer hatte überhaupt kein Fenster nach draußen, man hatte das Gefühl man schläft im Keller.
Man hat das erklärt mit dem alter des Gebäudes.
Alles ist alt und kaputt.
To say this place is a toilet is an insult to toilets. It’s a historic building that has been neglected by its owners. The room was dark and dingy. The carpet is so old the seams have split. Valet parking guys were the only shining lights. I’d stay somewhere else. Hilton should pull out.
This is the worst Hilton property I have ever stayed in! The staff were great but the hotel is falling down around their ears. The hotel is way past needing an upgrade. The carpet was awful, worn and dirty. The wallpaper was peeling off. The furniture in the room was dilapidated. We were in the handicap accessible suite which was quite difficult to use. The sink was not accessible. The lotion, soap and shampoo not reachable from a chair and the toilet was too far from the wall with the grab bar. The bed was comfortable and just a little too high. The plants in the lobby were dying. The breakfast was terrible. After the first morning we went to a coffee shop around the corner. The cooked food was all burned by the guy manning a grill that was filthy and way too hot. The "fresh fruit" had rotten strawberries in it and strawberries that all had not been hulled (green tops still attached). The cost was astronomical for this property I presume because of its central location. Not worth it!!!
Le style de l'hôtel avec ses balcons et patio, son emplacement et le petit déjeuner.
La literie, la salle de bains avec baignoire et l'état vieillissant en général
One of the elevators was broken which was an inconvenience
This hotel is in a great location and has a cool history with the citadel. Being an Embassy Suite we always enjoy the double rooms and the usual good service. With that said, this facility is in need of an overhaul. Chipping paint, dingy carpet, worn out furniture, and elevator problems. Keep your staff just fix the hotel.
This hotel has a lot going for it: great location, building is historic and architecturally interesting, friendly staff, rooms are spacious. However, our room could only be described as "dingy". The carpeting was badly stained, furniture was chipped, paint was peeling and the window was too dirty to see the park outside. Rooms desperately need to be updated. Very disappointing when it could be great.
breakfast was good.
The room needed updating.
Pro: great location and great potential, beautiful entry.
Con: room was desperately in need of renovation. Carpet stained and unraveling, furniture looked like it was 50 years old; worn and out dated. Two double suite with beds pushed up against the walls. Horrible lighting.
I would suggest you stay at a different location.
Booking.com screwed up the reservation but travon fixed it and we had a good solution
Great staff, breakfast, evening drinks and snacks
Elevator wasn't working well for 3 days. The other was broken
The location was excellent. The hotel on the outside and inside was gorgeous with all the Xmas decorations. The breakfast was amazing! having so many sitting areas around with the Xmas decorations and lights, the aroma of the coffee and the biscuits, maple syrup made the place so cozy and homey! it was truly a pleasure to be there on the holidays.
Then you get to the room, it is soooo old, smells stuffy and I felt I couldn't breathe at night to sleep! I ask for a different room, no one got back with me or bothered to replace my room! tiny bedroom and not comfortable at all. the staff had a in front of our room and very unprofessional and very loud.
Good
Window
The breakfast and happy hour were nice. I was mostly disappointed with the state of the facility. It was very old and did not feel as clean as when I have stayed in Embassy Suites in the past. Especially for being located in downtown Charleston and the cost of the one night stay being over $300.
The conditions of the facility and the cost of parking being almost $50 per night.

I graduated from The Citadel in 1971 and was back to celebrate our 55th anniversary. We wanted to stay at the Embassy Suites Charleston - Historic District because of its relationship to The Citadel. We were downtown in the historic district, went out to eat at many charming restaurants, and completely enjoyed ourselves.
