Food was excellent.
Gardens beautiful
We were on second floor with no lift. Many stairs not easy with luggage. And elderly! Three of the 4 wall lights did not work.
Ok
Went previously and gave a bad review and they rung me to ask me to remove the bad review as it looks bad in their business. If the business wasn’t such bad standards, a bad review would not have been written. Proceed to say they would do a complimentary afternoon tea if I removed review and showed them I deleted the review. If I did not delete review, and write a 5* review, I would not get their afternoon tea.
Be warned, people may have deleted their bad reviews and done a better one at the price of a free afternoon tea after being asked to remove it.
Businesses shouldn’t be asking people to remove bad reviews as it looks bad for this business, they should be working on fixing the business to reduce the bad reviews.
This is not great.
Definitely not luxury. So much potential- quite run down. Could be updated. Broken chairs everywhere.
Nice place
Spa facilities dirty and very outdated.
I thought the balance of value, quality and service was very good indeed. They seem to really care about their guests and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The food is good, there are lovely garden areas and the Spa is awesome with its outdoor Spa pool looking out over the field. It was fully booked when I was there and I'm not surprised. Thanks everyone, PW
We were on a spa break deal which included accommodation, use of spa, 50 minute treatment and breakfast. The afternoon tea was delicious and definitely the highlight of our break. The hotel grounds were beautiful, and the reception area and dining area were well presented. The bedroom was fine, a bit outdated but clean and spacious. The indoor pool and spa area were disappointing, a bit tired and not quite clean enough for our liking. Outdoor spa was better but hot tub not quite warm enough. We both had full body massages which were average. Staff were frienfly and overall, it was ok for the price we paid, but I don't think we would book again
The staff were excellent
The property externally and its gardens are beautiful and well maintained.
Restaurant and food at dinner were good and menu well planned. Maitre d attentive and professional.
Price was good.
Sad tired room, peeling wall paper and cracked paint, trailing wires. Beds not exceptional. Needs a good deep clean - woodwork marked, mould in bathroom, carpets updating. Evidence of inattentive cleaning, I found pills, false finger nails and false eyelashes on the floor. I can only assume the room hadn’t been thoroughly vacuumed. The free drink offered as an apology wasn’t forthcoming.
Dinner would have been lovely, however guests were very drunk shouting and yelling across the restaurant, disrupting the experience for others. In fairness the Maitre D did attempt to quieten the situation but to no avail. They continued to be served alcohol, when actually they needed to be removed from the area.
Spa was great, clean and well mantained.Gym had all the equipment I needed for good work out and was also kept very clean. Staff was very helpful and room was stylish and clean. Outside area, terase and gardens were stunning, well kept and vegetation blooming which added to experience.
There was nothing I particulary did not like
Situation
Shower and bath in room 54 were faulty - difficult to adjust shower head and bat knob wouldn’t turn
Friendly staff.
The gardens, the pool are great but the outdoor Jacuzzi is the best bit.
Great value.
