This would be a very nice conveniently located hotel that is spoiled by the absence of any normal lighting. From the lobby to the rooms one can barely see. This coupled with the gray tones and absence of color make for a very dismal experience. The staff was nice and what we could see of the facility was clean, but turn on some lights!
I have stayed at Radisson Blu Zurich Airport previously – it is an ok hotel for an airport stopover.
This time I booked two nights. I did not end up staying, but want to share my experience because it says so much about the hotel’s approach to customer service.
I had two prepaid, non-refundable room bookings. Then my flights through the Middle East were cancelled (for obvious reasons). The hotel refused any refund, which they had a right to do. I was then able to re-book a new flight and contacted the hotel in good faith to request a change of dates rather than a cancellation.
The hotel’s response was ‘sure’, but to do this via the online agent I used to book the room. So I did. The online agent confirmed there was availability and called to confirm. The hotel did not answer the call. The agent then sent a formal request to the hotel, asking for a response within 48 hours. I also followed up directly with the hotel. The hotel replied that the team would ‘do its best to assign the room to you according to your preferences’.
The hotel then failed to respond within the 48 hour timeframe.
From that point, the situation became increasingly frustrating. I contacted Radisson Customer Care. This did not help at all, flipping from offering a change at a much higher price (and for one booking only) - to asking for proof of cancellation, and ultimately redirecting me back to the online agent despite the agent already having done all they could, and all they needed to. And all though this, I kept receiving ‘we cant wait to welcome you’ messages from the hotel.
The whole process dragged over three weeks. The hotel and its customer service showed a lack of clear, consistent communication and ownership. The process required multiple follow-ups, involved shifting positions, and ultimately resulted in no resolution.
The final response from Radisson Blu was simply disingenuous - 'As the reservation remains prepaid and non-refundable, there are therefore no further modifications that can be processed from our side.' Which is simply untrue.
Clear and consistent customer service is just as important as the stay itself, and in this case it was poorly lacking. I won't be using Radisson again.
We chose this hotel because of its walking distance from the terminal at Zürich Airport. Other than its convenience, nothing truly special, in fact, a bit sterile looking. Staff were friendly. But the hotel is expensive for the basic type room available and this does not even include breakfast! However, I would stay here again if I had an early morning flight, as was our case.
entered the hotel restaurant at 6 pm and I was the 3rd person in the restaurant. my food arrived at 18:50, when I asked why it was so late, the waitress told me that there were many orders, but when I arrived there was no one there. ok the food was brought to me, I think the hotel maid would have prepared it better. Hotel, desperate.
Very nice hotel very practical for the airport. But disappointing that there is no porter service to help with luggage to the room. With a hotel of this standard, one would expect this.
Amazing hotel good size rooms and very close to airport . Everything you need when travelling
We had two one night stays at the start and end of our trip. Very easy walk to terminal and shopping. Rooms were large. One had a tub one just had a shower. The tub was very high and people with short legs or mobility problems would struggle to get in and out. We had drinks at the bar they expensive but good. We ran into an issue where they got confused and gave my parents access to our room versus their room. Then took away all of our access to my husbands and I room. It was a bit unnerving.
Nice hotel, beautiful lobby and bar, but seriously needs to improve on staffing. Understaffed and the ones that are there
also seem to be not very efficient and professional. One male staff member also got very nasty to his female co-worker (who seemed more senior to him) in the middle of the bar in front of all the guests.
Everything you don’t want after a long day of travel: long queue at checkin, no room service, reception doesn’t pick up the phone, hotel restaurant rejects us because we have no reservation, hotel bar is a complete zoo with dirty dishes standing on tables everywhere and staff refuses to serve you (we had to get dinner from a supermarket), hard foldout bed for the kids with dirty and subpar linnen. Most horrendous airport hotel experience ever.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the hotel while attending a training program, and I was thoroughly impressed by both the property and the level of service throughout my stay.
Although I arrived early on Sunday and was fully prepared to simply store my luggage, the receptionist proactively checked for room availability and was able to accommodate me. He was exceptionally friendly, professional, and welcoming, which set a very positive tone from the outset.
The rooms are spotless, modern, and highly comfortable. The banquet team ensured that we were extremely well looked after during our lunches and coffee breaks, with attentive and efficient service. I also dined at the hotel on three evenings and was consistently impressed by both the quality of the cuisine and the high standard of service.
My sincere thanks to the entire team for their outstanding hospitality. Please keep up the excellent work.
My stay at the Radisson blue in Rümlang was a lineup of failures - start to finish.
Incompetent and arrogant staff at the front desk, security breaches (assigning my room to another party after I occupied it, granting them access with a key without my consent or knowledge, with my pet in the room at the time). The hotel owned restaurant providing a service that does not deserve to be called that. Including prompting for tip by the waiter. Repeatedly non-working room keys. The bathroom in my room emitting a pleasant urine odor and mold and lime scale in the shower. The GM using sloppy salutations in communications about those un-worldly experiences.
That's as close as you can come to a hospitality hell.
Early departure need less hustle, good for short stay, not long stay especially there’s no view from the window
The hotel is conveniently located in the airport. Very well presented, cleaned and maintained. Very friendly staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. We had an amazing time. Many thanks!
Painfully expensive location for food ($50 burger...) and drink but convenient location once you can find your way through the labarinthyne track from station to hotel... the mediocre signposting is the fault of the airport not the hotel...but easiest route is simply get outside from check-in areas and walk beside the road .....
Stayed for one night for transit only. Too expensive. Arrived after 10 pm. Restaurant was closed for the day. No food or room service available. Shower and tub area too small and tight. Could be designed better. Needs improvement. Small beds but excellent quality bedding and room temp control so was able to get a good night sleep at least. But based on all of the above, would not pay this much to stay there again. Nor recommend. And Too expensive. Chose because of proximity to Zurich airport and accessible from inside airport. But still have to clear passport control. So no advantage there either.
Service was quick and efficient. Super practical that you can walk to and from the airport indoors and in literally 2 minutes!
This hotel is very convenient for travelers departing early in the morning or arriving late at night, and the rooms are comfortable.
Unfortunately, our experience with the staff was disappointing. At check-in, the receptionist did not greet us and continued chatting with colleagues instead. At check-out, the receptionist appeared disengaged and offered no courtesy or acknowledgment.
Given the otherwise convenient location and comfortable rooms, we feel that improved staff training—particularly regarding professionalism and basic hospitality—would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
Very clean hotels and friendly employees. Keep up the good work.location was great for traveling.
Like the shoe machine.
We had a very good stay at the hotel. It is right at the airport so very convenient and only 10 minutes by train to the centre of Zurich. The rooms are clean and spacious. We also tried out the robot mini bar service. Quite good.
I had an early morning flight from Zurich so I checked into the Radisson Blu the day before. The hotel ticks all the boxes. First of all it is super practical. I just had a short walk inside the airport to check in terminal 2. The baggage cart was a super help to carry my 2 suitcases. The hotel is very very nice and super clean - as you would naturally expect in Switzerland. The rooms are large and very well furnished - also sound proofed. All in all a great experience which I will repeat again.
