The pumpkin festival in Half Moon Bay is a beautiful event, in the clean air and cold waters of the Pacific Ocean where teens surf Mavericks in El Granada and the locals eyes are always discernable, clear as a bell. I love you Half Moon Bay, thank you for voting me most spirited teacher during Homecoming week all those years ago, I will never forget any of you especially You, Manny Arellanes

Oceano is a great place to stay during the winter. It’s next to the pier and within walking distance of several restaurants. There’s even a few shops behind the hotel.
The room was clean and spacious.
Ample parking lot available if you’re renting a car or driving yourself.

We stayed in a Deluxe King Suite facing the water and it was wonderful. Plenty of space with a nice fireplace and a balcony big enough for two of us to sit on. Very relaxing and in a convenient location with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, as well as onsite. Highly recommend!

My son and I stayed here over his spring break, and we had an excellent experience. The resort was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly suited for a relaxing vacation. The staff were friendly, helpful, and genuinely made us feel welcome.
The attached mall is on the smaller side, but there’s still plenty to do nearby. The location feels safe, it’s easy to walk to restaurants and shops, and the overall atmosphere is warm and inviting. It’s not ultra-trendy or high-end, but that’s part of its charm—it’s clean, convenient, and ideal for families or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Great stay- beautiful room- perfect spot to spend time in and around Half Moon Bay

Room clean, bed a little on hard side. Furniture low and hard as well. Room spacious and balcony with harbor view fantastic. Staff all pleasant and kind. Food available Thursday through Sunday. However there are many food options within walking distance.

Beautiful room and view

Driving up to this hotel, we passed what seemed to be an RV graveyard. Not a good start.
It overlooks a (noisy) street, a parking lot, restaurants, and the harbor.
Checked in, and noticed very decrepit, old furniture in the hallways. I figured, well, maybe it's just in the hall.
Nope. The furniture in the room is old, chipped, in dire need of being painted (photos attached). And as others have mentioned, what's with the shutters in the wall between the bathroom and bedroom?
But...we were in a large room in the main building. Anything other than the furniture was fine. And actually, sitting on the balcony was actually fairly nice, despite hearing numbers being called from the restaurant and motorcycles.
I would also like to give a shoutout to Stephen in the lobby restaurant. After a long day of traveling and a plane delay and being disappointed in the hotel, he was the best part of the whole day.

This place is a real gem! The area is amazing especially on a paddle board. So many pelicans! Hotel is clean, well decorated & the rooms are large. Will be back.
