Poor Accommodation Freezing pool. Reception Staff unwelcoming! Be prepared to walk up hill & miles to your room … breakfast was terrible inedible. Our room wasn’t cleaned ONCE all week. It was my 60th birthday celebration. Avoid!
La vue, l’emplacement
La literie, les oreillers trop dur! le matelas faisait le creux !
Quantité insuffisante du plat du dîner, heureusement qu'il y avait un buffet de desserts.
Großartige Lage, tolle Aussicht, super nettes Personal und tolles Essen.
We stayed in an apartment with lake view at the end of April/beginning of May for 10 days and had a great time. We booked via Jet2 for a family of 4.
I was nervous about the apartment due to some of the reviews on here but needn’t have worried. The apartment was clean and well-equipped and did not smell at all. No issues with ants either. The rooms aren’t super-modern but that isn’t what I was expecting so did not have an issue with this. We had everything we needed. Our towels were changed mid way through our stay but you can ask for extras if you need. There is also a laundry room on site but I did some hand washing at the apartment and used the clothes airer on the balcony.
Staff at the resort were friendly and attentive whenever we needed them.
The facilities are great and we used the pool several times and my teen sons used the football courts and games arcade. The pool is not heated but we had some hot days where it was still nice to get in to. There is a QR code to scan in reception which gives you all of the resort information and timetables. The spa is lovely and I had a fantastic facial and spent time in the sauna and wellbeing pool.
We didn’t eat at the resort restaurant as we were self-catering and cooked in the apartment a few nights. We did have some snacks from the pool bar and these were good. There is a lovely little wine bar in Garda called Enoteca Alla Calle, which is like stepping back in time - definitely recommend a bottle of the Lugana.
We walked into Garda most days and if you have no mobility/health issues it’s not a bad walk at all. We walked back and also got the shuttle a few times. It does get busy but the drivers are so helpful and will do extra runs if needed. The supermarket on the way down is much better value than the one opposite the bus station where the shuttle drops you.
We had a lovely walk into Bardolino and did trips to Malcesine & Sirmione. We also spent a night in Milan, with a trip to Monza race track, and found it really easy to get to via train.
There were some events on over the weekends of our stay and the resort was very busy but it is big enough to not feel overcrowded.
We did have some occasional noise from the air conditioning unit in our room but we always travel with ear plugs just in case and we all slept really well. I’m sure if we had asked it could have been checked and sorted but we managed without needing to.
As other people have mentioned, adapters are the three pin type, not standard European but we were prepared for this. They have some you can borrow at reception. We also asked for clothes hangers and these were brought to us straight away. Air conditioning unit is centrally controlled out of season, but again, we were expecting this and the rooms were cool enough for us. I had also packed a couple of travel fans.
All payments are billed to your room and there is no option to pay by cash/card at the resort but you can also buy a pre-paid card to use if that works better for you. City tax was €5 per person per night and paid on our bill at the end of our stay.
Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend to others. Loads to do for families and for those who want to use the resort as a base. The resort is beautiful with spectacular views, especially at sunset. And the dawn chorus from the balcony is just beautiful. I got up early every morning just to enjoy it with a hot drink.
