In response to feedback from guests the hotel has decided to protect privacy and stop offering automatic daily servicing of rooms. If guests staying for more than two nights want housekeeping it can be arranged upon request. For all guests a basket of fresh supplies will be placed outside room doors after the first night and replenished daily as required.

Excellent hotel, reasonably priced, well located, and with a knowledgeable proprietor.
Pros:

Proprietor is a lovely guy who is a trained City Guide and has excellent knowledge about Gloucester and a passion for the city's history. He also a good cook and the whole atmosphere is of a quiet and well-run place.

Pros:

We had asked for room suitablefor someone with mobility problems, this was not passed on to the hotel and we were allocated room on 4th floor with no lift. They immediately altered us to a room on lower floor which was much better
We could walk into city from the hotel which was very nice especially as roadworks on way in which was causing delays. Staff really friendly.

I had a noisy neighbour. I appreciate having a fridge is a bonus but the whirring was annoying at times.

Very impressed.
Pros:

Just back from 2 nights at Edwards Hotel and very pleased. We had a King room at the front, it was very quiet and with a comfortable bed, we had 2 good nights sleep. All rooms are ensuite with a fridge and microwave, plus the use of a kitchen. Above all, it is very clean. The owners provide everything required for an excellent stay. They are also very knowledgeable and informative of the area providing a town map with several pubs and restaurants listed. Breakfast is available and is highly rated. There is also a nice local pub serving food within 100m. Safe, hidden, free car park is a boon. The Cathedral and town is a 10 minute walk or a No 10 bus. We enjoyed our stay and will use again as our base when visiting the area.

Lovely family-run hotel - highly recommended
Pros:

The staff were friendly and very helpful - we asked for an early check in and that was happily provided. The room and bed were comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The location is great - quick from the motorway and a 10 minute walk to the centre.

Cons:

My only small criticism would me that the water pressure in the shower is very low - this might just be an issue upper floors though
