a really well designed hotel, little touches about Gloucester mixed with very practical room layout and unbelievably helpful staff. Best hotel at this price
it is about 20 minutes walk into the town centre - not too far for most but you may want to drive

La cittá
It catered for our family needs and the owners were friendly and took an interest in us. It was a short walk to shops and walking distance to dock area and restaurants. Parking onsite at rear of hotel.
Not the best area of town and our double room was a bit small although there are larger rooms available to book.
Very clean and close to where I was working.
The decor is a bit dated but the place is spotless and the beds comfortable.
The owners were very welcoming, the single room was very light, airy and well equipped, unlike many single rooms in other joteld I have stayed in, and the breakfast was excellrnt.
I liked everything.
Lovely people and great hotel

Location, easy walk to town centre. Although it is an old building and you could hear steps from upstairs ( and I was expecting to hear much more) everyone was very respectful so no disturbance accrued during our stay. Beautiful interior, lots of pictures and history on the walls, coffee and kettle in the room, nice and quiet garden. Good size bed, comfortable as well. Ventilator was available in the room but not needed as it wasn't very hot.
Lovely hotel with nice facilities like a fridge, microwave and a lovely garden
As the building is a historic building, it does creak in some places during the night
What did I like? Everything really. Room was spacious, very clean, quiet and well above all expectations. The bed was also marvellously comfortable.
We had originally booked on line without contacting the hotel directly but being disabled, I then rang the hotel to request that a parking slot be reserved. The owners very kindly put my mind at rest regarding this -but also suggested that a GF room would be better for me as opposed to the room I had originally and inadvertently booked, (Stairs)!! So I really felt that there was a personal, family touch and that our stay was important.
The owners are incredibly helpful and can offer advice (and directions) as to the best places to eat as well as local attractions. We were here for evensong and the cathedral itself is well worth a visit.
We went for the lighter breakfast although a traditional full English was also available along with tea/coffee/juice/etc. In the dining area, the walls are tastefully covered with numerous pictures depicting people with a connection to the name Edward -I think! See how many you can spot if/when you stay.
There is also a lovely, small garden area where guests can sit and relax and the hotel lends itself well to individuals/couples/families and guests staying for business or pleasure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return very soon.
The road works (!!) -although this is hardly the hotel's fault.
The owner was friendly and helpful and the accomodation comfortable.
Facilities are fairly basic but clean and functional.
Location is ideal close to city centre.
Comfortable and very tidy room has everything you need.
Very clean, comfortable roomy property, staff were excellent & very helpful
Breakfasts were mediocre to average. Bar was not open during the duration of our stay, and did not appear to be stocked.
Cooked Breakfast was good. Edwards is within easy walking distance of Gloucester City centre and the Dock/Quay area.
It’s proximity to central Gloucester.
The room location felt a bit too secluded.
Very friendly staff good hospitality...Fantastic money value for 2 rooms , one with 2 single beds and one with extra king size ...
Nice surprise with good mattress quality...
