This hotel is ideal for a short stay but we would not want to stay here for a week.
Pros:

Very convenient location overlooking sea front and close to all amenities and 24 hour parking directly opposite the hotel for £2.50 a day with ticket purchased from reception. A spacious, clean hotel with a beautifully decorated dining room. The staff were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful.

Cons:

The breakfast was very disappointing. Overcooked bacon and sausage and undercooked, over seasoned egg is not good value for £20. We had to ask for extra pillows as they were too flat for our liking. Our biggest gripe was the inadequate space available in our room to make a cup of tea which was on a very small low level table almost at ground level. We had to buy bottles of water and fresh milk every day as we do not like uht milk sachets. There was also a fixed low level mirror on the dressing table which you had to crouch down on the floor to see into which would not be ideal for elderly guests with mobility issues. Just to be nit picky It might have been kinder to leave an extra sachet of biscuits for 2 guests instead of one sachet, especially for the price we were paying.

Central location comfortable and clean hotel
Pros:

Very central and on the sea front. The hotel was clean and pleasant

Cons:

Our room on the top floor was quite airless and there was a problem with seagulls if you opened the window too much. But the hotel gave us a fan and this improved things

Nice people that work there, but we will stay somewhere else next time.
Pros:

The staff were excellent! Helpful and so friendly.
The bed was very comfortable. We came from an overnight flight and had not slept, and the bed was great. The room was also very clean.

Cons:

The food was not good at all. We did not enjoy breakfast and paid for it. Both days. The food we got in the evening was inedible. It was a big disappointment.
The room was quite tired looking, could use an upgrade. However it was clean.

Pros:

The location is perfect, across from the main promenade. The hotel was nicely decorated and provided a good breakfast. I thought the staff were wonderful. They made us feel so welcome and no request was too much trouble for them.

Not worth the price
Pros:

View is right on the pier. Live music and old feel of the foyer and elevator is nostalgic

Cons:

Honestly it’s such an outdated hotel. Scrapes of paint coming off the walls, stains on the carpet, windows were dirty and fixtures, especially in the bathroom, were rusting in places. For the price it was not worth it but unfortunately there are not a lot of other options in Eastbourne. Also the phone in the room (that was caked in dust) didn’t work so I had to go downstairs to ask for an iron, only to get a leaky broken one with a stained ironing board. If your willing to pay £500 for 2 days in an old B&B then this is your best bet

Great location. Bar man really friendly towards our autistic son thank you. Great to use the lounge
Pros:

Delicious although fresh pastries would be great. My son was sad as no pancakes. Maybe add a child friendly breakfast option. Coffee in a thermos cafetiere as it was cold by the time breakfast had been cooked as it came in a cup.

Cons:

The second bed at the bottom of bed. We had requested the free extra bed but were given the sofa bed. One pack of biscuits and limited tea choice.
