We had a great experience there. The hotel is a quiet and peaceful place adjacent to a big park. The staff is polite and humble and helped us in serving special meals for our toddler.
The classic property in best price and located in best place.
They don't recognize Expedia Booking confirmation no.
I was busy in check in for more then 30 min just to send mail so that they can accept my reservation. Probably this last time I am booking with Expedia.
When Start is not pleasant everything feels useless.
Location of Hotel was too good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were excellent.
It was a pleasant stay in a heritage hotel. It was a small old palace, primarily for the cars of royal family and for the time to rest in transit or while the cars are being prepared for their use.
Kaltes Wasser im Bad
Leider sehr laut durch andere Gäste
We paid 12500 RPS per night (a lot of Money in Índia) expecting a luxurius service.
Furniture is old and dirty.
Staff is not prepared and not sympathic. They did not tell us we had to call them so they could turn on the boiler that would allow us to take a shower with hot water 30 minutes later. We had to complain to find it out.
Hair drier is old and weak.
Naturally we were not surprised when we observed we were the only guests in the hotel. We deeply regret spent this amount of money to get a so poor quality service.
Hotel was ok. Service was excellent. Room size was comfortable and clean with enough towels and free water. The door has a screendoor. Inside the room is a separate closet area, and a good size bathroom. And the doorlock is a big padlock. And while you are inside, there is like a bar to lock the doors. Our room also had a sitting area. They have a heater inside the room, I guess to be used during winter time. But also have an airconditioner. Udaipur temperature in the morning and evening was quite chilly, which took us a little bit surprised upon getting down from the airplane. The hotel has 2 floors, there are no elevators. Breakfast was on the ground floor, but the choices were limited, we were only offered toast, egg and fruits. But I saw some other guests had what looked like bacon, which we were told they didn't have. Overall, hotel was ok, but nothing luxurious, just a place to stay.
There is a vintage car museum adjacent to the hotel and a park across. You also could get a discount on your entrance fee to the City Palace Museum, just get a coupon from the hotel, we learned about this from our tour guide.
My stay at Garden hotel was pampered. It is one of the palaces of the royalty and had all the makings of a royal ambience. The staff is highly accomodative and does their best to take care of the guests. The food service is a bit slow when made to order, so we had to wait quite a bit especially during dinner.
Building is beautiful, staff are excellent, breakfast was poor enough and room was reasonable, but the biggest problem is that it is located right by a busy road junction, with all bedrooms backing onto this, without any sound-proofing of the windows and the constant traffic and horns go until after 11p.m. every night and start again early morning. It was the worst and noisiest hotel experience I have had in over 20 years of visiting India. Quite unbelievable! Even trying to talk during the day, at the reception was interrupted by the traffic noise right outside. Udaipur has become so noisy and polluted. Better to select a hotel on the other side of the city, by the Hanuman ghat, which is still very quiet. If you want any kind of relaxation, please avoid this hotel, which is a pity, as it has lots of character and a lovely staff.
Nice & Relaxing.
For a one night stay in Udaipur, found the hotel to be conviniently located close to many of the city's tourist spot, without being crazily overpriced! Excellent rooms but overall lack of space places restaurant kitchen disturbingly close to some of the rooms in the hotel!
We had a great time staying at the garden hotel. Very nice rooms in a good part of town. Overall nice property. The only challenge, room was right next to the buffet area and there was a lot of noise till late in the evening while they would clear the dishes and early morning when they would start prepping for breakfast. Food okay, but great options nearby.
Fick ont i nacken.
I accidentally left my credit card at the desk during checkout, went to the station and boarded my train. The check-out staff followed me, crossed the station to the train, worked his way along the train until he found me, 5 minutes before departure. Fantastic!
This hotel is clean, and the use of the business center is free. Everything else, they charge for--bottled water, etc. The breakfast buffet is awful.
Hotel was very central ,walking distance to the main City palace ,Pichola lake ,Gulab Bagh but we took a Rickshaw to travel to the most of the local areas.Had a use of a Car and chauffer to travel to Mount Abu and the surrounding areas.Garden Hotel room was very clean.Reception staff very helpful and obliging.Didn't use the Restaurant except on a couple of occasions.Prices were were a little on the high side for this type of establishment although a vegetarian Thali in the Hotel is a very good value just costing 100 rupees. We were very satisfied with the overall stay in the Garden Hotel and would stay again if we return to Udaipur.
We had no idea what to expect when we booked this hotel. When we arrived we were delighted to find it was even better than advertized. The meals served in the garden restaurant were delicious. The staff was very helpful in assisting with car/driver hiring, cashing travellers cheques etc. We had a wonderful three days in Udiapur and would definitely recommend this hotel. Our stay was the most pleasant experience.
