Pros:

Great position and charming old hotel

Cons:

It's a bit of a rabbit warren and the bar/ resteraunt get very crowded. So crowded that the staff become impersonal

A pleasant place to stay. I shall certainly consider returning on my next visit to Glyndebourne.
Pros:

Staff were excellent - friendly, helpful, efficient. Food was OK but I would have welcomed some variation in the menu.

Cons:

The room was OK. but let down by the maintenance: there was no loo roll holder - just some messy holes where it had fallen off; the shower temperature control tap kept falling off; and the shower tray was in danger of overflowing if the shower was on full (blocked outlet?).
Is it really necessary to make guests ring an outside land line to get Reception?
It is not the fault of the hotel, but on 2 of the 3 mornings, I was woken up at 5 by very loud noise from the building opposite which is undergoing work. Fortunately, the third morning was a Saturday with no work taking place.

Excellent staff and a nice hotel
Pros:

What’s the room was small it was very comfortable. They did provide a dog bed but it was nowhere near big enough for our Labrador! Very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room lovely, real shame that the weather wasn’t nice enough for us to sit outside on the patio.

Cons:

What’s the bedroom was lovely and well maintained. I felt the bathroom did need a little bit of TLC. The paint was scuffed in places giving it just a little bit of a grubby edge whilst we knew about the lack of parking on booking. It was quite challenging, although we were lucky enough to find a disabled space very near.

We truly enjoyed our one night stay here. And will certainly recommend Heartwood Inns to friends.
Pros:

The ambiance in the dining room was very restful. The food, both dinner and breakfast was scrumptious.

Cons:

I don't see where there is room for improvement. Everything was exceptional.

Pros:

The full English Breakfast was very good,
The location was central. Lewes is very hilly . The hotel is uphill from the station. The compensation is the view from the dining room which is lovely.r

Cons:

The stairs ! But, we understand why there is no Livy and it retains the character of an old coaching inn.
