Very disappointing
Pros:

We booked The Sea Marge up for The Sunday Carvery, which we have been to before and is excellent. You can imagine our disappointment when we were told when we received the menu, that they no longer do the carvery, but a roast was on the menu.
We both chose the roast beef option, the yorkshire was too dry to eat, the one parsnip was burnt to a crisp and could only attempt to eat half of it, the beef was tough with gristle running through it. This is clearly a cost cutting measure, we certainly won't be back for a Sunday lunch and judging by how quiet the restaurant was, a lot of others think the same. The best part was the apple crumble for desert. There are numerous pubs/hotels serving Sunday lunch, which is why the carvery set The Sea Marge apart from the competition. Hopefully, sense will be seen.

Birthday celebrations stay
Pros:

We have been coming to The Seamarge for nearly 30 years but never stayed as we are not far away. Last year we were shown the lovely upgrades to the rooms and couldn’t resist booking the Lookout room for our birthdays. A special 3 day break and this is our first night. How special we felt arriving at the table. Food excellent as always and a beautifully presented dessert. We never meet the chefs but thank you, greatly appreciate your expertise and attention to detail. Thank you to the staff tonight that made the experience so special Robert, Mel and Sophie. Special thanks to Sophie who worked with our daughters to make this special. Looking forward to the rest of our stay.

A fabulous Hotel whatever the occasion for staying.
Pros:

Our visit this time to Sea Marge came out of sadness as our family had the best time we could, thanks to the kindness and compassion we received from everyone at the Sea Marge as we had a 2/3 night stay to attend a family funeral.
From the moment we arrived the staff were very professional, caring and understanding our needs.
The rooms were warm, welcoming and spotless clean. Food was excellent and had menus to suit everyone.
All our family were able to relax and share loving memories by the log fire in the bar. A perfect location for our needs at such a sad time.
We have already discussed visiting again as a family to keep our close relationships at your fabulous hotel.

Fantastic building great food
Pros:

I liked the location and the historic look and feel of the building - enjoyed Christmas decorations being up - liked the fact hotel is in a village - has parking - beautiful view and gardens
The food was delicious

Cons:

The tv - the colour was a bit hit and miss on the picture it needs replacing
Some of the furniture in the bedroom was scratched -
not much room where tea making facilities are
The young waiter serving breakfast Wednesday morning was not very friendly a smile and polite chat goes a long way

It served the purpose of a bed for the night giving
Pros:

Location was fabulous. Staff very helpful and went the extra mile to get everything right.

Cons:

As it was only an overnight stay meant we didn’t have time to assess the Marge in depth.

My stay was perfect in every respect, and I am looking forward to returning.
Pros:

The location is stunning. The Hotel has a country house feel. Board games are available for days when you don’t want to venture outside, and similarly there are outdoor games including a giant chess set.
The quality of the restaurant food was exceptional.
There was plenty of choice for breakfast, both hot and cold.
I had a standard bedroom which was very comfortable. I was delighted to find I had a bath which is quite a rarity. The shower over the bath was of a good standard.

Cons:

The lift is quite old fashioned and not suitable for anyone who doesn’t like confined spaces. However, the staff are perfectly happy to carry luggage up to the bedrooms. There are no bedrooms on the ground floor.

Lovely Hotel with loads of caricature. Great staff & a fantastic setting
Pros:

The selection was excellent. I enjoyed the full English. My wife found that the milk was slightly off & I would suggest that in hot weather it is better kept on an ice pack. Other than that it was good value & good quality

Cons:

We had a superior room unfortunately some of the furniture was in need of attention (new handles & door adjustment)
The bathroom floor was dirty behind the door and remained so for our entire stay & the carpet was never vacuumed hence the biscuit crumbs also remained
