The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you.
It was very hot in the rooms. There was a fan but that did little to help cool the room. We did arrive during a heatwave so not the hotels fault.
Breakfast food was excellent but the service was really slow.
Not having to wait for 45 minutes for my ordered breakfast even though the restaurant was quiet.
Lovely hotel great setting .
Mattress was a little soft.
Lovely hotel, fabulous terrace with sea views and very relaxing
Squeaky room door
A lovely big and comfortable room. Bed cosy with quality bedding.
Tasty lunch on the spacious lawn with stunning sea views. Nice, relaxed atmosphere and building full of character and charm.
Lovely location, breakfast was really nice and the Hawaian Pizza was to die for.
staff were excellent,breakfast average,accomodation basic
The staff at this hotel are second to none. A lot are young people who should pat themselves on the back for their kindness and patience with guests of all ages. They are a credit to your hotel. The chef and kitchen staff produce the best meals we have ever tasted and full credit to them. Lastly, a big shout out to the staff who keep the hotel spotlessly clean and fresh.
Beautiful location lovely historic building
Fabulous location with clear sea views. Unable to use outside terrace due to poor weather but it looked lovely. We booked a classic double direct, it had a large ensuite but was very overlooked by another building (room 9) Cleanliness could have been better especially between the bed and bedside tables, it was very dusty. The bed/mattress needed replacing, it was old and sagging.
Breakfast was excellent and some tables had a sea view. We liked having the self service buffet and hot food cooked to order. A relaxing start to the day.
The whole atmosphere at Sea Marge is very relaxing, we liked the different seating areas and table top games in the bar. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We only ate in the bar area, the meals we had were mostly good. On Sunday evening our roast dinner was dry and disappointing, left over from lunch we suspect.
We would definitely visit again, outside of peak season as before as we liked how quiet the hotel was. We came home feeling rested.
Lovely hotel in a super location next to the sea with very friendly team offering a warm welcome and great service, super on site restaurant with excellent food choices.
The Sea Marge has clean well proportioned rooms and offers lots of areas inside for relaxing as well as some great outdoor seating. What a wonderful place, highly recommend if you are in the area' We will definitely return in the future
A fantastic stay , beautiful hotel stunning sea view room and lovely staff .
Room was clean and well presented.
The bar staff were struggling to cope with the demand on Bank Holiday Monday. I thought some needed more training and maybe there should have been more staff on duty.. A smile and a kind greeting goes a long way in your initial impressions.
I told a member of staff that we would sit outside for a drink to peruse the menus as it was a hot day. Another member of staff said we should have been in the restaurant. They were obviously under pressure, but there was no consistency. I asked for water and it never came.
Also in a formal dining room, you expect the staff to be dressed appropriately. Three things on the menu were sold out. On a Bank Holiday weekend that didn't seem to be good planning and organisation.
It was a shame the food was excellent and the accommodation, but maybe the owners of the hotel are cutting back on staff and training.
I had booked the hotel at the last minute without any research, my fault that the Sea Marge Hotel is a very dog friendly hotel and I am allergic to dogs ,lol .However I was ok.
I loved the area and would love to stay at the Sea Marge again but it’s too risky for me ,I enquired about the lodges they have but none were pet free.
The Breakfast is superb and we were well looked after by Robert and Harry all the staff were friendly and lovely nothing too much trouble ,Sophie is a Gem .
I wish I could stay again ..thankyou for our lovely stay.
Excellent
That the shower head was fixed. Unable to shower without getting hair wet, or as a woman, clean your privates.
Appreciated the spacious room, sumptuous super king-size bed, and amazing sea views over sweeping grounds. The location was peaceful & quiet set away from the road and the staff friendly and helpful.
The historic mansion was glorious and we loved the delft fireplace tiles. Stunning location away from the road, beautiful gardens leading straight onto the coastal path. A real gem!
Accessible plug sockets either side of the bed would have been helpful. Room was quite warm even with the heating off and windows open.
Coffee cups too large for coffee machine, decaffeinated options and plant milk/vg biscuit options would have been appreciated. Appreciated the toiletries, some conditioner would have been welcomed.
