An amazing hotel with wonderful staff
Pros:

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
We were treated like royalty by the staff. The knew we were celebrating our Diamond Anniversary.
The management upgraded us to a beautiful suite and our table was decorated for our evening meal.
Looking forward to our next stay.

Disappointing
Pros:

Sunday lunch disappointing. Took 25 mins to get our initial drinks order. Had to wait over 1 hour 15 mins to receive our lunches, clearly our order was forgotten. Complimentary drinks should have been offered. Once food finally arrived we weren’t asked if all was ok. My roast was missing a couple of items stated on the menu and the pizza was overcooked, burnt on the edges. We didn’t see our original waitress anymore. Wouldn’t return and unworthy of the service charge.

Bad Experience
Pros:

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Despite early time 6.15 and virtually empty restaurant service was very slow. Bread rolls offered were stale and requested additional butter never arrived.
Food was limited menu but ok if expensive and medium glass of rose at £9.45 extortionate. Two scoop of ice cream dessert took 25 minutes to arrive and added service charge 10% an insult and not paid.
Hope that this was an isolated incident but if not plenty of other places in the area offering similar or better value and service.

Nice views and rooms but poor restaurant
Pros:

Lovely old hotel with spacious clean rooms. No Aircon but very fresh from the sea air and a great view of the ocean. Ample parking.

However, there is not "direct access to the beach" as that path has been closed due to disrepair for years. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk to get there.

Avoid the restaurant; the food is poor quality despite being expensive (the famous Cromer crab was inedible) and they under-staff it. We gave up on the hope of being offered dessert after being sat in front of our dirty dinner plates for 25 minutes.

Nice enough
Pros:

Superb views of the sea with an unspoilt lawn in front. Lovely old building which gave a sense of staying somewhere fancy.

Cons:

No beach access as indicated. Restaurant food was lousy despite being expensive. Lots of tables in pretty places but all full with empty glasses as they don't have enough staff.

Pleasant stay - good location.
Pros:

The bathroom and the dinner was good.

Cons:

The breakfast was a bit below what was expected - scrambled eggs overcooked - and overpriced.

Pleasant and comfortable stay.
Pros:

Loved the location and the grounds. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. However I do not like just a rain shower, I prefer a hose too. The food wasn't that good and quite expensive.

Cons:

Explained above.

Can't wait to return, enjoyed our relaxing break so much
Pros:

Our favourite north Norfolk hotel has changed so we decided to try The Sea Marge, so pleased we did. Hotel, terrace, room, service, food and staff all exccellent. Wonderful location and grounds. Such a lovely experience after a few miserable weeks following health problems. Only one minor observation, UHT creamy milk in the coffee machines, really not to our taste, easily sorted.

Another delightful stay at one of our favourite places.
Pros:

A grand building which feels like an old friend, it has charm in bucket loads, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the location is stunning, just minutes from endless dramatic coastline and a good beach. The staff are super helpful and friendly and the food which we had was great.

Lovely short break at our favourite place.
Pros:

It’s old fashioned charm, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We have visited often and keep returning for the same reason, there’s nowhere else quite like it.

Cons:

That we can’t come more often!

Beautiful sea views and terrace
Pros:

Location is excellent and terrace and gardens make the stay very pleasant even if you do not venture far from the hotel. Room was quiet and comfortable. Bed was exceptionally comfortable with good quality bed linen and pillows. Lift is a big bonus.

Cons:

Staff are sometimes overstretched and do not always recognise the needs of the elderly customers. Needs either a ramp or edge marking on the steps leading to the terrace. Chef needs to cook the broccoli.. it is not a vegetable that is easy to eat raw. Entrance and lift flooring needs replacing.

Miserable bar staff
Pros:

After a walk across the cliffs from Cromer we had a lovely lunch today sitting in on the terrace in the sunshine - well worth the walk and will certainly return. However we found the staff unfriendly and very unhelpful. We took a walk through the garden and when we returned to theI realised I’d left a bottle of water on the table which I had used for my dog had been cleared away - as we had to walk back in hot weather I asked if I could get another empty bottle to use - the answer was no!!! Tried again, this time asking the male waiter who was far more pleasant - he disappeared off and returned not only with a bottle but he’d filled it with tap water. It was a simple request, they were busy and if she’d pointed me in the direction of the recycling bin I’d have happily fished one out myself
