Sanierung bitter nötig!!!
Pros:

Sehr gute Lage, direkt beim Palast!

Cons:

It was a refreshing stay with awesome lake view
Pros:

Breakfast was good and fresh. We loved the balcony view and terrace view. Staff was really caring and attentive. The palace pool area was looking really awesome in the night.

Cons:

I was hoping room size to be bigger when opted for three people. I was hoping the furniture inside the room to be more usual than what you would expect in a palace hotel.

Pros:

WHAT A GEM! 1000% worth staying here.

The hotel is part of the City Palace Udaipur and within the same complex where the royal family currently lives. One can truly feel the history and charm of a real palace, which makes the experience exceptionally unique. We were given a card to be able to exit and enter the complex at any time (considering the City Palace closes to visitors during certain hours).

The location couldn’t be better. It is a 2 min walk to the main entrance to visit the city palace and 5min walk to the boat station for the lake boat tours. The hotel also offers rides with a golf cart in case you don’t want to walk, but it’s not truly necessary.

The hotel is calm and serene, perfect for moments of rest between sightseeing. I LOVED the pool area, it is very beautiful! The pool is fully made of marble - truly impressive.

The service was excellent everywhere. The staff by the pool, reception, and housekeeping were very attentive and kind.

We also had dinner and lunch at the hotel during our stay, and the food was great. One of the few places where I felt safe to eat chicken; the Thai chicken curry was delicious. And the candle light dinner outdoors was very pleasant on our arrival day.

Another point worth mentioning is that, unlike other heritage hotels, this one does not host weddings on the property. This was great as it ensured that we could relax quietly by the pool without noise or crowds.

We booked the terrace suite with sit out (one of the more basic rooms), and we could see the lake if we looked to our right. If we looked straight it was a green area. Very quiet room since it wasn’t overlooking the city, nor the rest of the palace.

Overall, an unforgettable stay that perfectly combines luxury, history, and tranquility - would absolutely come back.

Pros:

Beautiful palace with exceptional friendly staff who accommodated us to a lower room as my mother could not walk up the stairs to an upgade.
Its worth booking this place if you want to feel an ambience of how the Maharajas lived.
Bazaar was just 5 minutes away.
Breakfast was amazing and can be prepared to your liking if requested.
Definitely would had stayed longer than 4 days.

Cons:

Only thing I didnt like was that they expected us to pay for the extra bed when other hotels in India did it free of charge
Also Bathrooms need an upgrade.

I would not recommend. Dated and small rooms and very bad value for money!
Pros:

It’s located on the calm palace grounds and the gardens are pretty and well maintained.
We booked 3 nights but we didn’t end up staying at all as we really did not like it.
We were fully refunded and really appreciated that!

Cons:

Value for money was shocking! Super expensive and the rooms are dated and small. Maybe a 3 star standard. Furniture are old and not pretty compared to other 5 stars we stayed in India.
The pool looks like it used to be a fountain. I wouldn’t really call this a pool. Also this area where the restaurant is also situated is completely closed in. No view, no sun.
The spa is opposite the reception. I didn’t go inside but it didn’t look very inviting to me.

We loved Shiv Niwas Palace. We will go back.
Pros:

The staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. The hotel is simply GORGEOUS, spacious, extremely clean and comfortable. The location and view are unbeatable. It really is a magical place perfect for families, couples, away from the noise and yet easy access to nearby shopping areas, boats to tour around the lake and great restaurants. It's a magical place!

Cons:

The spa menu in the guest's book is completely off from what the spa actually offers. That's confusing for the staff and disappointing for the guest. I showed up to make my reservation after spending a good amount of time selecting the treatments I wanted. None of the were offered! I ended up getting a massage only. As disappointed as I was, the massage was excellent. Angelina was simply extraordinary. Thank you, Angelina!!! And Thak you to Lanu for helping clarify the whole situation. Great staff excellent massage!
