Not pleasant. Not up to the mark of Heritage 5 star
Pros:

Property is run down. It requires refurbishing badly

Cons:

Bathroom fittings are of 1990ies. Shower was not working, even bath tub was still obsolete. Hand towels were not there Infact it’s a rundown hotel. Dining room and reception is good still

Sanierung bitter nötig!!!
Pros:

Sehr gute Lage, direkt beim Palast!

Cons:

It was a refreshing stay with awesome lake view
Pros:

Breakfast was good and fresh. We loved the balcony view and terrace view. Staff was really caring and attentive. The palace pool area was looking really awesome in the night.

Cons:

I was hoping room size to be bigger when opted for three people. I was hoping the furniture inside the room to be more usual than what you would expect in a palace hotel.

Pros:

WHAT A GEM! 1000% worth staying here.

The hotel is part of the City Palace Udaipur and within the same complex where the royal family currently lives. One can truly feel the history and charm of a real palace, which makes the experience exceptionally unique. We were given a card to be able to exit and enter the complex at any time (considering the City Palace closes to visitors during certain hours).

The location couldn’t be better. It is a 2 min walk to the main entrance to visit the city palace and 5min walk to the boat station for the lake boat tours. The hotel also offers rides with a golf cart in case you don’t want to walk, but it’s not truly necessary.

The hotel is calm and serene, perfect for moments of rest between sightseeing. I LOVED the pool area, it is very beautiful! The pool is fully made of marble - truly impressive.

The service was excellent everywhere. The staff by the pool, reception, and housekeeping were very attentive and kind.

We also had dinner and lunch at the hotel during our stay, and the food was great. One of the few places where I felt safe to eat chicken; the Thai chicken curry was delicious. And the candle light dinner outdoors was very pleasant on our arrival day.

Another point worth mentioning is that, unlike other heritage hotels, this one does not host weddings on the property. This was great as it ensured that we could relax quietly by the pool without noise or crowds.

We booked the terrace suite with sit out (one of the more basic rooms), and we could see the lake if we looked to our right. If we looked straight it was a green area. Very quiet room since it wasn’t overlooking the city, nor the rest of the palace.

Overall, an unforgettable stay that perfectly combines luxury, history, and tranquility - would absolutely come back.
