I choose this hotel because of its location in Temple Fortune among other Jews. I paid a little bit extra for a small double, a single can be very compact. I was pleased to be upgraded to a standard double and my request for a fridge was met and I was on the ground floor. though with a few twists and turns and single steps. I recommend the friendliness of the staff and the spaciousness of the place. Book breakfast in advance, it is cheaper than on the day.
Lovely hotel. Beautiful good sized rooms. Friendly staff who would go out of their way to assist. Reasonably priced. Gorgeous breakfasts, Truly outstanding stay.
Great location, about a 10 minute walk to the Golders Green tube station, very close walk to a variety of kosher restaurants. Lobby is very fancy with bistro furniture. Plenty of seating and great ambiance with calming music playing. There are a variety of coffee drinks and hot chocolate with a croissant for £3.50 in the lobby that I enjoyed almost daily. The bathroom had a wonderful deep soaking tub and very nice tile on the floor. The room was newly renovated with a lovely seating area. The hair dryer in the room had a diffuser which was great. The woman at the front desk was very informative with tube directions and was very friendly. Overall a great stay. Would say again on another trip to London.
I was at the hotel a week was very clean and always calm and quiet Always fun to go back to where you are respected gives you good treatment
I stayed here for a night following our company Christmas party.
Checked into my pre-paid room at about 11pm. Staff pleasant enough but insisted on photo ID to check me in, despite my confirmation email. I’ve never had this in the UK before. I ended up finding an image of my passport on my phone and emailing it to the receptionist, but what a palaver so late at night. Just tell customers they need photo ID before they arrive!
I walked a fair way to my room (11) along narrow scruffy corridors and in and out of buildings(?!). Up a flight of grubby uneven stairs to my ‘we’ve upgraded you to a triple’ room. Hilarious. A small double bed and a single stuffed up against the window and a filthy radiator, with barely any room to move. The wall-mounted TV meant I had to bend down and sideways to get to the bed.
No lock on the door, which for a single woman meant I had to push one of the chairs up against the door to sleep soundly. Most men won’t understand this, but any other female guest will know exactly what I mean.
Stained and dirt carpet, gritty greying towels, no hook on the bathroom door and a filthy wardrobe that I didn’t want to hang my coat in.
I’d put my head down to sleep and around midnight the guest on the floor above me arrived. Banging, and stomping for around ten minutes as he settled in. I know it was a guy because the next thing I heard was him relieving himself in his bathroom. How delightful.
I do not understand the positive reviews. I can only think that as this hotel stretches across a number of converted houses, maybe some of the rooms are better than others. Based on my experience it’s an absolute hole, so I wouldn’t take the risk.
We found King Solomon Hotel to be a lovely place to stay. Close enough to the center of London, but not too close that it was noisy or crowded. The staff we encountered were really helpful and accommodating. We had a family room (38) and my Grandson especially loved that he had his "own" little room next to the bedroom where he could play with his cars! Would definitely recommend staying here, and next time I'm visiting London, this is where I'll be staying!
Gorgeous hotel. Beautiful rooms with adequate space. Magnificent breakfasts and very friendly staff. I thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel.
Great value, staff, location.Always stay here as Service is excellent and friendly.Reception very friendly and efficient
I chose this hotel as I used to live in this area for a long time. My stay is set for 16 days and soon I will go abroad for a while and I wanted to underline all aspects possible.
1. Location. As a Jew, this location is more than perfect. Everything from Carmelli to Jerusalem The Golden, from Beit Cafe to Kosher Deli is here. Even Sainsbury's on Finchley Road has kosher section. Kosher Kingdom, Aisenthal Judaica or Moshes are not far too. Also, for anyone interested, Tesco Express, Persia (Irani cuisine), Buy 2 Save (with loads of Turkish and East European foods), Poziomka (Polish cuisine) are great additions.
2. Connections. When 210 bus takes you literally from the front of the hotel, most of your problems are already solved. There is a tube station nearby (Northern Line), 310 bus towards Stamford Hill as well, National Express and plenty other buses from the main Golders Green stop.
3. Other amenities. Plenty of coffee shops (Cafe Nero, Starbucks etc.), one exquisite local bookshop, convenience stores, everything from household goods to repairs is located very close.
4. Natural sights. Nearby you have infinite possibilities for good time in nature: Central Square - Hampstead Garden, Big Wood, Hampstead Heath & Extension, Golders Hill Park & Pergola (a must see!) and with 102 bus you can reach really fast beauties like Muswell Hill and in minutes you are in Alexandra Park.
5. Staff. Absolutely amazing, top notch staff, and I'll mention the ones that I've dealt with, Riya, Paula, Sylwia, Rihan and Apur (not in any order, they were all amazing). I had very little requirements (holding the letters on my name, for instance) but they were very professional and made my stay very comfortable.
6. My Room. A nice room with a mezuzah (like all other rooms) already gives you a good vibe. The room has a double bed, a bathroom with shower, a solid safe very easy to use, kettle, mugs and various other items, tv, a hair drier and a very good and useful fridge.
The internet works perfectly. The cleaning lady came everyday in my room as I was downtown and everytime I've got back I was pleasantly surprised by the nice scent, the bed, the added rolling paper, washing up liquid and so on. I could sleep perfectly and feel like home.
7. The Price. To be honest, it couldn't get better. For 16 days in such a beautiful place it's a nice deal. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I try to understand the real meaning of some reviews that seem over the top.
8. Conclusion. I took my room on 30th September and I'll leave on 16th October, early in the morning. One of the best times in my life. I'll miss this place but I promise that with the first opportunity, I'll pick again the same hotel and if possible, the same room.
Thank you all staff of King Solomon Hotel for your kindness and professionalism.
With respect,
Ari (Adrian)
Was great
We stayed two nights here. The hotel is located in a quiet area but plenty of shops and places to eat just a short walk away, also a bus and tube station a good walking distance from the hotel. The hotel has a nice modern decor and the reception staff were always friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we decided to book breakfast at the hotel both mornings to make things easier for us. The breakfast was really nice and had a great selection to cater to all tastes. The room was extremely spacious and had all the facilities we needed. The only issue I had was that the shower kept going hot and cold I could not get it to just stay warm. Overall we had a very comfortable stay and we would return.
Excellent service from the reception team. Room was decent, comfortable and had everything we expected for the money we paid.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. In general the room was great and had a great great sleep.
However a few changes required: flooring chipped, toilet had a mostly smell. Would be ideal to have a towel rail in the bathroom for towels or clothes during a shower.
Overall will definitely stay here again.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The room and bathroom were clean, however there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom.
We checked in on Saturday and therefore most shops were closed, however several restaurants in walking distance and we had an excellent, tasty and generous meal nearby.
The best thing about this hotel was definitely the staff, they were super friendly and helpful, which made the stay much easier. That said, there were a few downsides: In my room, I barely had any WiFi connection, and the mobile signal was so weak that I could hardly use my phone for calls or data. The room could also have felt cleaner, but I think this was mostly down to the fact that the building is very old and really in need of some repair and refurbishment. Overall, not a bad stay, but it would benefit a lot from some updating.
Good quality hotel priced competitively considering its location. 10 minute walk to tube station. Plenty of parking.
Room was good, clean and well fitted out.
Great stay for a trip to Wembley
Room basic but clean, bed comfortable enough. Thin walls. Road noise, but to be expected. Hotel generally is pretty 'tired' but ticks the box for a cheap & cheerful hotel. Receptionist super friendly.
The King Solomon was clean and tidy. The room was perfect for me and my family.
The staff were excellent, friendly and chatty and couldn’t do enough for us. Convenient stay to get to Wembley and London. Underground at the end of the street, got us into the heart of London in 20 minutes. Recommend
Had a good stay however for me things need a bit of an update. There was a funny smell in the corridors going up into the attic . The carpets could do with replacing. The attic room was quite hot even though there was a fan that was quite noisy when you put it on. The shower didnt stay upright only in 1 position and the cubicle just looked discoloured as it had been in for a while.
