My cousin and I chose this NH hotel for two reasons: I didn't want to drive our rental car through all the small streets and back alleys in Coimbra and we have used the NH hotel in Berlin several times and were always pleased. The parking was easy and secure. We crossed one of the bridges and the NH hotel was right there. We didn't have a water view room, but we could walk down by the river area within 5 minutes. There was a lot of construction nearby as the city is trying to 'spruce up and make it more convenient' the area by the river clear into town. We walked several times into town using this river walk ... it is about a mile but we could cut across left at any time and be on a main street in the Coimbra Old Town area. The hotel's breakfast was really good: lots of warm foods, pastries/rolls/bread, cereals, cheeses/veggies/fruit, and plenty of juice and coffee/tea. Our twin room was pleasant; plenty of hot shower water. The area was quiet even with the construction and if you don't mind walking, it is very convenient into town. We had a mini-frig so if one wanted to stop at one of the nearby groceries, one could put some snacks in the frig and use the coffee/tea maker. We would definitely stay here again and we recommend this hotel for its location and cleanliness with larger rooms than the usual.

The room was very comfortable at a short walk from the train station. Breakfast was well organised and good. The hotel has very good facilities which makes it ideal for work travel.
