We stayed a single night before our flight out of Rome. The building itself is interesting - a former monastery built in the 1600s - and there is certainly a lot of history there. We had just stayed at another VRetreats property in Florence, Il Tornabuoni, so we were hoping for a similarly positive experience.

It may just have been bad luck but we found aspects of our stay lacking. Our stay coincided with a private event which closed the common areas - garden and rooftop - to us, and we were not informed at check in. (Apparently no service of any sort on the rooftop either even when open to the guests, which seems like a missed opportunity). Further, our rooms were very difficult to get to, requiring climbing multiple flights of narrow stairs. Apparently this was due to certain areas being closed off for the event — but this too was not communicated at check in and, in any event, difficulty in getting to our room from the hotel lobby is a very inconvenient situation to be in.

Rooms were clean, though, and the bathroom products were high quality. Location is also great and service is commendable.

Lovely historical building.

This is an exceptional experience in Rome. These historical buildings are in excellent condition. The rooms are comfortable, clean and fitted out with modern conveniences. The staff are exceptional - experienced, welcoming and attentive without intrusion.
Travestere is a romantic neighbourhood, cobblestoned alleyways, a touch of bohemia with urban patina, and many convenient ristorante and osteria to eat, drink and watch the days and evenings go by.
If you do miss having a gym, you can jog up the stairs behind the hotel to the impressive fountain, which overlooks the city, or jog down to the banks of the river Tiber, which has wide running/cycle tracks for those who prefer not to run on cobblestones!
The internal garden and the rooftop terrace are ideal for spending time with friends and family or enjoying the history of it all, without the tourist bustle.

An outstanding experience in every respect from location to cleanliness to exceptional staff in the restaurant, the porters, and the front desk. The hotel has a rooftop with an excellent view and an expansive beautiful garden. Food and drink selections galore. I will be back!

What an incredible experience! We have chosen this beautiful little paradise for our 3 day visit in Rome and felt like in heaven from the moment we've checked-in till our check-out a few moments ago.

The hotel has the perfect location in Trastevere. Very central but anyhow a oasis of peace and quietness. The first impression Matteo gave us at check-in is unforgettable. He greated us with such a warmhearted and sympathic energy, that we felt welcome from the first glance. The best ambassador for the hotels immage. Thanks to Harvey for taking care of our luggage and introducing us with all tge room ameneties. Your welcoming smile was opening our hearts!

The rooms are cute and very well maintained. The housekeeping is doing a wonderful job and you find your room spotlessly clean day after day. What we've enjoyed also very much was, that the whole hotel combines in perfection tradition and modern touches. Very unique and incomparable. Also the scents of all public aread are very plesant and contribute to a beautiful wellbeing.

The Donna Camilla Savelli can be honored to have such an incredible dedicated, warmhearted, professional and graceful host which takes care on her guests with the utmost hospitality and friendlyness.
