We love The Dukes! Cozy, charming and always a great experience. The Great British Restaurant is delicious and beautiful. And The Dukes Bar is a treasure (hotel guests can reserve a spot at the bar!).
Nothing short of amazing. Minute we walked in to the moment we left. 10/10 will be back.
Charming older historic hotel. Excellent staff and lovely bar and breakfast. The concierge services are top notch. The hotel is showing some age since my stay 5 years ago and the elevators can be difficult. But I understand it will be undergoing renovation soon. All things considered it’s a terrific place with great staff. I’m glad I made it back a second time.
Stayed one night on Dec 24, 2024. When we left the hotel we told the people at the reception and the head concierge that we would be back for the nights of Jan 9 through Jan 13th and even left a piece of luggage at the hotel. Two days prior to our arrival of Jan 9 I received an email saying that the hotel would not honor our booking since they would go through a renovation. They assigned us a different hotel which was not of the same quality/standards and forgot about us from then and on. Why the hotel did not alerted us while we were there on Dec 24th that it would go through full renovation and we should look for another hotel? Seems just irresponsible and of huge lack of consideration to its guests. Not good at all. I have been requesting a full reimbursement with no answer up to now. We of course did not stayed at the hotel they wanted to assign to us. Booked and paid a different hotel.
The facilities a bit old but a nice classic hotel
Dukes is a gem. The location is fantastic and the staff is certainly the best in London. I've stayed at several wonderful hotels in London, but Dukes is my favorite. I will always choose Dukes before the other hotels.
Wonderful stay :)
Would definitely stay again
This is a hotel with typical British decor on a dead-end street next to Green Park and the Ritz Hotel. The reception has several paintings of royal family, the elevator is over 100 years old and the rooms are small but comfortable. The breakfast is well served. The bar is famous and trendy. The location is very good. Close to everything in Mayfarr and Sohi.
A staff and service. Go out of their way to welcome you and give you the best possible stay.
Perfect location for walkable access to shopping, restaurants and museums.
Trading on its dated history!
Checked in on Sunday and told the renowned bar was closed but open the following night. We asked if it was ok to visit then and left it with her for around 8pm. The lady at reception took a "preauthorization payment" of several hundred pounds which was actually not held as normal but taken from my account immediately. I questioned this and was told it would be credited back if nothing ordered in the bar or restaurant.
Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, went to the bar on Monday for the bar manger to demand a reservation number, that the woman who checked us in should have arranged! We left without trying the alleged original martini and was made to feel second class citizens in this 4 hundred + night hotel!
Very disappointed in the way the bar manager handled the situation, which actually marred the break for our 35th wedding anniversary.
We didn't eat in the hotel as we had already made plans weeks in advance. We checked out and after 14 DAYS I had to chase the hotel up for the refund back to my card. If I hadn't of chased the refund it wouldn't have happened!
We will not be back!
The hotel was excellent, the staff was its biggest asset. The breakfast was good, although it didn't include an omelette or anything like that, and if you wanted it, it was an extra charge. Two things bothered me, the first and main one is that in the hotel lobby (which is small) there is an entrance to the bar and every day dozens of people line up every afternoon and evening to get in. It's a very unpleasant feeling when you enter the hotel and have to ask people in the lobby to move in order to get into the room. The second thing is that the window in the room faces the air conditioners, so we couldn't even open it to ventilate without the terrible noise of the engines.
Comfortable, excellent cuisine, superb, friendly and helpful staff
We had another fantastic stay at Dukes. The service was impeccable and our accommodations were perfect. A great experience and we look forward to our next visit!
The staff were the icing on the cake
The staff are really amazing and the location suits our reasons for being in London. The team in Dukes bar is just exceptional.
Nice small hotel. Cute. And pretty clean.
The service was extraordinary.
I visited Dukes with my family for a 1 night stay. The hotel and room were absolutely beautiful, the room was perfectly decorated for Christmas and our wedding anniversary celebration. This was our fifth visit and we were welcomed back, it felt just like coming home. Breakfast in the GBR was delicious and we were treated like family by Ujwol and his team. We look forward to returning again soon.
It’s in a great location and the staff are great
This was our first time staying at Dukes. The service, quality of the room, and the overall wonderful ambience of the hotel makes this my favorite hotel in London. I also love the location. All the shopping and restaurants were within walking distance or a short taxi ride away. The restaurant was also very nice. We will be back.
