Great location - amazing service and staff is so helpful

First time and for two nights in this great historic hotel - we loved it! From the great welcome (thank you Vash!) to the huge room (705) it’s a great find, a house with character.

Hint:
1) check out the rooftop
2) just a few steps past the Starbucks on the corner there is the German Cafe “Peter’s” - check them out for breakfast and your coffee!
3) for great seafood 3min down the main road I recommend “Izzy’s”

Ended up needing to stay the night because weather canceled my flight, and what was a disappointment turned into a very pleasant evening. It helped that the desk person Vashti was very helpful and sympathetic that I was a stranded traveler. The room was very pleasant and the location ideal. Within two blocks were an array of restaurants and bars so that I had a wonderful dinner and then a drink before retiring for the night. Sometimes the detour is the best part of the trip!

No breakfast. Location was great. I think the price is too high, but I think that about all hotels these days.

We were sadly disappointed in our stay. When we arrived, valet was not outside, so I went inside to locate her. Front desk saud she didn't understand why valet was in a room located off the front desk, but we located her she was pleasant and helpful. Upon check in we found 1 of the 2 remotes for the TV wasn't working. The safe was not working. We had no washcloths. We called the front desk and was told the person coming on the next shift would handle. We we arrived back to our room following dinner and a concert, we discovered none of these matters had been resolved. I went to the front desk with the non working remote. The batteries were dead, so they changed them. I asked for wash clothes and was provided with 2. I requested that the safe be looked at and repaired.
The following day we saw the maintenance man while on the elevator who mentioned our room # and the issue with the safe. He said he'd look at it later. We told him we'd be out, but please feel free to enter for the repair. We returned to the room around 2:00. Safe not repaired. We were in the room when housekeeping came. We told her we only needed towels and washcloths. She said she had no washcloths.
I reserved a suite for a nice Ft.Myers weekend as a father's day gift for my husband. The suite although roomy, wasn't the Hilton quality expected. Furniture is outdated and it didn't feel as clean as I expected.
I will say that every employee we talked with was pleasant and respectful.
Lastly, we went to the rooftop bar for 4th of July fireworks. Staff pleasant and fun, but food service stopped at 8:30.
I'm a Hilton rewards member and feel Hilton didn't represent the brand well at all.
Again, the staff was friendly and pleasant, unfortunately, the whole experience was not.

vashti the front dest attendant Was wonderful. Location was perfect rooms incredible. beautiful view surrounded by everything you could wan tfriendly staff parking a little iffy. But so much was going on.
