The Great Hallingbury Manor

Great hotel for overnight stay before very early flight next morning.
Will definitely use again.

With the exception of expensive taxi/Uber to get to/from airport around the corner - the hotel is absolutely perfect. Staff also 10/10 and noise from aircraft taking off is not too bad.

Lovely surroundings and a great restaurant...however, I wouldn't stay here again. The blind didnt work in the bedroom, so the room was constantly glowing with headlights from the constant flow of traffic. Also we had a broken bed which slowly got worse as the night went on. As we had to leave 3am, wasn't worth asking to move. We were told to email our complaint, but never heard back.

Room was just as advertised and had everything we needed - except hair conditioner. Easy and helpful check-in staff. Clean. The collection of buildings were absolutely stunningly cute and well-maintained, especially for the age, and nice explorable grounds. Not much open in the area or walkable past evening time. Quick cab ride to Stanstead.
Beds a bit on the short size, rooms could use fans in the summer. Opening the windows was an option but we were on the road side which was surprisingly noisy for most of the night, in addition to very loud planes overhead nearly every 5 minutes well past 11 pm. Nice place, but bring ear plugs or a white noise machine.

Beautiful grounds - lovely location for dinner or a cocktail. Hotel didn't have air conditioning and when we were there at the end of May it was warm! The room was quite stuffy and too hot to sleep.

The perfect place to stay just a stone's throw from Stansted Airport. Great breakfast, comfortable beds and a warm welcome (from the Italian gentleman on reception) even though we arrived late at night after a long journey with a toddler. Would definitely stay again.

The rooms themselves are fine, check in was an easy process, ample car parking. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided, which was a nice touch.

I’ve only awarded the property 3 stars because is it located directly under the flight path of Stansted airport. I stayed in a room on the top floor, prior to an early morning flight, and it was so so noisy with regular planes flying overheard that I had trouble getting to sleep. Far from ideal when you need to be up at 3am!

Lovely little place, very cosy. The aeroplanes are so loud that it was difficult to sleep and relax. Nice place for a walk, food is great.
Register the car park, but received parking fine. Hotel helped to cancel it, hope it will be dealt with, as the threats from parking company are still coming

Stopped of to catch early flight comfortable rooms I personally did not hear noise from the airport ear protection was in room if needed a nice touch

Beautiful external areas (garden) very nice restaurant. They have a damp issue so strong smell of damp in the corridors & my room. Damp on walls in bathroom. Obvs noise from planes, but it's under the flight path for Stansted so that was no surprise and they mention the noise in emails.

After a very stressful afternoon dealing with the results of a missed flight and hotel booking loss we managed upon the Great Hallingbury Manor.

Nice old manor house a bit noisy with planes passing over, big room and nice bed.

Right under flight path for planes landing so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise.

I had an amazing stay however it is out in the rural area so make sure you set it up with the front desk to order taxis uber is a hit and miss.. William at the front desk was absolutely amazing everybody was really great and welcoming.

Lovely setting just right for a stop over around stanstead

Bar service was very slow but the food was lovely. It’s a nice place and would return.
