Room was very comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was standard hotel buffet. Staff were helpful. location would be nice in Summer.
Great location with friendly staff. Good choice of food available in the restaurant and there is an excellent breakfast buffet.
Nothing
The location, just of the motorway, excellent walks in the country park by the loch when we stayed last summer, this trip was 2 days into the snow storms for our overnight stay even though almost empty the hotel was warm and comfy,
The usual breakfast bar was replaced by freshly cooked individual orders plus the normal cold dishes. The staff on learning we were traveling on to 40 miles north of Inverness with possibility of closed snow gates made sure we had flasked hot water to make drinks and a box of pastries in case we got held up. The hot water in fact saved us when despite -20 antifreeze the spray jets froze up twice.
Stayed again begining of Feb on way home still excellent.
Photos of our road to our destination, and the light show after we arrived
Nothing
Booked via booking.com but there was some confusion as their info said I had booked the following night?!? Room was ok but on entering the bar restaurant at 19.40 I was told the kitchen closed at 19.00! Seriously this is the first I knew of this despite spending time at reception sorting out the booking issue between them and booking.com. The barman was embarrassed and very kindly offered a sandwich which was ok but why wasn’t this mentioned by booking.com or the hotel reception?? If I had known I would have chosen another hotel. This can’t possibly be a 4 star hotel as it has these limitations which aren’t advised in advance!
Nice rooms. Helpful staff. Highly decorated lobby.
Fine
The hotel was lovely, a friendly welcome and pleasant staff throughout the hotel. The food was exceptional.
The only thing that could be improved, based on other hotel stays, would be a magnifying mirror in the bathroom with good lighting and a bathroom pack containing items like a shower cap, cotton buds, cotton wool etc.
It’s a nice looking hotel. Breakfast was good (although no pancakes for my daughter). Was a good price.
Room was very draughty (I thought the window was open - and also at the door), however, the room was warm when blinds and curtains wee closed. Blind was filthy - covered in dirty marks. Shower was hot (but couldn’t make it colder!). TV on the wall was small and squinty. Shower bottle holder wasn’t secure so bottle fell off when using it. A small biscoff biscuit with the coffee making things was disappointing for a 4* hotel. (Probably the cheapest biscuit out there). Reception staff could’ve been more welcoming. (I was greeted with a “name?”. Not even ‘hello’). Restaurant closed at 8pm.
Location and friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Stained carpets, poor bedroom lighting, dated environment throughout. It needs renovating to bring up to 4 star standards.
Breakfast was really nice, Staff were great and place was clean,
I ended up with a Twin room and would have preferred a double. I didnt go back to reception and ask for a double which i am sure if i did and they had one they would have gladly moved me.
Night porter was very informative
Room was unclean. Couldn't operate the curtains as the pole was too close to ceiling and too rust to move. Couldn't close the window and blind was mouldy.
Very nice, hot and plenty choice
Nothing
