Beautiful garden and grounds, but a ways out.
Very much a "bare bones" property; rooms have no fridge, and there is no hot water for showers. The cleaning staff would constantly turn off our AC (although we'd turned it up when we left) so the rooms were stifling when we'd return from our excursions. Front desk staff (outside of Danielu - who was lovely!) did not speak English, but were happy to help via google translator. Pool was nice and cool and the rooms were clean and sufficient.
We did not eat at the restaurant, but the staff there overcharged me for a bottle of water (the front desk didn't have any for sale regardless of their signage) and then cheated me on the change~ So I guess that's a thing - the taco restaurant across from it was delicious and we found a bodega in town for future water purchasing needs.
Would not return
A group of 21 stayed there for our annual trip to help churches serve in their communities around Valladolid.
Stayed here with a group
Great stay for groups
Pros:
Very clean.
Spacious gardens, tennis court, nice pool for young kids, rooms are large. A little out of town centre so a lot quieter, but still only 15 mins walk to Cenote Zaci.
Lots of different birds singing in the gardens, it is pretty.
Nice buffet breakfast. Relaxing place.
One of the few hotels with a gym in Valladolid
Taxi to/from bus station in town centre is 40 - 45 pesos
Cons:
Rooms need complete renovation, had no hot water in Room 102 (did not really matter too much, as the tepid shower was quite refreshing), smell from shower drain.
Bed linen / pillows / mattress seem to be quite old.
The gym only opens at 10am each morning
In Valladolid, I think all the cheaper hotels are likely old and need renovation unless you want to pay premium hotel prices, so this is probably quite typical.
Property staff polite and helpful. Location is quiet.
Our stay at Ecotel Quinta Regia in Valladolid, Yucatan was very pleasant.
The hotel has the necessary services that a family with children under 12 years old needs. Without a doubt there are aspects that can be improved, but the place is clean and the kindness and attention of the staff who work there is formidable. From those in charge of the reception (who by the way have very good information about the surroundings and places of interest), cleaning staff and waiters and cooks, they are extremely patient and kind with the children. It is true that not everyone has an extensive command of English or other languages, but many others do (the waiter's captain Margarito, for example, speaks French, English, Mayan and a little Italian apart from Spanish), especially the waiters at the hotel restaurant (remember that in many countries that also earn significant income from tourism, many of the service providers do not speak or do not speak other languages fluently or refuse to speak them), this is where a little Spanish helps and breaks the language barrier and becomes a very pleasant experience. Personally, seeing and hearing my children try to speak broken Spanish or English was satisfying.
The hotel parking lot is large and the rooms adequately isolate noise from outside. The pool is a nice place to cool off, but it is important to be careful with the slippery floor that is in the palapa in front of the pool bathrooms and in front of the pool and bathrooms themselves.
The location of the hotel is convenient for getting to the city center on foot (10 minutes walk), by car it is even shorter, there is the possibility of being able to park the car near the park and the cathedral on the street where there is no yellow line, but it is not sure to find a place (there ar also enough parkinglots in the center), but I think it is better to walk. The hotel offers the possibility of easily walking to a nearby supermarket (about 5 minutes by car and no more than 10 minutes on foot).
The location is ideal for touring natural attractions that are between 30 and 90 minutes by car, such as different cenotes (some of them within the city itself or no more than 20 or 30 minutes by car), archaeological sites such as Ek Balam (30 minutes by car) and the Río Lagartos reserve and Las Coloradas, approximately 90 minutes from Valladolid, are reachable (it is important to note that it is better not to drive at night due to the speed bumps and potholes that can be found on the roads and the lack of lights on some bicycles and motorcycles). There are not many gas stations on some routes near Valladolid, so it is a good idea to fill up with fuel before leaving Valladolid or on the way back. There is a gas station near Río Lagartos.
The hotel offers the possibility of easily walking to the city center and even to a nearby supermarket (about 5 minutes by car and no more than 10 minutes on foot).
A safe place for children to play and explore within the property. For an additional deposit (refundable at the end of your stay upon return of the lock and key), you can request the lock and key for the in-room safe, which is large enough to hold several belongings as well as a large laptop. Cars can be parked without any problem and with enough space to avoid scratches or bumps.
In the future we will definitely consider staying at this hotel again.
The view inside the hotel is beautiful. Rooms are very clean. Restaurant available since very early. Staff very friendly. Property is close to the center. Big and safe parking area. The best thing is the affordable price. Good option for family
This is my third time there and it’s always good.
We stayed for 3 nights 4 days. Rooms were amazing. We had the top floor facing the water park. Balcony was huge with warm pool on it. Kids loved the water park. Monkeys were an exciting addition to our trip. Food was great. Nightlife was dull. All on all we totally recommend this hotel.
What makes this hotel special is the excellent service. Margarito is my go to guy at the restaurant because he goes above and beyond what is asked of him.
My team stays at the Hotel because of the excellent service. My friends like Margarito go out of their way to serve.
Amazing quiet place to stay away.
.
I would visit the place again.
I would visit the place again.
We stayed at the Ecotel Quinta Regia for one night as part of a birdwatching tour with Ecocolors. We arrived early and we were able to get our room well before the standard check-in time. Check-in was quick. They had a nice bar area to lounge in, but we did not eat there. We were out that night and left early before the free breakfast.
The buildings and grounds were very nice. The rooms were standard, but clean and good looking with a little porch area attached. It was a bit of a long way to haul our luggage out from our room. They allowed us to store our bags there while we were out birding. Overall a really nice place in a good location for the attractions in the area. I would recommend it.
None
The hotel is very nice, clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful (except for the woman who was at front desk when we checked out). The food was excellent and service great!
