I understand when hotels don't have rooms available for early check in, but this was a Thursday afternoon, it was VERY slow, The parking lot was nearly empty and they absolutely waited until exactly 4:00 before even allowing anyone to check-in. I don't know if this is the policies of this property but when someone comes in at 3:15 in the afternoon and check in is at 4:00 in most cases there's a room ready and they would allow a weary traveller who's wet from the rain on a motorcycle to at least get a room 45 minutes before 4:00 so they can change into dry clothing! This is the only reason I didn't give the property five stars and I won't return for fear that I'll be in the same situation in the future because I'm a motorcyclist and the weather tends to be dodgy. I've stated properties that allow early check in as early as 9:00 AM if rooms are ready, I was only asking for 45 minutes of time so I wouldn't be dripping wet in their lobby.

If you're going to visit Albany, keep in mind this hotel is not downtown, it's by the airport. Getting to downtown is tricky without paying for a cab if it's raining and you're on motorcycle. We ended up getting trapped at the hotel rather than going out to a restaurant in downtown Albany and the only thing that we could get to in the downpours was the restaurant inside the hotel, as for bar food and fried food they're perfect but if you want a healthy balanced meal this is not the place to eat. Also, they were doing pub trivia that night which tended to make the entire bar an amplified nightmare of noise.

The room I selected was for two double beds or one King. The room I was given was only one Queen bed which I must say was lop-sided and uncomfortable. The box spring literally squeaked with every movement I made. It was terrible. The TV is impossible to navigate through as the channels make absolutely no sense, and the lack of Smart features is almost hard to believe in 2026. If my room was not so far down the end of three different hallways, I would have asked to switched rooms, but I was so tired at the end of each day, I just dealt with it. Unrelated to the hotel, do not eat at the bar attached to the building, "On Tap". I ordered a basic cheeseburger (medium) and chicken tenders. Burger was so burnt I could not eat it, and the tenders were fried so fast they were dark crispy on the outside and almost raw inside. I had to toss my entire meal and then enjoy that beautiful bed while not watching TV. lol. Sorry for the complaints but for someone that travels a lot for work, I would have expected way better from a Holiday Inn and especially for $150/night. Unfortunately, will not be staying there again. Side note, Tipsy Mousse had great burgers and bar food. Small neighborhood spot, a mile away. Worth the drive or doordash.

Non smoking. I really wish all places adapted to smoking on site but that’s a small feat. With a vehicle you can just go outside and understandable no one wants everything smelling of smoke.

We got to the hotel they said there was a problem with their system and they did not have my reservation even though I got a confirmation saying otherwise. They had no free rooms so we had to figure out quickly another hotel. Our son went into the Air Force and they could not accommodate to rectify their mistake
