Hampton Inn Roanoke Rapids

As others have stated here...the staff in every area of the hotel is truly great. BUT be warned, this hotel is apparently beginning a much-needed "major renovation" that has been seemingly promised since 2023? 2024? 2025?

Workers are seen in the common areas and on the exterior.......but in the guest rooms:

This hotel is outdated, worn, and generally pretty unsavory in its present condition ...especially if you're used to staying in new or reasonably renovated hotels across any number of price points.. The Trip Advisor reviews we found here were, for the most part, not at all in agreement with our experience here for a one night stay.
This hotel tarnished the reputation of the Hampton brand in our minds.

After 7 hours on the road, the first room we were given was totally unacceptable bc the king bed was placed on an old visible metal frame, and the box and mattress were dropping inches from the floor in the center. We contemplated getting back on the road when we saw that, but then were moved out of that room.
The second "king" room offered had what one would expect, a wood frame bed and adequate support. But, as in the first room we saw, upholstery is very worn, and rooms are outdated. Oddly, the 4 bed pillows on the king bed are very very tiny and shoved into standard pillowcases. We guess the Hilton/Hampton brand can't afford king pillows and king pillowcases to be put on their king beds: Strange and uncomfortable and frankly, ridiculous. The key card did not function well. Two different trips to the lobby were required to get access to our room.
Keep on driving if you can.........

Breakfast was decent. Staff were super nice and helpful.

The breakfast was great. Sunday, they made grits, and now I'm wondering how they made them. Not everyone can make grits taste good, smooth, and non-gritty. It was great, along with everything else. Oh, and those maple sausages, yummy. We do not have those in New York City.
The view from my room was beautiful. I have an infatuation with clouds. The clouds were beautiful to take pictures from my room and outside. The staff was so nice, polite, helpful, and friendly.
I will definitely come back and tell family and friends.

The entire staff was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. A special thank you to Amanda and Rosa. Amanda was over the top accommodating, and Rosa's kindness and attention to guests at breakfast made even the groguest guest smile.

Location off the highway was very convenient!

The property was nice and clean.. the room was very comfortable and the staff was nice

The breakfast was good, I thought I would not have a meat option because I don’t eat pork but when I saw the chicken sausage I was pleasantly surprised. The location was excellent, so close to stores and Starbucks

this is a great hotel beautifull pool with a fake firepit and makes the pool area a good place to relax. staff seemed very nice!! rooms are good and are clean. nice greating on tv. tv was very nice. this hampton inn is awsomely placed near good restaruants, surprisingly quiet for as close it is to 95 stopping back on the way home look for another post on this

The breakfast and house keeping teams were great. Friendly, helpful and keep the area very clean.
