The Standard in the East Village/LES has become my new favorite go-to hotel in Manhattan. Not only is the location phenomenal, but the staff is so friendly, accommodating, and kind. I called in advance, asking for no detergent or bleach on my sheets since I am allergic, and they followed through with zero questions asked! They recognized me when I checked in from my stay the previous summer, welcoming me back. They graciously put my shopping goodies in my room with a sincere smile, so I could bounce over to my next appointment and still be on time. And Shavone totally hooked it up when I was checking-out so I didn't have to wait in line and got me into my awaiting car, all the while loading my bag with a genuine smile in the middle of the rain. Can't say enough about the graciousness of the whole staff, which really makes an impact on you when you are a girl on the go for a quick trip!!! And PS, enjoy the French fries + burger in the garden area if it is open. It is one of my hands-down favorites in the entire city.
Fine for a point redemption stay but paying $800/night to stay here would feel like a rip off.
The hotel is very worn. The bed was comfortable but the rest left much to be desired. Very little closet space and a big orange chair and lamp set in front of the closet so you have to move furniture to be able to hang anything up. Room is an odd size so moving the furniture creates a barrier to get to the bathroom, and a giant TV on an easel blocks most of the view. Bathroom shower had no water pressure and many glass tiles caked with soap scum and broken or chipped, can cut your feet if you’re not careful.
Sleeping here is also a bit tricky as despite having blackout curtain, the thermostat has a blaringly bright LED screen that can’t be turned off, and the bathroom pocket door doesn’t close (can only be locked from the inside) and the window in the bathroom doesn’t have a curtain, so you will wake up with the sun.
$51 + tip for a cup of black coffee and an avocado toast feels excessive as well.
And no one at the front desk for check in or check out, had to wander around to find someone and when they did come up, they were watching a video on their phone the whole time while operating the computer. Not very professional. And then my key didn’t work.
I think the hotel relies on their location and restaurant venues, it’s clear the rooms are an afterthought, but after this experience I would never pay to stay here.
I had an amazing stay at The Standard, East Village in NYC. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained. I also loved the café—the food was excellent and a highlight of my stay. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I would definitely stay here again!
Great location!
Nothing!
I expected a lot more for $600 a night. Service was lacking at the front desk. Conference room on top floor was beautiful.
Location, team, service quality,
The price is a little high for my POV
Lee was amazing! It’s rare to have someone who seems genuinely excited to make sure your day is going well.
Lee and Myko are amazing. I had just come from LA to NYC. They were both so very helpful!! I loved it.
Another wonderful stay at The Standard — clean, comfortable rooms, great views, and very friendly staff! Hats off to Lee and Ahmed for the warm welcome!
The location was great in the heart of the East Village with close subway stops and lots of places to eat. The hotel itself wasn't anything special and not as quirky, fun or cool as The Standard hotels in Los Angeles. The rooms were clean but were very small with minimal storage to unpack for two people. The staff was welcoming and attentive.
Em Portugues para os Brasileiros: A localização, a qualidade dos serviços, o conforto dos quartos e o cuidado da equipe.
O preço pode ser um pouco salgado, mas vale a pena
This hotel and front desk staff were amazing. Myko made the welcoming amazing. We will def be back.
My husband booked me a solo trip to the East Village and I’m so happy he chose to surprise me with the standard. I made a great connection with Tatianna at the front desk who was able to check me in. I also met Myko, Ahmad, Jaden and Kim during my stay - everyone made my stay GREAT!
My friends and I decided to check out Cafe Standard, but we walked through the front desk a couple of times and we were always greeted! Each time by a different staff member by the staff at the front desk. They were so kind even though I wasn't a guest there.
We loved our stay at The Standard, East Village. This was my first stay at a Hyatt property, and it did not disappoint. The location is excellent and within walking distance of many of Manhattan’s unique neighborhoods, with convenient access to the subway nearby.
We especially loved our room with its floor-to-ceiling windows and enjoyed watching the world go by. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we slept soundly every night. I would definitely stay here again!
Chambre pas disponible à l'heure prévue du check-in. Aucun effort du personnel pour s'excuser ou compenser -- même pas une proposition de m'offrir un verre pour me faire patienter.
Unfortunately the worst hotel experience we’ve had in years. Terrible front desk service. Terrible luck with room keys and technology. Unbelievably noisy.
Lee, Phil, myro, Ava. What a dream crew. Could not ask for a better staff with my visit. Truly.
