Lovely and friendly

If you are rich enough to stay in those spacious room with a great view like in those glowing five-star reviews, good for you. Otherwise, most of you are likely going to get a embarrassingly small room and leave with a bad experience.

We arrived around noon and asked for possibility of early check-in. They did have a room available but wanted to charge $15 for it. Sorry that is one star gone. We have stayed at plenty of hotels where the staff had no issue with that request.

The room is tiny even by Manhattan standards. And believe me, I have stayed at plenty of hotels here. I don't know who designed this, but there is only one night stand on one side of the bed. Seriously?

There is no in-room coffee machine, which posed a problem for me as I need warm water for my medicine. I don't remember ever having trouble with that.

In other Hyatt hotels there is usually a mini fridge, and we often put some fruit there. There is a fridge in the room at this hotel, but they are filled with paid food and drinks. This is outrageous. The room is so tiny that you can't even have two night standards, but you don't waste any effort in charging for your crappy snacks?

The bathroom is also terrible. In the shower, there is no place for you to put any toiletries. If you have your own shower, shampoo, facial cleanser etc, you'll have to leave them on the ground. I have never, ever been to a hotel that has a bathroom like this.

Have to say this is the worst Hyatt hotel I have stayed at. I would have got more mileage out of my money had I stayed at another hotel nearby.

Great staff, cool location and funky design. The garden is a joy. But it is the staff and vibe that makes it special.

Beautiful hotel, nice vibe, awesome smell, super clean, rooms are very nice and the bed feels like a cloud. The outside patio garden is extra cute

Loved the room with lots of windows! Loved the breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly. No room service for late night - but that's the only downside. Great location! Will stay again!

Es la segunda vez en este hotel. La primera había superado nuestras espectativas. Sin embargo, esta vez no fue agradable, habíamos pedido (pagado) y especificado una habitación en esquina con vistas específicas, hasta el número de habitación según el piso para que nos tocara la esquina que queríamos y no respetaron esto, diciendo además que no estaba en la tarifa, aun cuando si habíamos pagado el extra y nos lo habían confirmado por booking. Luego nos ofrecieron unas aguas de cortesía al momento del check In que resultó que nos cobraron como amenities al salir, y los que atendían poco amables. Eso sin contar que la habitación que al final nos dieron, aunque no era la solicitada y si estaba bien, el aire acondicionado hacía un ruido que no dejaba dormir, al punto de tener que usar tapones. Es un gran hotel, pero es importante que puedan cuidar esos detalles. Además que no es barato como para no cuidarlos...

The location was great for visiting the New Museum and many fun restaurants. The staff was super friendly but only when we wanted to engage. The breakfast was good. Sleeping was easy with super comfy beds and light cancelling curtains. Bathroom is roomy. And the building is great looking.

My wife, and I recently stayed at The Standard, East Village, and it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we’ve had in a very long time.

As a Hyatt Globalist member, I’ve stayed in Hyatt hotels throughout the United States and around the world. This property stands out to me, not just because of its stylish design and outstanding location, but most importantly, because of the staff.

The team genuinely made us feel like welcomed guests rather than customers. Every interaction was warm, friendly, and authentic. Ahmad, Tati, and the rest of the staff created an atmosphere that was both professional and personal. It’s rare to find a hotel where every employee seems committed to making your stay special, but that’s exactly what we experienced.

The East Village location is fantastic, easily walkable, walkable, and surrounded by great restaurants, live music, and shopping.

The hotel’s name may be The Standard, but our experience was anything but. It exceeded our expectations in every way.

We’ll absolutely be back, and I recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone looking for an exceptional New York City stay that’s right in the middle of all the action yet far enough away from the touristy Times Square crowd.

From the time we checked in with Ahmad until the time we checked out with both Ahmad and Alain, everything was decadent, pampering, and perfect. Their hospitality, the size and cleanliness of the room, the design of the hotel and its amenities, and the quality of the food and drink were all impressive and we would definitely stay there again.
